Dear Masters, I would like to find out if there is any way I can activate a pearl string formation of my flat if the external landforms don't support. Fengshui teachers say that real mountains and water bodies are required before the pearl string can be activated. Since I can't see any of these landforms around the vicinity, does that mean nothing can be done to harness the benefits of a pearl string formation? Thank you sincerely in advance for your advice.

Dear Steven, For a clear glass or see thru glass, such as those in modern shopping units, can be threatened by a `poison' arrow from a distance. Frosted glass or opaque film, would do the `trick'. Hello we are trying to arrange our living/ dining room and buy a new sofa. Unfortunately we have a rectangle shaped room with a lot of windows! The only workable place to put the sofa (that would put it against a wall- also a good idea as we have a climbing toddler who likes to climb the sofa) puts the side of the sofa in direct line of the front door- although there is/ will be a cabinet for shoes or a buffet against the wall closer to the front door and there is a distance of around 4m-5m from the front door to the sofa. Dear Carrie, To confirm, it is a poision arrow only if it is aimed at you. This is where the tip of the poison arrow is tangent to any part of your window area. If so, apply the concept if you cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat. Here, you can consider using a curtain or a venetian blind on the window. Water star, as the name suggests implies clear space and thus, ideally, when one stands around the living room one should have a clear view of all areas of the room. I have a birch tree in front of my house, more to the South East. One third of this tree seems to be dead and some big branches are falling. Shall I cut it and remove the roots completely, shall I cut just the dead parts, shall I keep the stump hoping it will revive? Shall I plant another tree immediately after removing it? Dear Carrie, In my opinion, a mirror may not be effective to deflect the `arrow' of the roof line because it will still be pointed against you. The two alternatives are: 1. As mentioned earlier, you need to use a blind or a screen. A white see through curtain is acceptable. 2. Ideally, if you can place one dragon figurine on your table and aim it at the poison arrow. It is best not to use a small cannon piece but this can be pointed at the `arrow' if you cannot find a dragon. But becareful when using the cannon. Dear Anon, It is good to use a white primer first. Although it has nothing to do with FS. As long as the colour has been changed; what cannot be seen can no longer `influence' or be used. Therefore, by painting the wall rosy beige, it will be `influnenced' by this colour. Therefore, in my opinion, it does not matter that you have to remove the black paint first. Dear Master, Just a general enquiry on door sizes and if there are any concerns. My main door is 7 ft high while I intend to install a sliding glass door separating the dry and wet kitchen. This however is 9 ft high. The location of the main door and sliding glass door is not aligned. However, I did heard that it is best to keep the main door as the biggest. As such, is it advised to reduce the height of the sliding glass door opening to 7 ft, with 2ft fixed glass panel? Or is it ok to still keep the glass door 9 ft high?
