Dear Amy, Thanks for your clarifications. Since you are using your room at night, lighting is important and this would depend on whether you are working or resting. As far as possible, try to make the room as cosy as possible particulary place a faourite photo or even a small vase of (real or artificial) flowers would help. Dear Jody, The first thing you need to determine is which intangible force your main entrance door is at. You mentioned that it is spook/disaster. However, you need to further determine whether it is closer to spook or disaster from the mid-point of the main door. If it is the spook intangible force, you do not need to do anything other than keep the location bright e.g. neutral colour white will do. However if the disaster line flows through the main door, you may like to take up any of the following suggestions:- Currently there are five methods of dealing with this (not in any order of importance):- 1. Change the angle of the door to face one of your best directions i.…

Dear Clern, Frankly, there can be many other reasons other than what you have mentioned e.g. pricing, market demand etc... Dear Elizabeth, If the main door has two panels, you can open the side furthest away from the stairs. Placing a half door at the foot of the stairs can be done but not sure if there are any safety concerns i.e. making the stairway dark. One alternative is to place a mirror at the staircase landing (when the stair case `turns'). Dear Jon, The purpose of the Eight House Theory is to find a suitable house for 1. the breadwinner 2. locate suitable rooms especailly the bedroom for the wife, children and other family members. Therefore, when you look at a house, you could use a transparency and superimpose each family members good and bad directions over it. When you use the template, you can see cleary which rooms are good for which member of the family. Ideally, avoid having the death or disaster line of any family member falling within their bedroom and for the bread winner avoid having the death or disaster line flowing through it. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee -----Original Message----- From: Listma…

Dear Glyn, Frankly, this depends on the type of stuffed toys. If it is `cute' (don't blame me but the dictionary says cute means adorable but ugly) or any soft toys, this is acceptable. I have seen many homes even in Singapore, where the child (especially girls) display a wide range of their toys e.g. barbie dolls etc... The only thing is not to display stuffed animals e.g. tigers, leopards etc... Other objects to avoid include war toys, guns or swords etc... I am not sure how this would affect the alter ego of boys thou (if they know how to read this) and start to throw rotten eggs at me:) Likewise, swords should not be displayed facing the main entrance door and paintin…

Dear Davis, You can activate the mountain star which is in the room and it should be activated at the direction of the of NE. You can place a paper weight or hang a large painting if it happens to be a wall. Dear Tri Nguyen, I wrote this reply recently and I hope you find it useful:- I mentioned earlier in some of the replies in the forum that it is common practise of Hong Kong Feng Shui Masters/pactioners to use fish tank as Feng Shui `cures'. What I mean is that between the two : fountains / waterfall, which is considered to bring beneficial ch'i to a home. Placed either outside the compound outside the front of the house or in the living room. Fish tank as a cure. For example if a lone lamp post can be seen from the living room entrance, a Feng Shui practioner would then suggest that a fish tank be placed `overlooking' the lamp post. Notice that the lone lamp post being th…

Dear Bless, For a mirror in the bedroom, the most favourable place is on your dressing table provided the dressing table is not facing your bed. It can be from the level of the dressing table and it should not `cut-off' part of your head. Therefore, the mirror need NOT be of full height from " tip to toe ". The mirror should also not face the toilet door, such that when you come out of the toilet and see can the mirror. Mirror must also not be placed above the headrest of your bed set. You can place the mirror below a window again, it is best to place the mirror on your dressing table (which does not face your bed). Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee -----Original Message----- Fr…

Dear James, Thanks for providing a description of your home. Overall, if I get what you wrote correctly, the water is on the `East' side (front) of your home. Are there any windows on this side of the house facing the pool? If you are applying the 5 elements concept, it would not be the most important principle relating to this situation. The Four Symbolic Animal theory http://www.geomancy.net/fs/four.htm take precedence over this theory. What you have is something like a pool of water which is equivalent of the `Bird' or Red Phoenix of the Four Symbolic Animal Theory where, this is good because normally when there is water on the ground, the `view is unhindered'. I…

Dear Beth, I have already replied you with my analysis and other comments in an email. Briefly, the layout has three major flaws: (two with known cures the third - pseudo cure.. only) 1. staircase to upper floor can be seen directly from the main entrance door. As the distance is too close to the stairs, it would be difficult to use a door screen. I am not sure, if bead curtains are currently in fashion. This is one cure thou. Another thing is that staircase must have a turn instead of leading straight upwards to the second floor. 2. Toilet at the centre of the house (ground floor)... this is a fundamental flaw.. and implies money flowing away... Very difficult or rea…

Dear Jody, Ideally your roof should first be proportionate (both front and back) rather then slope one side. Especially if there is `water' closeby in Front, this is symbolic of water (wealth) flowing away from your house into the water. ^ / \ The symbol of a `normal' roof, if you look at the side profile looks lik an UP arrow | | which signifies moving upwards in career, wealth etc... Frankly, nothing much can be done to enhance a flat room. Although some have added a covered chimney in the shape of a roof with a `roof ' to represent the " UP arrow " as shown above. With the front door in a straight line with the backdoor, the best solution is to place a decorative…

Dear Lucas, In your case, for analysing your home using Feng Shui, you still have to consider your main door as facing North even if you do not open your main door most of the time. The fact that you have to enter and leave the house through this door remains `valid'. (Even if ch'i frequently comes in from the balcony or any of your rooms depending on the prevailing hot/cold air pressures). As your balcony is at the South, do also `ensure' that when you open your main door, avoid ch'i flowing direct out from the main door to the `south' balcony (if you have not considered this already). In traditional Feng Shui, it is utmost important to determine the `centre' of the hous…

Dear Airvrm, In response to my previous message, I was unable to determine the location of your Main entrance door due to the absence of a North to South indicator on your graphic layout. However, I have already identified the center of the house for you, which you can use as a reference point to determine the direction of your house. If you are following the 8 house theory, each compass point is at a 45-degree interval. For instance, North is at 0 degrees, North-East is at 45 degrees, and East is at 90 degrees. Therefore, you can identify the closest degree to determine the direction. It is recommended that you do some research on this matter. If yo…

Dear Jez, It is difficult to deduce that your luck has changed because you are away from home and staying at your friends place that may have resulted in `losing' some money. This is because there are a few Feng Shui or Feng Shui related tools that need to be `analysed' in relation to yourself. This can be quite complex as it may involve:- 1. On certain days, our `luck' changes based on your personal main element and its strength (Pillars of Destiny) 2. Your friend's house ch'i influence on you. 3. Other factors e.g. Casion's payout rate in relation to winnings (is usually weighed against the player) In addition to the above, there can be more variables that can add to th…

Dear Stephane, From my opinion, the best Feng Shui books are not in English but in Mandarin either written by practising Masters in Taiwan or in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, one needs to know Mandarin in order to read such books. Many of such books are also not translated into English and currently many English educated Feng Shui authors are capitalising on this but many are still no `match' for the `originals' although many English speaking Feng shui authors try to make a good attempt at it. Currently I will not mention the books here but we have found fundamental flaws in the `current batch' of Feng Shui books on theories relating to Pillars of destiny and the Flying star.…

Dear Davis, Pillars lacks of the environmental influences which Flying Star is able analyse given the various directions of the house. Flying Star however, lacks the personalisation of a person's details, which is why there is still a need to combine the report with Eight House and even Pillars to find out the most suitable cures. Pillars of Destiny is to find out a person's destiny. Let me share with all of you a little about this Pillars of Destiny. When it was first developed or discovered. The original intention was that everyone was born with a particular fate. And this Pillars report is to analyse what a person's fate is. Which means if you notice, it is actually n…
