Question: If for permanent place, it is advisable that we engage u to view onsite before buying correct ? Frankly, not compulsory. As there are some who do this, while others purchased, then consider a FS audit. Most people go in, feel good… and… well, that’s the majority of it, lol.

Dear Master Cecil Lee, My KUA number is 2. If I place the stove facing SW direction, the stove would be next to the sink (only one foot apart). If I place the stovefacing NW direction, the stove would face the kitchen door. I am very frustrated and don't know what to do. Would you please give me some advice? Any helpwould be appericated.

In my opinion, it is best not to look at the facing direction on a "piece-meal" basis" only. Recently, I had posted a "checklist" of activities that is based on important Feng Shui concepts:- 1.1 For example, your home should also start with how and where the drainage of your home drains out of your home. In all homes, usually there are two or three drainage-out of your home that conveys Wealth and Power and Authority for those staying in the home. Other exits of drainage may lead to poverty etc... 1.2 In addition, an East facing home usually will be "bathed" by sunlight in the morning and the area behind can be affectd by afternoon sun. Considerations of the bedroom,…

Dear Jenny, Actually, when we look at Feng Shui, you’ll notice that we never encourage putting all your hopes on just finding a so-called “wealth corner” or only focusing on enhancing wealth. This is because it’s not really possible, or easy, to pinpoint these factors using just one single theory. More often, you’ll see that we prefer to look for an overall solution that addresses the different problems you’re facing as a whole. We always stress the importance of achieving overall balance in every area of your life. This means that if there’s an issue with Feng Shui related to Shapes and Forms, we will look for a remedy for that. And when there is a problem…

Dear Vincent, Indeed, I can verify the accuracy of Lillian Too's statement. A Feng Shui foot is equivalent to an imperial foot. By utilizing this precise measurement of 43 cm or roughly 17 inches as the diagonal of a square, we arrive at what Mathematicians refer to as the 'Magic or golden square'. The Feng Shui foot recurs every 43 cm [or 17 inches.] I previously penned a brief piece on this subject, accessible at the following link: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm I trust this information proves beneficial.

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have just purchased a new flat and the concept of my theme is white and zen style. But I just happened to see that my unfavourable colour is green, brown and red. I have brought my bedroom set which is oak in colour and also the tile of my toilets comes with oak brown colour. Does that mean I have to re select the colours for all the furnitures and change the theme of my house? Is there any way I can still keep the the theme colour? Green/Brown=Wood, Red=Fire. Are you are a Strong Fire element? If so, then yes these colours make may your element too strong. However, you can also attempt to balance it by introducing a 3rd element. ie Earth…

Hi there, I received from my mother a pakua mirror that she received from a friend of hers. I don't know the exact source of the mirror and it might be already used. I think I received it last year or maybe 2 years ago, can't remember exactly. The pakua mirror is for the exterior of the home and I never used it. I just wrapped it in paper and placed it in a cabinet and that's where it's been all this time. Now I want to dispose of it, because I'm not sure of its origin and don't want bad luck. What is the best way of disposing it? After disposal, should I do anything else inside the home? We are…

Hi, Basically, Feng Shui is not a religion, and therefore it has nothing to do with statues or “statue worship.” Feng Shui is both an art (Shapes and Form) and a science (Compass School: Eight House and Flying Star). For those who are not aware, the Dragon Horse and Dragon Turtle statues come from two stories about how Fu Xi, a Chinese emperor, discovered the Luo Shu grid. This grid is the mathematical formula used to derive the Flying Star base numbers, as well as the water and mountain stars. The URL for this story is: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/tortise.htm Similarly, the Flying Horse (Dragon Horse) comes from another story about a different pattern fo…

Dear Anon, So long as the unit is not directly facing the frontage or the main entrance area of the Hindu temple; it is acceptable for the unit. For the two bedrooms; the test of whether there is sha qi or not is to stand at each of the bedroom windows. If the antenane seems to slice thru the window, then this is considered as a sha qi or poison arrow. Often there are two cures to this: 1. Reflective tinted glass Tinted glass or reflection from the glass is acceptable, here. 2. Day curtains or blinds Alternatively, one cou…

Dear Anon, So far, I don’t think anyone has actually painted their walls black. Black tends to make a space feel dark. In contrast, a white‑washed home usually looks bright and clean. So, there is some truth in that idea. Using the 33.3 percent rule, other black items or objects aren’t really an issue. For example, IBM products are mostly black. Their excellent IBM ThinkPad notebook PCs and some of their high‑end systems all come in black. Both Robert and I use these black machines without any concern. Overall, you can simply apply the 33.3 percent rule here, where anything under 33.3 percent isn’t going to affect a person. Warmest Regard…

The unit is not very near to the road as there's a small garden in front and the garden is circle, when look upon my 2nd floor, it looks like a sunken well to me. Do you think it's an inauspicious house? Pls kindly advise. cheers, keryee

Dear Anon, Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. 1. Most of the time, the 8‑pie method is the easiest to use if you have a protractor or a ready-made transparent template. It makes it very simple to find the center point and then quickly sketch or draw the 8‑pie chart on a copy of the layout plan. The 8‑pie method is also very handy if the house has an odd shape, has missing corners, or if you want to do an analysis that extends beyond the actual outline of the house. It works well for circular houses too. Many Traditional Feng Shui practitioners like using this method because, in my opinion, the Water, Mountain, and Base star numbers c…

Hello we are trying to arrange our living/ dining room and buy a new sofa. Unfortunately we have a rectangle shaped room with a lot of windows! The only workable place to put the sofa (that would put it against a wall- also a good idea as we have a climbing toddler who likes to climb the sofa) puts the side of the sofa in direct line of the front door- although there is/ will be a cabinet for shoes or a buffet against the wall closer to the front door and there is a distance of around 4m-5m from the front door to the sofa. Is this still a bad place to put the sofa- or, are there any other positions you could suggest given the room layout? If it is a bad place to…

Dear Anon, 1. Some Feng Shui practitioners really believe in using lighting with five bulbs. For them, it’s a way to neutralize Sha Qi in a space. In my view, these practitioners are usually more aligned with the Shapes and Form School. 2. Another group, often those who are more mathematically inclined and rely on Flying Star Feng Shui, tends to pay special attention to the number 5, which is linked to misfortune. I feel that these practitioners have a stronger association between the number 5 and bad luck, so they may prefer to avoid using anything related to the number 5. 3. From my experience working with many cases involving the centrepoint, here’s what I…

Dear Diane, It is good to hear that since you are a weak water person, water can help your element. However, for a weak water person, the best element that helps your weak water element is ideally Metal element. Under the Five Elements Concept, Metal helps to produce water. Adding water (such as a fish tank) can still help but will not be as productive as using Metal. But nevertheless, it can still be of help to a weak water person. For a weak water person, an element to avoid is the Earth element. As Earth, destroys water. Normally, an accurate assessment of where to place a fish tank should be undertaken by looking at the birth chart of the house such as the Flying Sta…
