General Help

Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Dear Donna, I try not to be "pessimistic" because one of the most important Feng Shui criteria is that a house should ideally suit the breadwinner. The "more serious" case of a clash (i.e. a person not matching a house is) when the `death' or `disaster' intangible flows thru the main entrance door. The current known `cure' based on available information under the Eight House Theory is to keep the main entrance area bright and avoid leaving the main entrance door open unless in use. If you are still living in this home, (Not compulsory) but good to do a Pillars of destiny analysis to find your true element and it's strenght and a Flying star birth chart but this would grea…

  2. Dear Nare, There is a short write-up on size at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm But the main consideration under Feng Shui for a new rectangular cabin are:- 1. Do not locate the toilet in the centre of the house. 2. Where possible, keep the cabin " rectangular " i.e. try not to have protrusion or a missing corner. You can find out more about this at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/building.htm. 3. One best way is to use the Free Feng Shui tool " Eight House Theory " to find you and your family's template. Here you can then look at which is your best door direction(s), bedroom and living room and where feasible, plan your house layout to suit your family members. This step…

  3. Started by Smoque,

Dear Marci, Please see below:- -----Original Message----- Frankly, the rationale for finding the main entrance door is then to `calculate' the birth chart of the house. For this purpose, if we are not certain which door to use, a Feng Shui Master can do a calculation to find out which door is more suitable. In your case, for the `front' of the apartment, you could `soften' the wall by e.g. hanging a decorative painting to soften the wall e.g. a scenery painting or hanging a scroll. As for your back door, you can't do much here other than to `hide' the toilet e.g. close the door when not in use. Cecil

  4. Started by titch,

Dear Titch, Frankly, there are no `cures' available other than either to physically remove the mirror or the only other option you may want to consider is purchasing an `opaque film' to paste on to the mirror. Cecil -----Original Message-----

Dear Anon, 1. I believe, you are still young so try abit harder:) 2. It is best to watch your weight. There is not much in Feng Shui that relates to weight. 3. However, a sensible diet would usually help: 3.1 The Chinese often use the chopsticks to pick food. So that they are forced to eat slowly. You can still do so with the fork and spoon. 3.2 I am not sure if it will help but one should take breakfast, eat a healthy lunch and dinner. Avoid supper food. Here, it is believed that we burn more calories in the day time (activity) and at lower activity time, eat less. I believe that breakfast is the most important`meal' that should not be skipped. 4. For a mountain star, i…

  7. Dear Donna, Please Read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, February 13, 1999 3:49 PM Subject: Can i improve my health condition by applying FS? Thank you, we will continue to improve and develop new tools for easy access to FS. What you can do is perform a Eight House Calculation of yourself and check if you are sleeping and staying in the rooms which happens to be any of 4 bad directions. Then you might like to check the FS of your house, are there any bad stars such as the Misfortune Stars or Sickness stars in the rooms which you are staying in. As well as the main door…

  9. Started by MarkG,

Dear Mark, Firstly, East (Green Dragon) domain Logically East is the location of the rising sun and thus a Yang location. The Green Dragon is considered the most Yang of all Feng Shui animals. It is encouraged that plants can be grown here. West (White Tiger) domain The White is considered the most Yin of all Feng Shui animals. It is considered courageous and noble animal. It is also seen by many FS practioners as a fierce and determined animal. How can it be noble and yet `fierce.' One reason is that it is located at a Yin location and Yin refers to the `dead' and is considered not as favourable as the EAST or `rising sun' location. 3. Under the Landscape School of Feng…

  10. Please see below:- Yes, ideally, your head should face one of your 4 good directions. For example, if the South is your Nien Yen, your head should face this direction. It is still best to sleep in your present room especially if this is only a `make shift' room and also if it is small. One point to note is that this room should have a window as it is not auspicious to sleep in a room without a window. Under the Eight Association or Eight Aspirations or Life Aspirations, you can activate the South West corner of your room and (overall) in your South West corner of your house any `romantic' items e.g. a vase of rose; a valentine card, a photo frame of you and your…

  11. Can you elaborate further what you mean by `missing section' -- are you referring to your rectangular shaped house? At which direction is the missing corner? As for a triangular lot, where possible, you should do some landscaping to `remedy the situation. Do let me know the above.. thanks in advance! -----Original Message-----

  12. Dear Mariam, 1. It is very common to have partners with `totally opposite' good and bad directions. 2. When you look for a house, compare the layout plan with both partner's 8 house template. What you need to look out for is:- - Where possible, look out for the `Death / Disaster ' intangible forces. Try not to buy a house with these two intangible forces flowing into the Main door entrance or your bedrooms. For the main door entrance, this is particularly more important for the breadwinner. - In addition to this, areas where family members spent most time should preferably be under the influence of a good intangible force e.g. Health, Prosperity.... 3. In the worst…

  13. Started by cruzzz,

Dear Anthony What you have mentioned is the correct method i.e. , if your good intangible force is North, then your head should be pointing north and your feet pointing south. 14. Dear Karen, Yes you are correct. Rocks belong to the earth element. Crystals e.g. glass belongs to the water element. -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Friday, February 05, 1999 10:26 AM Subject: An author said all rocks are of the metal element.

  15. Dear Karen, 1. To the Chinese, a white tiger is particularly `inauspicious' or considered unlucky to see a white tiger especially one is gambling. In one legend, after 500 years, a certain tiger changed it's coat of fur and turned white. This is how we now call the West side of a buidling or house the " White Tiger ". If you have read the Four Symbolic Animals or Four Cosmic Animals concept at url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/four.htm, you will notice that on the East is the " Green Dragon ". 2. Both the East (Green Dragon) and West (White Tiger) are often used by Feng Shui Masters to relate to Feng Shui enhancements of ch'i or for feng shui cures. East (Green Dragon) dom…

  16. Dear Vincent, Indeed, I can verify the accuracy of Lillian Too's statement. A Feng Shui foot is equivalent to an imperial foot. By utilizing this precise measurement of 43 cm or roughly 17 inches as the diagonal of a square, we arrive at what Mathematicians refer to as the 'Magic or golden square'. The Feng Shui foot recurs every 43 cm [or 17 inches.] I previously penned a brief piece on this subject, accessible at the following link: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm I trust this information proves beneficial.

  18. Started by tatsu,

Dear Carol, Please see my reply below:- Thanks for bring up this interesting subject. Let me elaborate about Yin. Yin refers to softer materials e.g. "sof"t wood, light colours. "Soft" wood are e.g. pine even teak but not laminated wood decor. For colours, the use of light colours. Flooring made of wood pieces will enhance the yin in a room. This is why you notice that most bedrooms use parquet (wooden flooring) to enhance yin ... state of rest. Yang refers to `hard' materials e.g. glass table, metallic objects/table and even plastic and laminates on wood. Colours are vibrant e.g. bright colors. Flooring made of cold slabs of e.g. marble, homogenous tiles and other c…

Dear Eric, South-West sector is suppose to be a location that "encourages" harmony of interpersonal relationships and if at work i.e. teamwork. I am not sure if it can improve or attract love into your life by placing something there e.g. plants (but you can try) -- "no harm". Just wondering

Step 1: Generate the Eight House Template for each person you want to analyse. All template is displayed as a Top being North and Bottom being South. Step 2: Get a layout of your house. Find out where the north and south is. Step 3: a. Superimpose the Eight House Template (if is it on a transparency). b. Or mark it out on the layout of your house. c. Or simply look at it side by side. Step 4: You can see that the Template is divided into 8 direct…

  21. Started by eng2u,

The rationale for not placing a bed below a window is actually more for privacy than in Feng Shui. So long as the window is " matted " or uses opaque glass or a thin film that prevents someone from peering into the room. Another point is that if the whole area has a low ceiling but uniform, then this is not considered as a `column' or `beam' above one's head. Hope that helps.

  22. Started by tatsu,

Dear Carol, It is understandable to find computers in the bedroom. Personally, I also have 7 PCs connected in a network in my room. (No kidding!) Not including a TV set and two hi fi set... maybe this is how I create a more YANG environment so that I can stay glued to answering the constant `flood' of e-mails both in this forum and personal e-mails without the need for drinking coffee. *JOKE* The main points to note are:- 1. Try to make sure that the edge of the computer table does not point at the bed especially the head or body. This is considered adverse sha. (poison arrow) 2. Most new computer monitors have `matt' finish or `anti-glare' screens. This relates to the `…

  23. Started by eng2u,

Sorry, I hope you can clarify further what you mean by " we can only position the bed without headboard- directly under a window. " Do you mean to say that it is something similiar to a low ceiling or resembling a pillar. Thanks in advance!

Dear Vivian If you want to find out more about ley lines in relation to Feng Shui, you will be pleased to know that there is a book called:- " Amazing Scientific Basis of Feng Shui by Dr. Ong Hean-Tatt Ph. D, Malaysia " I also have a picture of the cover of the book under this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/books.htm To summarise, his books talks about water dowzing, the stongehenge etc... and the effects of undergound currents affecting homes that has the currents running under them. The members of these households have been studied and found to have higher incidences of cancer! Hope the above helps! P.S. A note of " warning ". If you think of buying this book to apply …

  25. Dear Jeffrey, If I am not wrong all the variations you may have heard should be correct. This is because in the Chinese Culture, we have different types of dialects, (eg. hokkien, cantonese, teo chew, har kar etc), These dialects pronounce the words slightly differently creating the variations. For example, lets take a surname Chen in Chinese. In Hokkien it is refered to as Tan. Etc. Both are correct, just that they are pronounced differently. If you want to be sure you can use the simplified Chinese pronouncation used in han yu ping yin, eg Feng1 Shui3 (not any dialect form of it.).
