Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: Question: If someone's house number is, as an example, 90 and their Kua number is 1, is there any benefit to penciling in a 1 to make the house number appear as if it is 190 or 901 (which would add up to a 1) even though it is really not? However, in your mailing address it will still be written as 90 right? So it is not going to really help instead it may make your postman frustrating to locate your home. As mentioned in many other post, auspicious number is really subjective and different people have different preference. I can tell you some people dislike 4, but there are others who will love it. The luck of a home does not come from …

Hi Cecil, We have moved into the house 6 months ago and are intending to install grills and windows at our backyard, which is in the North sector of the house (if i divide my floor plan with 9 grids). Is it not advisable to do so? If we really have to do it, what do we need to take note of? Just select an auspicious date based on our ba zi and do the "dong tu" knock wall procedure? Thanks much, Jo

Dear Albert, Thank you for your information. 1. For the graves, once it is exhumed properly and if there are no longer any more graves (left) on the site; the graves would usually not pose a problem. 2. As mentioned earlier, with construction activity that may usually take 2 years or more would effectively, neutralise any of the points under Para 1. 3. Although the land is on a slight depression, I believe normally the developers would first lay the foundation and most likely the car parks would be underground. The first level apartments would normally be higher than the depression. 4. It would be acceptable for the MRT tracks to run parallel (and this would not create …

  6. Dear Hoa Luong, I reproduce the method for calculating the steps for the beneifit of some of the users, here:- --- Start --- Introduction: 1. In Feng Shui, there are two traditional methods of determining the number of steps. 2. The first method is a 3 number combination. Where the first two steps are Auspicious but the last step is inauspicious. METHOD 1 - THE THREE-STEP CYCLE ======== 3. Thus under the `Three-steps formula' step No. 1 (Auspicious), Step No. 2 (Inauspicious) while Step No. 3 is considered inauspicious. Usually this 3rd step is known as the `death' step. 3.1 Thus:- Following this method, one should be able to work out the number of steps:- 3.2 A…

Dear Judy, Many of the photos of auspicious symbols provided under " MyPictures " http://my.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/imagefolio.cgi are standard Chinese symbols that are used widely in Chinese art. For example, many of the motifs are painted on porcelain figurines, plates and other cutlery. While other designs are found on `antique' rosewood furniture, or carved onto wooden panelling, window `grille designs', external wall facade decors, decorative panels in temples etc... Many of the motifs therefore can be found in Chinese `art' items including clothing, embrodiery, carpets etc... Thus, in my opinion, I would not exactly say that all designs will bring about `aus…

I am currently facing this problem regarding Auspicious Wedding Dates. I went to a FS master to choose date for my wedding in 2007 during late last year when the Tong Shu is not out yet. He gave a booklet of computerised Auspicious Wedding Dates till 2008 for me to choose. He said the date is match according to me n my hubby BaZhi. And ask me not to refer to calender. Recently my mum found out that the date we choosen 20 Oct 2007 is good date but NOT A GOOD date for Wedding (JI Hoon Jia or avoid wedding) from the tong shu. Now we are stuck. We have ask the FS master whether is that day good or not he say is good. And i ask him whether it is better to get marriend on a day…

Dear Anon, 1. The concept: "If it cannot be seen it is no longer a threat" applies here. 2. Therefore, IF, your unit or apartment is higher than the water tank which is often enclosed in a metal container; this is often not a threat to you. 3. But if your unit faces the water tank; often, we perceive this as an 'ugly sight'. Thus, the sight of such tanks - often has to do more with "Human or Man" factors i.e. our visual perception, than actually Feng Shui. It is not like the tank is going to burst open etc... 4. On a commonsense approach to Feng Shui, it has to do more with the idea that if the roof is inadequately reinforced, there may be a situation that it could collap…

    1. For free auspicious date for the NEXT 30 days:- http://dates.geomancy.net 2. Thus if you are looking atFREE dates, then wait until closer to december to look at thedates. 3. Please note that usually; one should look only at the male breadwinner or in addition ofthe spouse combineddates. 4. If one wants to look at auspicious dates for more than three persons; onehas to be real serious! As most of the time, itmay be hard to find auspicious dates already for two persons. But for three persons? Have you wondered thatin some cases, there may only be auspicious dates perhaps every two months. (Thisdwellmore on looney tunes...)

  19. Dear Joe, Although colours are of `secondary' importance in Feng Shui, from my own opinion, in the past, I `brushed' aside the notion of wearing colours that suits us. But looking back, I really find no harm in chosing clothes that suit a person. Like the saying goes " no harm playing it safe ". When I next shop for clothings, I will continue to buy shirts and trousers that suit me. In fact so far, my favourite colours since young turned out to be the colour that suits me. I personally believe that as white stands for the Metal element, it can also be considered a neutral colour. Therefore, for a person of Strong Metal element, in my opinion may continue to wear white or …

Dear Oliv Sillivan, To avoid lawsuits, you have to check out where is the Lu Chun Xing (Star 3 - Wood) under the flying star analysis. If there are such stars present in areas such as your main door, frontage, bedroom or study room which you use. These are the stars you want to neutralise so as to reduce any such lawsuits/conflicts. The solution is to have more Metal.Fire is also possible so long as there is no Star 2/5 present. These are the stars normally associated with the Lawsuit issues. However, beside that, we always advise users to do a full assessment of your home, check out whether there are any major leaks such as:- 1. House is death / disaster to the occup…

Dear Anon, Frankly, if you DIY one should preferably look at what are the combination of stars in each of the sectors even if the sector has #5:- For example, logically before jumping into conclusions, we need to really find out what is the current 20 Year Flying Star in a specific sector:- E.g. If South sector has #1 with #6 and base #8 . And if #5 fly's in no issue, here. For one, there is #6 = big metal etc... Sensibly just monitor the situation, first. I believe, this forum already has mentioned several types of cures relating to star #5. In terms of colours, try to avoid: BRIGHT YELLOW and if the room has a combination of #5 (earth = bad yellow) fuelled by #9 (f…

Dear Anon, The best `cure' would be to use a screen. For such cases, the screen or a partition need not reach up totally to the ceiling. It merely needs to `hide' the door. Here, `if one cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Gabriel, Please see below:- 24 is actually the 24 directions or mountains under the Flying Star Feng Shui. Where each sector of the compass i.e. 360 degrees is divided by 15 degree increments which results in 24 directions or mountains. East/West Group is also known as Eight House and basically, it is finding the house compass direction and `slotting' the house into either North , South, East, West, NE, SE, SW, NW or 8 compass directions. Under the Flying Star Feng Shui not only is the house Feng Shui if a house is at `North' one must determine which of the North sectors it belongs to. For example in the Flying Star you have:- Direction ========= North 1 North 2…
