Dear Cecil: I'm a Strong Water (70% water, 18% metal, 8% wood, 4% earth, 0% fire). Here's my dilemma with house hunting: 1) House 1 faces West, my Excellent direction. But West is Metal which is my Worst element. 2) House 2 faces East, my Death direction. But East is Wood, which is my Best element. Both houses were built in period 7. Both are beautiful and in nice locations. Which house should I choose? Many Thanks and wishing you a HAPPY, HEALTHY, PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. Hoa

Hello and thank you in advance for your time. My wife and I are thinking about building a new home and I feel like I need a better understanding on some of the subtilties of geomancy. First, stairways. Isn't every step potentially a small poison arrow? Can I reduce this using a rounded "nose" on the ledge of my steps? Also, what should I think about "non-full" stairways, where the steps are "floating" and we can see through. Does that prevent the Chi from going up? Second, doorways. How much consideration should be put into addressing the poison arrows coming from corners of doorways? I mean doorways are necessary in some fashion. Could it be that the…

Hi Master Lee, My husband and I are planning on having a small house built and I would like you to take a look at our house plan to determine if there are any Feng Shui improvements that can be made to the general layout of the plan. I also have some specific questions below: 1. The main front of the house faces between the S and SE direction, which faces the right side of our land when looking from the street. It does not face the front / street of the property. We chose this direction to allow for future expansion of the property on the left and right sides of the house, and it is considered an auspicious direction for the Kua numbers of my husband and I…

Dear Elena, Please see below:- Although a U shaped house is not ideal but overall, it is still acceptable design. Yes, the addition can still be made six months after they move in. Please email to robert-lee@3dmail.com so that he can provide you with a free credit to generate the month auspicious date. Here, you need to obtain the breadwinner's date of birth (time optional) and if the month of reno is clear, use the report to find out a good date to start the renovation. The above looks ok to me. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master Lee a good day to start work this year according to your guide would be: 13th February = 2nd Lunar Day 15th February = 4th Lunar Day ++ 17th February = 6th Lunar Day however according to your auspicious dates, catered to my birth day/time, 14th February is the only very auspicious day. I manage a branch office that I can start work any time own my own and my team workers can start any time later too. What does “start work” actually mean; does it mean for individual or for benefit of company? I am thinking if Sunday is a good day, I will start work on Sunday in office for a few hours, issue a receipt and make that my start. My te…

Dear Master Lee, I am in the midst of house hunting and would like to seek your advice. Do all 3 South facing houses (S1, S2, S3) face the Direct Spirit (正神)in Period 9? However, only S1 has double 9 facing stars whereas S2 & S3 are double 9 sitting stars. Is facing Direct Spirit more important or double facing stars when it comes to choosing the most auspicious house in Period 9? Thank you.

Hi, I recently moved into a new condo and just realized there is a river behind my condo. My balcony is facing the river and it is not visible at all covered by trees. But you can hear the river. My question, since the river is not visible, does it still have significant effects (be it good or bad) on my fengshui ?

Dear Mei Lee, Generally, it has more to do with "commonsense approach" to Feng Shui. This is because, if the site / slope is "well maintained" it is fine. But in some cases, such as poor piling done and due to heavy (or very heavy rainfall), and if the slope is not protected, we often see pictures on houses on the "hill" breaking up or the slope causing a landslide - coming down to the lower home. Frankly, this is quite rare. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, I have just bought a house with a land shape of a right angled trapezium. The back of the house is where the slant of the trapezium is. Is a land shaped like this a bad feng shui? Is there any remedy to it?

Good day, Master Cecil! The electric company just placed a post right innfront of our house entrance. It is not directly in front of the main door, but seems to slice through the small peeping window beside the main door. It can also be seen clearly through the big foyer window. Will hanging a crystal chandelier inside the foyer help? Kindly see attached photo. Thank you!

Hello - first off, thank you so much for providing your insight and wisdom. I have enjoyed reading your analysis over the years and am finally moving to a new home where I will be able to remodel the entire interior layout as I see fit. The only thing set in stone is the facing direction (NE1), which I am totally happy with. Given my freedom, I was curious of what you thought of my analysis and more specifically, where you think I should place the living room, bathroom, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, office, storage, and workshop. What is listed on the floorplan is just how it is currently laid out, but none of it is set in stone. Thank you again and have a blessed start …

My husband is metal (7) and I'm an earth (8). Our house facing direction is east (build in 2018 roof finished)/2019). Meaning that our most favorable sleeping shared sleeping direction would be west as all our walls face a north/south/east/west. Our current bedroom would have this sleeping position under a window, but facing the door in a good position. We have mountain star 8 and water star 8 and time star 1 in this bedroom. If we would lay under the window we would be sleeping in western direction. Currently we sleep in southern direction to a blind wall in a 3(m) 4(w) 5 (t) area. It is possible to relocate our bedroom to a room where we can position our bed …

Hi, Am looking at changing my Main Door. Currently they are 2 equal sized leaf withbeach leaf being less than 1m width. We usually opens only 1 leaf and find that leaf being a little too narrow. I was thinking to replace it with unequal sized 2 leaf door. i.e. Wider side (at least 1m in width) for frequent use. However, my friend mentioned 2 different sized leaf main door creates inequality in gender or something. Can you advise? Thank you.

These are some considerations: 1. It depends! 1.1. In a neighbourhood school and within a non-streaming class; if we were to grade the students in a class, it would form a "Bell curve". 1.2. Thus, even within various condos whether they are in the NE or other parts of SGP; in many instances, also, each stack and even in some instances, different storeys would also often take the profile of a "Bell curve". 2. Frankly, there are two approaches: 2.1. In the past and current; common sense says that bring along all family members to view the place. Thus, if one does not want to get a specific Feng Shui service like Can or cannot buy; then continue to view based on personal fee…

Dear Constance King, constance king wrote: hello cecil, am wondering as weak water does it matter if i should wear yellow gold or white gold or rose gold as long as it is metal? Generally, in feng shui, we can define an item by the material or shape or colour. You see most items you can't run away from the material it is made from. So in your above case, all are metal material. Butut if you look at the colours, then you can add another level of five element analysis. For example, Yellow gold is more Earth, white gold is more Metal, rose gold is more pinkish is more Fire element. If you look at it from a pratical standpoint. White Gold will draw less attention as it …

Dear Cecil, My brother owns a beautiful East facing house which he wants to sell to me. I'm a strong water, and East is wood. From the elemental view, that's good, but I haven't bought the house because East is also my death direction. If I'm a renter instead of an owner, will I still be affected by the death direction?

Hi, I’ve been having a lot of bad luck (and I guess energy) since moving into this condo. Bad luck with my car, almost a bad accident, pet dog gets injured frequently, body aches, possible health issues, etc. just all very strange and coincidental since moving in here. This unit belongs to my partner and we cannot move out because of this, and structural changes aren’t possible. I noticed today that our balcony door faces right into a long street and coming from a family that believes in feng shui, I believe this is the cause of my sudden bad luck and energy since living here the last few months. Any tips on how to deflect the rushing bad energy into o…

Dear Master, I read several other reference thread pertaining T-junction. I have a situation here whereby unit (highlighted in red) is facing a bomba service lane (suspected to be super minimal traffic, but who knows). The gate will be 2 cars width, means there will be close to no wall. Bomba lane should be standard 4.5m width. What kind of gate design would further improve the potential sha qi in this instance. Thanks in advance in any advice.

I have visited 2 showrooms for property under construction to buy a house for my own stay. 1st property, I have met a beggar in front of the showroom asking for moment which I ignored. Later the beggar shouted when I enter the showroom. 2nd property, it was drizzling on my way to the showroom, and rain heavily on my way back. Is there any indication? Personally I prefer 1st property, however was disturbed by the situation that I face when visiting the showroom. Need kind help to advise. Thank you. Additionally, is there anything wrong in terms of fengshui in staying in level 4 (or 3A)? Or beside a hospital? Thanks.

1. Is the fengshui for this stacked building good for business? The lower levels are for retail and level 4 onwards are for office use. I am looking to rent an office unit there and wonder if it’s better to be on the lower stack or higher stack. 2. When you look out of the window, because the unit is at the zig zag stacked side, you’ll see an extra vacant space / platform that is higher than the inside ground of the unit. Is there anything wrong with this? 3. Is it correct to say if the unit does not share the same wall as the building toilet, is it ok?
