  1. Started by myfs_131378,

Dear Leigh, In my opinion, many traditional practitioners of Feng Shui strongly believe that we should not reverse the readings for the southern hemisphere. I am not going to comment on the use of the "fixed template" or the placement of a "fixed" bagua onto a layout plan as this is a modern invention. And not widely practised by Traditional School(s) of Feng Shui. The example of water draining out of the sink the opposite site which differs clockwise or anti-clockwise between the North and South hemispere is often used by those who reverse the readings. There are lots of arguments against this such as the Five Elements Concept: Metal - Water - Wood - Fire - Earth ce…

  2. Started by wasis,

Dear Wasis, 1. A simple circular mirror, is the least obstrusive of all " Ba Gua " mirrors. 2. Normally a concave Ba Gua mirror is used against " poison arrows " or Sha Qi e.g. street lamps, lone tree slicing the main entrance door. 3. On the other hand, a convex Ba Gua mirror is (like all other Ba Gua mirror) another form of protection. Here, it is mostly used to protect the home occupants by bad qi energies or perceived bad energies. Usually, this type of Ba Gua mirror is based on the specific recommendation by a Feng Shui Master on the usage. Otherwise, one normally use either the " flat round mirror " i.e. the least offensive towards the neighbours to the more common…

  3. Started by myfs_90585,

Dear Anon, BA GUA MIRROR WAR Unfortunately, this is a lose-lose situation. It would have been best if (earlier) you did not place a convex ba gua mirror. By doing so, it would be a `natural thing' for your neighbour to place another mirror to deflect your mirror. In fact, now it is the opposite situation: instead of (you) first putting up a Ba gua mirror, now your convex is now instead used to deflect the ba gua. Anyway, as mentioned earlier, this is a lose-lose situation on both sides. Perhaps, at a later stage, (since) you were the first to place it up, see if u can swallow your pride and speak to the neighbour to see if both sides can remove it. (If you can). Warmest R…

  6. Dear Anon, Yes, I do agree with you that there are many different opinions on the Ba Gua mirror. 1. We can look at it primarily under two broad categories:- 1.) With a religious inclination 2.) To protect against Sha Qi such as a house with the main entrance facing a `T' junction or other poision arrows. 2. The advice provided is also based on the inclination of the practitioner. For example, if the practitioner is `deeply rooted' in religious beliefs, he/she may ask their customers to use a Ba Gua mirror for almost every door of the house i.e. the main entrance, the kitchen door and the backdoor (facing outwards). 3. Some practitioners even are not convinced about the Ba…

Dear Anon, Thank you for your layout plan. From the looks of your building there is relatively no need for a Ba Gua mirror. Since your main door, behind it is well protected from any Sha Qi. If there is a need to place a Ba Gua mirror, I have attached the location marked by a red dot. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carrie, Please see below:- 1. The Bagua trigram (which includes the Bagua mirror has to be display outside of the house e.g. above a door. 2. As there is another question on the same subject in the next recent forum message, I will touch on it in that message. 3. There is no basis for a Bagua mirror to be placed to enhance a situation if the location it faces is an auspicious location unless to `ward off evil'. A bagua mirror is commonly used for:- 1. To neutralise Sha Qi or poision arrow aimed at e.g. the main entrance door or a window. Here it is place above the main entrance door (at the centrepoint). 2. In Asia, it is very common for Feng Shui practioners wh…

  9. Started by Madan Seda,

Dear Madan, When you make use of the Eight House chart, one should also consider the following: 1. Where possible find out what is the intangible force at the main entrance for the breadwinner. It will give you a feel of how suitable the house is. The most unsuitable house is one where the death/disaster intangible force flows through the main entrance door. 2. Do note that the Eight House Theory can tell you your personal best directions to sleep or sleep closer to. In this aspect, Eight House Theory cannot be used to analyse for `cures' or enhancements. 3. A very important aspect is to check the house under the Shapes and Form School. I understand that there is alot of…

Hi I would like to know more about ba zhi of me and my partner. My D.O.B 30/3/1982 Time: 10pm, whilst my partner's is 27/6/1981, 10:55am. I found my element is water and his is fire. Water and fire are always against of each other. So does it mean we are not compatible?

    Started by Guest,

Dear Chin Teck, In my opinion, what you had mentioned, is often not the best approach. For example, if a person is missing water, it does not mean nor imply that this person should perhaps literally drink twice more water than the common person. Alternatively, if lacks earth, one must `eat' dirt all the time. Although the above is taken to the extreme, it does not mean that if one lacks metal, one must wear rings or chains etc... Worse still, one may easily get robbed! For a Chinese, it would be best if we can do something other than to `wear' something. The most logical method is to look at one's name and add such elements to the name. For example, if one lacks water and…

Hi Master. I have a question regarding Ba Zi personal dressing colors. I understand the importance of wearing the most suitable colors according to our element needs, but it’s some times difficult to convince women and young children to follow that. So, I wonder if special jewellery with elements marks ( fire, water etc) could suit the requirements of Ba Zi, bypassing the limitations for the dress code. Thank you

Dear Mr. Foo, You see each section of the Luck flow is analysed individually. Meaning, that the 10-year luck is analysed only on 10-yearly luck. It does not use the 5-yearly luck to determine whether it is Auspicious or Inauspicious. So the same thing here is the yearly luck is analysed on it's own to give you a grading whether the year is Auspicious / Average / Inauspicious for example. A year can be Average, but have Very auspicious 6-monthly luck which only means to say that that year though is average is of a much better year compared to another year that is Average, but have Inauspicious 6-nthly luck. However, it isn't as good as a year that is Very Auspicious, a…

It is recommended that oneshould be convinced or at least find out which is more accurate. With this, discard the reading that was done differently. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Under what circumstances can an element in the chart (Water in this demo case), when combined with another element, lose its own elemental status and change to another element (Earth in this demo case)? This one you will need to read up on detailed ba zi analysis. There are couple of combinations and clashes and under what situations they will combine permanently and when they combine just for that moment when they meet. This is often beyond a basic ba zi reading. So you have to do your own research on this, as I don't have time to list out all the different combination rules and situationsavailable. All the rules are already programmed into t…

  21. Dear Anon, Often, this mix of element analysis has more to do with name selection. For example, a grand father or father of a new born often will visit a Geomancer to select a name for the child. The geomancer will look at the mix of the new born's 5 elements. For example, in a similar case such as yours, you have excessive fire i.e. 55% fire in your "mix-of-chart". In such a senario, often, the geomancer will firstly, avoid selecting one of the characters say, in your name with an "earth" element. And for example, in your chart, wood is your wealth or if you have 0 percent wood in your chart; the geomancy could perhaps, add "wood" into your name. Therefore, hope you…

Dear Anon, Quote: Anonymous wrote: When determining the directions in a room, do we just read from a compass? Coz I read that in feng shui, 0deg is the south. This makes me think that I need to invert the readings of a compass. Try not to be confused with the Chinese Luopan often used by Feng Shui practitioners where not exactly "0 degrees = south" but rather, the Chinese Luopan has a marking South-North. If you do not personally use the Chinese Luopan to take a compass reading, frankly, and for the purpose of convenience, many Feng Shui websites, books and calculators have already, properly made it easy for the lay person. Dear GA, Usually, the confusion arise because of two "concepts":- 1. Based on the `unrecognised' Black Hat Sect concept, according to this "method" which is not recognised by all Traditional Feng Shui Schools; the template used here is "fixed" i.e. the template is the same for every home. 2. If you mentioned about the Eight House template, you can visit this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm for a step-by-step guide in the proper use of the Eight House template. 2. Briefly, get a layout plan. Mark out the true compass direction i.e. North-South direction as measured using say an ordinary compass. 3. Next, align the Eight House template, using the North-South as a…
