Hi all! I'm looking for a Resale flat now and was attracted to the Waterway Terraces for it's unique look and convenience. As part of my research, I chanced upon your review of the "less bad" units in Terrace 2, was wondering if there was something similar for Waterway Terrace 1? Also, is the Feng Shui so bad to a point where it's really a no go? Or can we potentially fix it after? Cheers, J

This are some considerations: 1. Common sense Feng Shui 1.1. The stove should not be too close to a sidewall especially if later, one needs to place a large wok onto the stove. Here, if the wall is too close; the wok simply can't be placed onto the stove. In addition, if the stove is too close to the wall, flames will get to it. 1.2. For the Chinese, we often fry our food; thus it is often not a good idea to place any other items be it a cabinet or a fridge too close to the stove. Here, after a few months, the side of the fridge would often be soaked with deposits of cooking oil. 1.3. The stove should not have the neighbour's drainage pipe or sewerage pipe above the stove…

  6. Hello we are trying to arrange our living/ dining room and buy a new sofa. Unfortunately we have a rectangle shaped room with a lot of windows! The only workable place to put the sofa (that would put it against a wall- also a good idea as we have a climbing toddler who likes to climb the sofa) puts the side of the sofa in direct line of the front door- although there is/ will be a cabinet for shoes or a buffet against the wall closer to the front door and there is a distance of around 4m-5m from the front door to the sofa. Is this still a bad place to put the sofa- or, are there any other positions you could suggest given the room layout? If it is a bad place to…

Greetings Master Lee, I recently discovered your site and just love it! 1) Regarding a new home purchase, I am wondering what to do about a house we like since the property has good front door frontage for me (SE) but not for my husband. We actually have opposite directions in everything. Wondering if my husband entered the house from the back door (NW) would that correct the problem for him? 2) Also the location of the bedroom is an irritation for one of us is there anyway to remedy a location issue since there are no other bedrooms better for us? 3) What do you recommend regarding the FS steps to purchasing a home? What does a consult cover? …

Dear Master, I read of the importance of having square or rectangular bedrooms to provide stability and good "Qi" movements. As I am planning to do some renovation works, I am exploring the option to build a partition and 'create' a more separate rectangular bedroom for my sleeping area. However, I am concerned about ventilation and mobility issues if I were to seal up part of my room. Furthermore, Feng Shui is also about functionality and I was wondering if there are other ways to circumvent the problem of the irregular shape of my bedroom. I do have an attached toilet and a small path leading into the room. For easy reference, I have attached a rough sketch of my p…

  13. Dear Anon, 1. If you can, try to close the window with the day curtain. 2. Often, some people, hang an open scissors at the window grille (symbolic) of `cutting-open' it or not caged. 3. If both your house and the neigbhour's house is in close proximity, then for the moment, it is still better to: 3.1 First choice hang a convex ba gua mirror facing the `threat'. 3.2 An alternative is to hang a mirror but often this mirror should be rectangular 8inch by 8 inch mirror. Until the neighbour remove the scissors, then it is best to protect your home. (No choice!) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hello Master, I'm looking to purchase a new home and came across this property and wanted some advice on if this will be an auspicious home to buy? I have asked several people with conflicting advice. Some say the water in the back of the home is not good Feng Shui but I've also read that if there's a water view in front, this could be consider the frontage? There are mountains on both side in the distance and the ocean is about 5 mins away driving. The river in the back/front of the home actually flows into the ocean. If I bought and remodel this house for period 9, should I have the auspicious double 9 facing the river or the other way around? It is the home…

Hello! i came across this forum and the advise given here is really practical and interesting. I’ve been looking all over the internet for this problem which I might potentially encounter- three doors facing each other- and I’ve only come across one post that addresses it. Imagine this: 2 bedroom doors facing each other (master and common bedroom) and in between them is a common bathroom. I’ve attached a picture of something that represents this. And all these rooms lead out to an opening that leads to the living area. I understand that 2 doors, especially of bedrooms, facing each other is bad and may lead to arguments. I read somewhere that 3 doors forming…

  17. Dear Anon, 1. One method to address this situation is to position the ancestor tablet to the left of the table when facing the altar, ensuring that the table is slightly lower than the deity located on the right. 2. Historically, some individuals have constructed a niche directly above the refrigerator to accommodate their ancestor tablet. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cecil, Thank you for your reply.Yes it was helpful! Mybedroomhave7 5 2 stars in it. All 3 are not great numbers. So I understood that I am to use metal and water elementsfor that room. Last year the annual star #2 fly inmy current bedroom which made it 7 5 2 2. Whatis the best treatment for that room... more metal items? wood? This year it is 75 2 1, On the report I ordered from you..I got puzzled.. 20 year chart says for 7 2 make use of water to exhaust and weaken Metal Annual 5 1 make use of Metal to exhaust and weaken earth. If you weaken the metal then the metal can't weaken the earth. If I put more water like strong blue paint in my bedroom, it will mak…

  22. Dear Jeffrey, If I am not wrong all the variations you may have heard should be correct. This is because in the Chinese Culture, we have different types of dialects, (eg. hokkien, cantonese, teo chew, har kar etc), These dialects pronounce the words slightly differently creating the variations. For example, lets take a surname Chen in Chinese. In Hokkien it is refered to as Tan. Etc. Both are correct, just that they are pronounced differently. If you want to be sure you can use the simplified Chinese pronouncation used in han yu ping yin, eg Feng1 Shui3 (not any dialect form of it.). Warmest Regards Robert Lee -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients o…

These are some (common sense) considerations: 1. Take the example of a class of students. Majority of the time, the norm is that their results may be like a BELL curve. 1.1. There are always TOP students e.g. Top 1st, 2nd and 3rd. 1.2. There are those in between 10th boy/girl to 20th place. 1.3. There are those 21st to the last boy. 2. It is the same thing. 2.1. Normally in a development, there are excellent to lemon stacks unit. 2.2. Common sense says that if your choice stack (or the unit that one has chosen) can behave:- 2.2.1. Some units are a polished or unpolished GEM. Thus even if it does not suite the breadwinner, it does not really matter that much. 2.2.2. Other…

Dear Fiona, 1. For situation for pearl string and parent string or whatever, it is always best to match the layout to the flying star chart. For example, key numbers like #8 mountain and water should be in an appropriate sector. Therefore, ideally as many sectors can be activated for the pearl string to benefit from it. This is where hopefully, good sectors are not locked at toilets / storeroom etc. Thus, this kind of charts must specifically be located at the rooms most beneficial. The saying goes " a miss is as good as a mile " 2. You will still have to cure the star 2, 5 etc. The difference is that the pearl string combination is all about enhancement but this does no…

  25. Dear Master Cecil, Happy Chinese New Year to you. I miss the drumming and lion dance since leaving Singapore 20yrs ago, its quiet here with giant kangaroos dancing instead, and thawed imported expensive thai durians and HongKong fortune cookies from supermarket, never quite the same celebratory chi! I am amazed by the depth of fengshui ancient knowledge that I only recently felt guided to read u. And research books etc. maybe it is Master Lao Tzu that had been in my dreams trying to wake me up to the truth of our existence as the unnameable dancing TAO!
