Dear Carrie, Grateful if you can clarify what is the `brass things'. 1. Usually, avoid sharp cornered objects as it can inadvertendly be a posion arrow. 2. Small objects in relation to the size of the room has minimal or no effects provided they are not symbolic of inauspicious objects such as an unkown figurine that deplicts e.g. a "monster" etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kaushal, 1. Generally, if one finds pictures pleasing to the eye, there is really no hard or fast rule in the placement. 2. The pictures that one should avoid are those that symbolically represent fierce animals, hanging of swords of such sort. Otherwise, hang pictures at locations which you or your family member `likes'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Hiii, The origin of this has more to do with commonsense than Feng Shui as traditional Chinese homes do not have a bedroom above the kitchen. (Especially if the is built on wooden material). Therefore, this is more of a commonsense that has been added to Feng Shui in modern times. As we are aware, fire moves or spread upwards or thru an opening e.g. windows. Which may reach the upper floors. Here, it would make more sense to `invest' in smoke detectors i.e. in the kitchen (which should be loud enough) to warn anyone staying in the home. If need be, the room above, or passage way leading towards the room could also be installed with fire detectors / and a handy fire e…

Dear Mercury, Further to my earlier reply, I like to share with everyone more on the toilet:- For those of you who had taken the Applied Feng Shui course would have a seen a graphic illustration of what are the bad or inauspicious locations for the toilet. (Besides other inauspicious locations shown in another illustration). If you have observed closely, all the bad or inauspicious locations fall `exactly' on the Eight compass directions. For example, True: North 0 degrees, South 180 degrees, East 90 degrees, West 270 degrees and Cardinal points: North-East e.g. 45degrees, South-East 135 degrees, South-West 225 degrees and North-West 315 degrees. What you can learn here? …

Dear Kenny, Kenny Ng wrote: My bed and desk position is facing the bad position and i need to know how do i counter it if i cant move them to other position. The reports said that my both bed and desk have to face SOUTHWEST or NORTHEAST for the best position. I did read some previous posts about this problem and u recommended them to change the color of their room. I am not sure what color must i paint my room to overcome it but i am a STRONG METAL as the reports said and my room is currently light blue. If you cannot change the position of your bed due to the restriction of the room. Then the only way is to attempt to improve your luck by choosing the colour scheme that…

Dear Ling Hui, 1. Attached please find the various options for best siting of a single bed. 2. Please note that the layout does not take into account of date of birth. 3. It is best to place the bed based on the attached illustration under the file: sf-bed-position.gif 4. An added bonus is (if the bed) can be positioned under the file: sf-bed-position-favourable.gif Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sandy, Yes, it makes practical sense for the 4-poster bed to be covered with fabric or lace. - OK, no issue. As it makes it easy to "maintain" i.e. wash and re-use again. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Peck Wun, If the figurine looks ambigious, it is best to cover it first, especially if it is an old furniture. Overall, if the figurine is not facing directly towards the bed but facing outwards, there is, in my opinion, not a real concern. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. To the Chinese, it is inauspicious to have the legs facing outwards towards the bedroom door. This is often called the `coffin' position. (Where, traditionally, we bring out a dead person: legs first - head later out of a home. 2. A bed need not be farther away from the door, but as mentioned, it is best not to face the door. (For privacy, it is preferred that we often do not want to sleep too close to the door.) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Quote: Anonymous wrote: If my MBR door and Main door both have the same facing, is it true that I can't place my bedheadagainst the opposite wall facing the bedroom door (even if not in any direct alignment)? 1. Feng Shui is also based on commonsense. And often, many of us don't feel good especially when we lie on the bed and can see the bedroom door over-looking the main door. It is often this "feel-uneasy" factor that we should consider. As all these have more to do with "human luck" i.e. feel not so easy kinda of situation. Quote: Also, if a particular facing of the bed is good for my husband but not good for me, is there any remedy, assuming that's the only possi…

Hi! Master Lee Thanks for your earlier advice. My house was built in 1987, so it is still under Period 7, instead of period 8. Thus, the Xuan Kong Fei Xing for my bedroom (North-East Direction) are #5, #9 and #1, the year flying star is #4, instead of #9, #7 and #2. In this case, shall I hang 6 emperor's coins with red string at my bedroom's window or bed head? Or it is better to place a bronze Hulu at my bed head?Or where should I place it and can I recycle the 6 coins which I used them in my previous house? My husband sleeps under a ceiling light and his waist is right under it. That's why sometimes he feels that his waist is a bit pain. Besides, moving bed, what i…

Dear Tonya, Usually, in selecting the home, emphasis must be placed on several *IMPORTANT* factors: 1. You should try to evaluate each house and their Shapes and Form. It is not good if the facing direction of the door is a good direction for you or your husband but subsequently, there is a major flaw in the Shapes and Form of the house. 2. Flying Star. There is an optional report under www.geomancy-online.com where it will advise you on all 24 directions of the Flying Star in relation to your Eight house. The Flying Star analysis tries to find a house with a good `Birth chart'. While the Eight house is to determine how suitable the house is to you. 3. Thus it is not so s…

Dear Seco, Though Eight House suitability and bed placement are important, but even more important is actually the shapes and form placement of the bed within the bedroom itself. Often, the shapes and form principles will have higher priority than, Eight House. So generally we try to follow this room:- 1. The bedroom sector within the house itself should if possible fall under any of the 4 better eight house sector. 2. Bed placement within the room should first suit the shapes and form, ie a solid wall behind where you can see the door and window. 3. Only if possible under the shapes and form arrangement, such as to place the bed North or East facing, only then can y…

Dear Anon, Here, the principle of `since one cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat' cannot be applied. This is because, the bed is not a poison arrow where, the threat can be neutralised if it is covered up from This is because, symbolically, you are still sleeping on the bed. (Even though, it is say covered with a bed sheet). No matter how, one is still `smbolically' sleeping on the same `divided' bed. At the moment, I cannot think of any solution with this divide. However, one can still use the Flying Star to check whether there is any inauspicious stars particularly at the bedroom especially the bad star relating to romance. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I have read that you should always keep the toilet lid closed -especially when you flush it. It may also be good to put a plant at some point between your bed and the the toilet and to try to keep the bathroom door closed as much as possible. I hope this helps. Good luck with the coming of your new baby!

Dear Randy, Please see below: It is fundamentally more important to follow the Shapes and Form School e.g. the Four Symbolic Animals Concept i.e. have a solid support of the wall. In addition, it is nice to sleep with the head facing a good direction but this is secondary after sleeping in a good auspicious location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I have my bed facing the door. It will not fit any other way. The room is small. Any cures? Also I have two rooms with missing sections. In our office, we are missing the NE section. Using the sections arranged with the door as career section, it would be the helpful people section. In the bedroom, we are missing the SE section. Using the sections as arranged with the door at the career section, it would be the creativity/children and the helpful people sections that are missing. Any cures for these missing sections? Thank you.

Hi Cecil Shifu, Thank you so much for your reply. Your advice has given me some peace of mind. Knowing the pro & con of the partition, I now know what precaution to take if I proceed with it. Our children will have their own room and thus, I can place our own bed slightly further away from the stagnant area and hope to get better air ventilation. Good to have pointed out the bed head in bedroom 2 to me. We will shift it further from the point where we will place our TV in master bedroom.

Dear Michal, 1. Many elements of "Shapes and Form" School of Feng Shui is about commonsense approach. 2. The main thing one should remember is that we should make the `room' fit us rather than to "re-design" ourselves to fit the environment. 3. Here, it does not sound appropriate for you to fit into the "principles of FS" based on the book, do re-examine, what you would have done if you have not picked up the book on Feng Shui. 4. Under the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui, things should be `natural' e.g. placing the bed at a location where one feels comfortable. For example placing the bed against a solid wall. 5. Only after one has done the above and have the luxury…

Dear Anon, If I get what you mentioned correctly, this is a `coffin position'. Yes, you can hang a curtain from the ceiling. So long as it covers the bed (leg) portion this is acceptable. You need to block it up to the level where you sleep on the bed. Further down e.g. the legs of the bed, this is not necessary. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Josephine, Please see below: I will be moving to a new I am concerned 1) The 1.1 Does your LEGs face the door? There is no major issue if part of the bed faces the bedroom door. But, where possible, one's legs should avoid facing the bedroom door. 1.2 As this is known as the inauspicious `coffin' position. 1.3 Frankly, the only remedies are: - a. (silly to say this: But can the bed be moved to another location? If Para 1.1 is taken into consideration) - b. close the bedroom door when sleeping - c. place a low linen cabinet at the foot of the bed. - d. (Last resort) have a `curtain' like structure e.g. beading screen at the bedroom door. 2) The Th…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: my master bedroom bed is in same alignment of my bedroom door. however, the bed is facing the full glass window. is this okay? When you mentioned the bed is in the same alignment of the main door, do you mean that it is anchored to the wall where the main door is located? This means the window is opposite the bed. If I got the above correct, then ideally, the best placement is where you seleep, you can see the door. The purpose is so that if anyone enters, you will know or be aware of it. In the past, this is especially so that one can take precaution especially if it is a thief entering. However, if there is no other way to place the bed, …

Dear Elena, Oops! I am sleeping on one myself! Yes, this is a very common type of design! Many of us (or the likes of us) have slept on such a bed / bed-head frame... for many years! Why not... let's start burning all those books that says that it's bad! Cheers! Cecil Elena Oldham wrote: It is a very popular style for the bed head board to be in the form of a half circle or "hill" I call it. It is low on the sides and rises up in the middle. After the fact, I read in one of the books that it is bad to have a head board in the shape that resembles the chinese coffin. Is this true and can any remedy be applied?
