Dear Jocelyn, Please see below:- In traditional Feng Shui, the original Eight House Theory is that if the main door is facing north, but you are sitting South, Eight House calls this a South facing house. Nowdays, with majority of users familiar with the ordinary compass direction and layout, when we talk about a `South' facing house, most people would assume that the main door is at the South. This is why when the Xuan Kong Fei Xing (Flying Star Theory) it is no longer called a South house etc.. but in Chinese, it is called `Sit South' and `Face North'. Under this description there is no way one can make a mistake as it is clearly `spelt …

Please see below:- Yes, you did the right thing. In Feng Shui, it is always best to have the stove face the Fire element direction. Yes, this is not ideal but it is better than having it next to a water element e.g. wash basin or refrigerator. The good news is that since you mentioned that your stove is facing the South, which belongs to the Fire element, it is acceptable to have a water position e.g. refrigerator to be facing the `fire' element ie. the stove to `cool down the Fire' element. Good Luck in your renovations!

1. It is good to hear u have an airconditioner with the ion cluster (often the settings include "shooting out" all negative ions, or " a blast of positive plus negative ions). 2. Try to go for the modern method. However, if one is concerned with aircon bills, then there are relatively good "air-cleaners". No point having an aircon, with such a feature and if the aircon is rarely use. 3. Imagine, how wonderful it would be like if one can stay near the vicinity of a water-fall such as Nigara falls or Victoria falls. (Not so much of people jumping down them to commit suicide; but rather) the idea of a waterfall is that such "furious" water frictions with the air to create …

Hi, This past question posted in the forum and available at this URL: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm will help you to understand the `Imperial Chinese Ruler' and how it is used or not used today:- Question: have a set of antique furniture which was given by my mum. I measured the furniture and it fits the good measures of the Feng Shui Ruler. Is this good? Can you also elaborate more on the Feng Shui Ruler? Yes most `true' antique furnitures (Chinese influence) do have a set of measurements that follows the Feng Shui ruler. As the furniture was given by your mum (to confirm: from her home?) if so, it is OK. For other antique furniture that you want to purchase, wher…

Me and my wife were both breadwinners. Sir any advice on cures for Northeast facing windows and doors. Thanks and more power...

Dear Desiree, Thanks for your clarification. In my opinion, stairs leading down may not necessariy mean bad energy. However, it has to be looked on a case-by-case basis. For example, in Singapore's Business District, there are some office buildings where were purposely built such that every one has to walk down (as you have described) to the lobby. And here, they either have one of the e.g. three elevators or (stairs) to their office that is more than 18 floors high. An example is the `Tong Eng' Building at Cecil Street in Singapore. The rationale here is that contrary to popular notations; many developments or buildings are of this design for two main reasons: 1. Because…

Hi, My apartment main door faces the elevator directly and our family has run into several bad luck lately. I read about hanging a bagua mirror above the main door and that it can have adverse effect if done wrongly. I am living in US and our management won't allow us to have thingsabove the door. Are there any other remedies besides hanging the bagua mirror? Iris

Please see below:- For the master bedroom, let the other partner who does not have the disaster or the death line sleep closer to this line. As you have not mentioned both partner's Pillar's of Destiny information: e.g. husband = strong fire or wife, it is difficult to analyse further. For example if the husband = strong fire and the bedroom is at the south i.e. a " fire" room, being a strong fire,+ the room is also a fire element, this may lead to keen competition and work pressure etc.. Worse still if the bedroom is painted `pink'. In such an example, after anlaysing the wife's element and if it does not affect her, it may be good to even paint the room light blue …

Dear Amelia, Gua [Kua] numbers (or commonly known as Eight House or Ba Cai Feng Shui belongs to the Compass School of Feng Shui. Both Gua (Kua) and Flying Star belongs to the Compass School of Feng Shui. Frankly, there are quite alot of resources in this site as well as I believe many other sites on it. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: amelia seah wrote: Does the Kua number works with the Flying star or both latter works independently. I would like to know the flying star but how does this work?

1. Generally, trees are only a poison arrow if it is aimed directly at the main entrance or a window. 2. If it has a tree trunk aimed at a window, this is easier to neutralise. From the side view, it does show the smaller tree trunk (may or may not slice thru the windows). One option is to install day curtains can be installed. 3. Trees are acceptable as it provides much shade especially from the afternoon sun. And one of the "secret" weapons is the ability to attract "birds" in the area. (Of course now adays, some people condone birds due to the concern of "bird flu" virus.

Dear Alex, 1. Actually, what it means is that for example: if one has a new home completed on or before 2004; but had only moved-in after 2004, then we can consider it as a Period 8 home. 2. Thus, it is not like someone else had moved-out of the home especially if it was built prior to 2004 and when we move it, it does not mean that the home is now a Period 8 home. This "old" home is still considered a period 7 or 6 .... etc.. home. 3. Therefore, it applies to homes that had being completed prior to 2004 and no one had yet stayed in it. And when we purchase and stay in it from 2004 onwards, we can than consider it a Period 8 home. Butit is not a period8 home under Para…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: a weak yang water person with 4 fire in his four pillars and married to a strong yang wood and having 4 wood element in the chart and havetwo daughter have 3earth element and 1 daughter have 4 earth element in their chart. As wood produce fire, will it be too strong the fire is especially 2006 is year of fire. How to overcome this. Frankly, it is not really correct for you to relate the number of earth element present in someone else chart, to add that to your own chart. It does not work that way. The number of elements in individual person chart, is used to asses whether he is weak or strong person of a particular element. ie if he is a wood…

Dear Anon, For serious books on history of Feng Shui i.e. city planning in the past (Chinese cities), you can check out the few books written by Dr Evelyn Lip (Times Publication). Try to do a search e.g. in the internet book stores such as amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com for the author. For new books on city planning... in relation to FS.. this is, in my opinion, hard to come by. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: What is the difference between Ba Zhi and Zi Wei Dou Shu types of reports? Ba Zi essentially, is using the 4 pillars in your chart made up of the Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branches to chart out your luck and even some areas of fortune telling. Zi Wei Dou Shu is more Chinese Horoscope and Astrology which uses horoscope to chart out your chart. This analysis focus more on relationship analysis, characteristics type. Dear Carina, Frankly, it all depends on where the over-head beam is or if the overhead beam is at the edge of a bedroom; then how thick it is. Please see attachment. In the attachment one can see that although there is a beam around the "bed-head" area, one can still sensibly place the bed head slightly further the wall i.e. not touching the wall. And if we includ the pillow case and where we lie on the pillow, we can see that often, the beam is no longer above our head. Since you have not mentioned in detail whether your situation is like the above or if there is beam that is extremely thick or the beam suddenly protrudes further and not at the edge. If your situ…

Dear Marinella, For the work orientation of office table, you can use the Free report: " Work position Report " at http://www.geomancy-online.com to check which is the best favourable direction of your office table. (To help best position your table). However, do take note that in the application of Feng Shui, there are lots more rulesets that need to be considered. For example, I feel that it is more important to give first priority to position of the work-top based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. If you using the Eight House Theory, it is best also to generate the Free Eight House report to see which room is best for you. Under the Eight House Theory, this is of primary…

1. Compare your illustration and the sample shown, here. 2. I have masked out the street and blocks so that no one knows where this location is. 3. This sample, is easier to understand vs a blob of rectangle as the unit or flat in which one stays in. 4. Although the illustration is not to scale, but the person took the effort to illustrate especially the row of windows at the living room area. 5. Thus for a 2D perspective, the details of layout is a plus point!
