Dear Sor Lan, Please see below:- Before touching on with your question, in the past, I have mentioned on two issues: 1. double decker beds ===================== Previously, there were some concerns that double decker beds are unhealthy for the young. But, in my opinion, and also that many (many) people have actually slept in a double decker bed, there is really no issue here. Some FS practitioners spell out the notion that the person sleeping at the lower decker is like having a beam above their head. I personally do not agree with this argument. This is because unlike a beam (concentrated) at the specific spot, the upper bed is relatively flat and does not exert an…

Dear Anon, Frankly, there is not much that can be done via Kua (Eight House). For example, if a house is unsuitable, it is unsuitable for the breadwinner. The only cure(s) are usually physical. For example, either changing of rooms that suit us to even relocating the main entrance to face a favourable angle of the owner. In many of the previous postings, I mentioned that Feng Shui is all about improving one's luck. Thus, you may like to further explore your home: Learn whether your home has good or not so good Shapes and Forms. If possible, try to apply Shapes and Forms. You may also like to look at Flying Star Feng Shui. As mentioned above, taking such steps is like try…

Dear Lynda, Yes, given your situation, it is best to maximize the Feng Shui of your home based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Please see below:- However, white even for furniture is considered a neutral element. And since white also represent metal, it is one of the safest colours. Under the Eight House, if the sector is better for you, then, it is best that you sleep closer to the sector while your husband, sleeps further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Marcia, Try to do a SEARCH using the Search feature under this forum. You can find the various alternatives to neutralise a beam. For example, I just did a SEARCH in this forum and the first two searchs show this two links:- 1 Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures) Another alternative: bamboo flute 9/3/2002 2 Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures) Another alternative: bamboo flute 9/3/2002 If your beam is made of concrete, the above can show you how to neutralise it. 1. It depends on what type of "beam" you are referring to. 2. For example, if the "beam" is actually a decorative feature such as a gypsum board ceiling light box "beam" where say the halogen light is mounted in it. And below the bed, it looks like a beam. Then actually this is more of a "cosmetic" than a real beam. Not a major issue in Feng Shui. - Only visually not-appealing. 3. Slanted ceilings are acceptable. Unless it is a full concrete beam. Wooden pillar supports are equally less of an issue. 4. A Chandelier is equally a non issue since it is made up of a string or many strings of glass pieces (diamond look-alike) or crystal glass pieces. In fact, it is equally …

Dear Debbie, In my opinion, the concern here is more of `commonsense' approach. Many of the advise in Feng Shui dwells with `commonsense'. For example, the advise is that it is not good to have a bedroom above a kitchen. Although, fire can happen anywhere in the home, there is some possibility that a fire could break out of a kitchen. As fire, smoke and heat rises; someone living just above the kitchen could be at risk. In your case, it has more to do with `privacy' and security than "inauspicious" Feng Shui. In my opinion, so long as you can add e.g. an opaque film or secure the windows, this would be acceptable since there is no where else to place your head. This is u…

Dear Hardjo, A poster bed is useful if there is a slanted ceiling. The four posts hold e.g. laced cloth. And with it, it will negate the sha qi. Enclosed please find a sample of a poster bed. Many poster beds does not have a roof as shown in the picture. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thanks for the photograph. Without which, may have a misunderstanding. As this type of bed is unique. Can common sense explain why it is inauspicious? Some beds are "slippery" and perhaps due to "physical activities" sometimes, both beds may split apart or leave a gap in-between. This is the only possibilty based on common sense. However, it also boils down to whether the bed has rollers or the bed legs floating on "slippery" slides for ease of moving - cleaning below. But all these can be fixed. Thus, not a permanent issue. Actually, it also all boils down to symbolism in Feng Shui. In that some feel that it is not auspicious to join two single beds into say a master bed…

1. In my opinion, although not common; but have come across such a situation. 2. There were also geomancers that ask their clients to literally place the bed-head against a fullwindow as they were applying Eight House Feng Shui. 2.1. What you mentioned has more to do with pschology then anything else. Some people may feel uneasy or feel unsecure as they may feel that someone may be peeping into their bedroom - even when the entire windows are opaque. 3. Froma Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, your bed-head is still against a solid wall - good or OK. 4. Furthermore; in a sense; more light can pass thru that specific bedroom. If it is not direct sunlight; e.g. light filtering in …

Dear Anon, Generally, grand duke does not affect a person much unless you refer to renovation work that happen in that sector direction. For bed or sleeping position, priority goes to the shapes and form placement of the bed within the room itself. Followed by, if possible best sleeping direction. Since grand duke isn't so much to worry in this case, thus you can choose to sleep with your head facing East. Please note that as mentioned you should also consider other factors such as the shapes and form of the bed. Hope that helps. Hello shifus! My husband's and my life gua are both 2 and I think my house gua is 8.(if my back is facing front entrance, I am facing SW direction) - same for my master bedroom, For sleeping direction, I am deciding if it should be facing NE or SW. From research is both seems auspicious. SW facing will be same as current planned layout. However the line of vision is towards other houses. And facing SW, line of vision will be towards the landed properties and reservoirs which we prefer. Would like to find out from your expertise which is better suited for us. Also, due to space contraints it has already been decided that my study/computers will face the SW d…

1. Reference article on the dangers of underground water:- http://forum.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-under.php 2. So long as your toilet bowl and it's sewerage piping is on another wall; placing your bed-head towards the toilet wall is acceptable or fine (OK). Anonymous wrote: If we move the bed(facing south), it will be on the same side of the bedroom door(facing east) but our legs will not be pointing at the door. (legs will point towards the toilet wall but not directly at the toilet door) 3. Bed-head placement or placement of the bed, usually should be based on the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui as often, there are limitations such as the bedroom door, toilet door, b…

"You are the one that posted the question on: Walk-in-closet". I can assure you that AGAIN, this question has very much to do with commonsense. Thus, as mentioned under your previous thread "Walk-in-closet"; One should put on their thinking CAP and try to find out the answer, on your own. You don't need a Cowsense Geomancer to do it for you, rite? Off-track: In the past, in the 1980's IBM marketing personel would give away... pads with a bold BLUE word "THINK" on the lined pad. I believe, that was how; later, IBM chose to name their PC = THINKPAD! I strongly encourage you to put on your THINKING CAP... Got it? GET it?

1. Priority is based on "Rule of thumb". Often, once we have viewed a room or bedroom; we have a feel of how we would like to place the bed(s). 2. The report should be considered as "NICE-to-HAVE" and not a "MUST-have". 3. Thus: Go for Para 1, first.

Please refer to my earlier reply to your separate posting. First and foremost, priority goes to the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Head facing a good direction is "nice-to-have" and not a "must-have". Dear Daren, You mentioned that your house is facing West. In all instances of West House:- W1 (247.5-262.4) - West Main Door Facing (255) W2 (262.5-277.4) - West Main Door Facing (270) W3 (277.5-292.4) - West Main Door Facing (285) In all the above instances, overall, under the Eight House, the house is considered unsuitable as it is your disaster sector. Check to see which intangible force is affecting you in your bedroom. This is an initial finding. Usually, there are other `leaks' involved and should be corrected. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- 1)can a person 2. As for the head pointing towards the door, this is still as bad. Other than, the concept that one cannot see who enters the room. (Symbolic of a thief coming into the room holding a knife). This second point or para 2, dwells on a commonsense approach. Often, to fully utilise the bedroom, the bed can be placed against a wall and the head pointing towards the window. This is acceptable as often light filters into the room. And for those who love to lie on the bed to read, this light source is comforting to the eyes. The only `drawback' is based on commonsense approach i.e. if one lives in an apartment: and if th…

Dear Keith, In my opinion, it "the bedroom above a garage" may not necessarily be the main cause of the problem. The rationale is that not looking at other diagnostic tools such asthe use of Flying Star Feng Shui etc... there are existing owners who do have a bedroom or even a master bedroom above a garage. Usually, the main reason why it is considered inauspicious has to do more with "Commonsense Approach" to Feng Shui. For example, the main rationale, in addition to what you had mentioned, some people use another reasoning or both: what you had mentioned and also that in (the unlikely) event that the car at the porch catches fire, and the bedroom is directly above …

Dear Anon, Based on my personal experience, a toilet above the 2nd floor would depend on:- 1. The level of usage of the toilet. 2. The higher the ceiling, the better. Under Para 1; water or water vapour may release `negative ions' or water gases so; it is always advisable to keep that toilet as dry as possible. One good thing is that usually, the sewerage pipes are on ground level (unless you also have a toilet) directly above it. It is best to place the bed away from piping from below. Sometimes, because of the gypsum board or false ceiling of the toilet, we may need to explore this further. It is best if the water heater (some of these) are located directly above the be…

UPDATE: I recently placed a picture of some mountains and some water just outside my bedroom door and have felt much better. Coincidentally i later found out thatI have found that my room has "double facing" small tai ji in period 6 chart of house - the remedy for which (improves health) is to add a mountain (and water form) in the front of the house / room. Thanks in the mean time. :-)

Dear Kathelyne Feng Shui has many distinctive flavours: 1. Poison arrows 2. Commonsense approach to Feng Shui 1. Poison arrows These are issues that cause issues such as sharp corners etc... 2. Commonsense approach to Feng Shui What you had mentioned i.e. a bedroom above a kitchen has more to do with "commonsense". This is because,(usually) thereseems to be a higher probability of a fire starting in a kitchen then anywhere else. And because of this, some would thus feel that having abedroom above the kitchen not a good idea! However, frankly a fire can be started anywhere else in a home such as carelessly leaving behind a lighted cigarette butt or ash etc... 3. …
