Dear Tammie, Frankly, if anyone ask me 5 or 6 years ago, I may think that way i.e. what you had mentioned. But since then, I have looked at many homes and do not see a correlation that a noisy place drives off fortune. However, contrary to this, under Flying Star Feng Shui, if a location has a combination of two specific bad #numbers that needs quiet at a location, then, what you mentioned, holds true. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Annie, Here are the considerations:- 1. Since you have not mentioned where is the front door, avoid placing the fountain at the right side of the door. I.e if you are standing at the main door and facing out of the house, the fountain should not be on the right side of the house. Usually, the result is `wandering eyes' or illicit affairs e.g. of the husband. 2. If the fountain is small or tiny, its effect is minimal. 3. Can you elaborate about the lamp post? If it can be seen from the window (or tangent or perpendicular to it); this is a poision arrow. To neutralise this, perhaps you can check out the conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures); Subject: What…

Hi, The element of pottery is Earth because it is made of `earth' or originate from the earth. Yes NE and SW are considered the Earth element. Therefore, some books ask that one place pieces of pottery at these locations. However, one can say that this is a " novice " method of looking at placement of objects in the home. Most authors will usually ask one to place water at the North or Wood at the East. Looking at it, I believe, this is very basic Feng Shui that should not be applied if you are using advanced theories especially the Flying Star. You should like what you have mentioned, look at using the Flying Star rather than such a very general theory. With a " 5 " you…

  7. 1. More important consideration is the stove:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Kitchen_Stove_%26_More 2. For the oven, it is symbolically important not to let it be seen directly when standing at the main entrance door. 3. If the kitchen has an opening, best that the oven does not face a bedroom door. These two are the most important considerations for an oven. While the stove should be the more important item to be place - first. While the oven is considered as nice-to place and not a must place. These are some of the considerations: 1. It also depends on culture and race. 2. For example, the traditional Chinese family, will never place an urn of a beloved dead family member in our home. The most we do is in it's place an ancestor tablet. 3. Of course, must discount some modern Chinese animal lovers who may keep their family pet's urn. Otherwise, we simply don't place an urn of dead family member(s) in our home. 4. Perhaps, you could follow some of the commonsense and practices: 4.1. We avoid placing the altar sharing the same wall as the toilet. 4.2. Often the best place for an altar is where it sits "…

Dear Denise, This url shows how two flutes are `tradtionally' hung to neutralise a beam:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/imagesearch.cgi?img=0&search=flute&cat=all&x=9&y=7 In your case, for a long hall, usually, potted plants along sections of the hall are used instead to `break' the `long' hall rather than the use of flutes. 15. Dear Diana, In my opinion, most of us, would face the same sort of problems. Especially if a house has not being looked into, prior to the purchase. Sometimes, even if we activately seek to find a good house, eventually, the bedroom may not be suitable. Or, one of the partners is either a East or West group persons. From the many cases, I personally feel that, no matter how, one should get the Shapes and Forms correct in the first instance. The overriding consideration is based on the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. And once this is good both external and internal, it is better than trying to fit oneself in a `Eight House' dilemma. So far, there is no basis (from what I know)…

  16. These are some considerations: 1. When one mentions that the person is a strong yang water snake; this is based on Ba Zi. 2. Being a strong water or strong something does not automatically mean that; that person's best facing direction must be North or SE. 3. Try to get your facts correct, first. 4. When one talks about good directions: this belongs to the Compass School of Feng Shui: Eight House / 4 Good or Bad directions. 5. The answer to your question can be found under this link: The Three-Step-Approach

Dear Anon, Sector Feng Shui or saying that SW = romance sector for each and very one of us may not be as accurate to activate romance luck. Try instead to apply Flying Star Feng Shui:- Specially for romance luck try activating a sector with water star #4. This then can be equated to you "SW" or so called romance sector. For example: MS#1 WS#4 Base#7 (Period 7) Then, since this sector has a water star #4 = good for romance. In addition, if the home has MS#8 or MS9 then activate with a mountain to improve networking and relationship luck. For example if a sector has: MS#8 WS#1 Base #8 then activate this mountain sector to improve networking and relationship luck!…

    1. This reminds me of the time around 1997 or 1998. 2. This was where I could recall, many western sites that had some knowledge called Feng Shui : Fung Sway etc... 3. And many of the sites, had not much resources thus, their largest understanding of Feng Shui was of some kind of thing called "clear space". 4. Thus, I could remember, Feng Shui was strongly advocated as "clear space". 5. In a way, if an item is not in use (empty) no harm clearing it "away". 6. In Feng Shui, even a pile of unwanted newspapers, at the wrong location, could affect the Fung Sway... to coin the 1997-9 term. 7. Besides this, in the past, there were known "hauntings" ... Dear Heiddy, I can only say this "Life is short" so live it to the fullest. Frankly, reading too many books can: 1. bring fear or confusion 2. lead to auto-suggestion 3. worse still - self-fulfilling prophecy. I have actually elaborated on a simple example: 1. Many of us read books that say that our spirit wanders out of our body, sees itself in the mirror; and gets a shock! 2. But, wait! What happens if our spirit is the "extrovert" type. It wants to check itself in the mirror. If the hair is out of place, wants to comb, itself to look nice before, wandering off? 3. It is ridiculous senario to remove the TV set in the bedroom, if we have had it for most of our life! 4. S…

Dear Anon, You should apply the concept: "If it cannot no longer be seen, it is no longer a threat". Here, the best way to deal with it is to use e.g. blinds or curtains (to block the view). If you use curtains, you can have two layers e.g. a day curtain and a night curtain. As you had mentioned that you have a blind, although it would be great (Or nice to have) a view of the outside, if the poison arrow is aimed directly towards the window, it is still best to close it or use the blind to reflect out the poison arrow -- best to forgo the view in such a situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Overall, in Feng Shui, it is best that a mirror not be placed on a wall where this could be inauspicious sector as twice the bad luck would bounce back. 2. However, if you feel that it is OK, then you can try to place it above the fireplace. But the mirrow should not be larger than the diameter of the fireplace. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Thanh Huynh, Thanh Huynh wrote: Thanks for your reply Robert. I have one more question. What if I plant 2, 3 more trees around or be side this big tree and some more flower bushes to make it look like a garden, will that help also? Yes, this will work as well. As long as you can break the sha qi it will help. Furthermore, by making it into a garden, you actually beautify the place and that will definately be good in terms of feng shui. As creating a nice environment that you feel good to live in is essentially what Feng Shui is all about. Creating Harmony Hope that helps.
