    1. Definitely, commonsense dictate that if one calls one or more Feng Shui practitioners; you will definitely get different advice. 2. As mentioned in many previous postings, there are many considerations when placing a fish tank and other matters like colours in the home. 3. Your question to me is like: two practitioners, two different advise, and how? 3.1 Frankly, I am this side of the world, even if Australia is close-by: not seen your layout plan nor anything else for that matter. 3.2 You have to be realistic and even if you asked me how many fishes 8 or 9 is correct? without any reference to proper Feng Shui tools like: the compass directions, the flying star ch…

  3. Dear Anon, 1. The sleeping direction or best bed-head direction should be considered "Nice-to-have" and not a must have. 2. Even if sleeping with the head facing west, I personally feel that this position is the better choice. As you had also mentioned that the other position e.g. placing a tall bookshelf and placing your bed-head towards North seems weird. 3. Feng Shui is about Earth Luck. While feeling comfortable in a bedroom surrounding is about "Man or human" luck. 4. Thus what best is to sleep in a "normal " bedroom vs a "weird" layout bedroom. If we don't feel good in a bedroom.. might as well throw out the whole concept of "theoratical" feng shui. Worst t…

Dear Guek Rian, 1. Please note that one should consider: 1.1. Where is the frontage of the house. 1.2. Where is the sitting or back of the house. 2. Water Star(s) should be activated at the frontage of the house or a building. 3. In a tiny bedroom, there is really not much effect of activating water stars. The commonsense approach is that the most effective activation of water stars is e.g. the use of water position e.g. like a Ming Tang or Bright Hall where there is a water position at the frontage of the house. 4. Thus, one is most likely to swallow a sugar coated pill if someone can convience us that a water position can or should be activated in a bedroom. 5. However…

    1. Glad that you find our website useful. 2. Yes, it is best to have the stove installed. As it is one of the most important items (affecting health and wealth) for a family especially if one moves or try to move-in for the first time. 3. In the past, if the main stove is not installed, those who also use an alternative charcoal stove may move in .. but need to "use" it for the first time. 4. Minor touch up of the ceiling is fine! BUT, it is best that you are aware where is your North and South sector of the new home! As this year, North = Tai Sui and South is the three killings. When the minor touch up of the ceiling is to be done at one of these two sectors, try no…

Dear Patrick, 1. Imagine luck as the reception of wealth. And one good visual example is to clasp one's two hands together. Here, if the house is on the `pan' or on the palm, this is good. 2. Thus, if one can visualise the above, a house below road level may not necessarily be bad. On the contrary, if there is excellent drainage, not too deep or angled depth, it can be a good house. 3. However, it has to depend on a case-by-case basis. But, the noticable sign is that your home is not alone in the neigbhourhood. And there are many homes within your estate. 4. If there are many of such homes within the vicinity of your house and they are in "good repair", then, it is a goo…

  8. Dear Karen, 1. To the Chinese, a white tiger is particularly `inauspicious' or considered unlucky to see a white tiger especially one is gambling. In one legend, after 500 years, a certain tiger changed it's coat of fur and turned white. This is how we now call the West side of a buidling or house the " White Tiger ". If you have read the Four Symbolic Animals or Four Cosmic Animals concept at url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/four.htm, you will notice that on the East is the " Green Dragon ". 2. Both the East (Green Dragon) and West (White Tiger) are often used by Feng Shui Masters to relate to Feng Shui enhancements of ch'i or for feng shui cures. East (Green Dragon) dom…

  9. Dear Cecil, WOW, i'm very impressed by yourpractical approach, patience and response. ;-)Regreted for not knowing your service earlier. ;-( Being so generous to our queries (which you are not obliged to reply, in fact), i'm very sure that you can give very detailed info to engaged services, as compared to the FS service i'd previously engaged (he just gave me some sketch on my floor plan). Now i understand that there is no "easyrectification" to my main door/ Qi issue: Proposal 1: a sizable space need to be "set aside" between the partition and main door. ;-( Proposal 2: dining tableat A may make the walk way "less friendly", as i plan to buy a 6-seater dining table. ;…

  10. Dear Tracy, Thank you for bring up this interesting question. 1. Stagnant water is always referred to as bad. For example, it is always considered highly inauspicious if one has a well at the front of the house. It is feared that a well (still water) is `host' for evil spirits. 2. Pagodas were built along water veins. And pagodas were built on sites to neutralise such Sha Qi. 3. Water Feng Shui also considers which direction the water flows. 3.1 In this example, url: http://www.geomancy.net/review/tropica/index.htm 3.2 You will find the statement " For example, two cities in China i.e. Amoy and Canton are situated at this Dragon-Tiger gate. This is where t…

Dear Rahman, 1. Try not to mix the two theories: Eight House vs Flying Star Chart 2. Eight House chart is used for: a. Checking how suitable one is to the home b. Sleeping and working facing a good direction c. Nice-to-have spending time at a good sector. (Nice-to-have and not MUST-have since we already purchased such a home and layout /compass direction are fixed. It is always good to have a home suitable to the person. For example, you mentioned that North is a suitable home. For positioning of bed-head; study/work directions - try to see if one can face a good direction. Other than this, what you had mentioned perhaps about Flying star numbers SW 5; these are abou…

The fishes look active and very alive, except that the background, supposed to be water, is more to the greenish colour. Is this considered inauspicious? It is always hard to comment something which we cannot see. However, most pond water tends to be greenish especially when painted at certain time of the day. Also, if the pond is very deep, the colour of the water (though blue), may seems dark greenish. I guess, there shouldn't be an issue as it is probably the painter trying to make it as realistic as possible. More important is usually the koi fishes. As long as they are fair…

Hi, Please see below:- When contemplating the placement of a swimming pool, it is crucial to consider the following important aspects: 1. The swimming pool must be assessed concerning both Shapes and Forms Feng Shui and the principles of Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. Ideally, it should be situated in front of the house; for example, when facing the main entrance and looking outward, the swimming pool should preferably be on the left side. 3. It is essential to ensure that the swimming pool does not have sharp edges directed towards the house, as this is regarded as Sha Qi or a poison arrow. 4. The design of the swimming pool should refrain from e…

  18. Dear Cecil So glad M Luther asked this question - I've been wondering how macro or micro one should go in analysing the elements in a career. Do you look at e.g. the type of industry the company is in, i.e. manufacturing = water? Within that company, there is likely to be many departments, so you could end up in H.R. (earth), marketing (fire) etc. etc. The manufacturing company may very well produce a product molded of hard polycarbonate plastic (metal). When you want to find the correct career element to prosper or enhance your own element, do you need to look at all the above factors? Kind regards Toni

Dear Master Cecil, I hope to get a very short reply from you about this.Regarding placing an aquarium in SE sector, which has MS#4 WS #8 and base 6 (house facing W1), in general this sector is good for aquarium. However in 2005, star #3 flies into the SE and it seems like it is going to be quite strong. Is it still appropriate to use an aquarium here for 2005 ? Thanks.

  20. 1. Frankly, I had illustrated the significance of first placing on the outside of the door and why it was taken in, later and "put" right (right side up). 2. Anything else, is entire up to you. If you still feed good about what you are doing and have or can justify what you thing is good, then go ahead with it. 3. As such things - or for such things: there is no right or wrong answers. Dear Lindsey, To test whether the power pole is a threat, stand at your main door or the window. And look out of it. If the power pole is tangent to or seem to slice thru the main entrance door or a window, then this is a threat. Else if one can still see the power pole but it does not seem to slice thru the main door (directly) then there is no threat. I.e. the power pole must be seemed to be slicing thru the main door or window. If the power pole is diagonal then there is no threat at all. For the property line, if you have a fence or a bush, then this would be better. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. graphic illustration of " No threat zone "

  24. Dear Steven, Generally, it is very common to live in a home where someone has died in the home. Often, if death is due to naturalcauses especially old age, no worries, here. For old homes, it is best to avoid having any of the posessions left by the person who had died e.g. his cupboard or any antique items. Sometimes, we are not sure what kind of items are left behind, if so, when we purchase such a home, try to get "vacant" posession of the home. And not keep such items. For those who can apply or use Flying Star Feng Shui; one way is to avoid an imbalance caused by too many YIN stars in a secto…

  25. Dear Sissie, In the Traditional Feng Shui practise of the use of mirrors:- 1. If one seek consultation especially from say Western Traditional School of Feng Shui especially the majority of such schools in US or Canada, in my opinion, I believe, these practitioners would normally say that Ba Gua mirror or even mirrors are "hocus pocus." 2. Therefore, I am aware that such schools say coming from the West, do not believe in the use of Ba Gua mirror(s). Even if the practitioners are Chinese (race). 3. But the distinction here is that although they are Chinese in origin, because of their cultural association i.e. they were born entirely or most of them in the West, they woul…
