Dear Cecil, Thank you for your response. The lot is a residential lot. My husband and I are looking at buying a house, and we found a house that we like very much. It is on a good direction (according to the Eight House calculation) but the lot is irregular shaped with the back smaller than the front, its dimension: 77ft wide at the front and 44ft wide at the back, 1 side is 148 ft long, another side is 138ftlong. I would like some advice if there are any cures or is it worth to purchase the house. Thank You very much. Van.

Hi, Basicially, Feng Shui is not a religion and thus there is no relevance to statues or `statue worship'. Feng Shui is both an art (Shapes and Form) and a science (Compass School: Eight House and Flying star). For those who are not aware, the Dragon Horse and the Dragon Turtle statues are derived from the two stories of how Fu Xi, a Chinese Emperor discovered the Luo Shu grid which is the mathematical formula on how the Flying Star base numbers, water and mountain stars are derived. The url for this story is under http://www.geomancy.net/fs/tortise.htm Similiarly, Flying Horse (Dragon horse) tells another story of another pattern found on this horse. I guess, some enterp…

Hi, It is `customary' not to move the bed when one is pregnant. The Chinese believe that this may result in a miscarriage. Similiarly, if the wife is pregnant, it is best not to move house during the term of her pregnancy. If there is a real need, she should not be around to see the movement of the bed etc... As Robert mentioned, this is not Feng Shui but more towards Chinese Superstitious beliefs. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, Here are several important considerations to keep in mind: 1. It is advisable to reassess the overall configuration of the house. 2. As Robert pointed out, a missing corner is defined as one that exceeds 33.3 percent of the house's total area. 3. Often, without careful examination, one might mistakenly identify a protrusion as a missing corner. 4. As you noted, it is not practical to install mirrors on both sides of every wall to compensate for a missing corner. 4.1. For further information regarding the significance of a missing corner, please visit: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/building.htm. 5. One effective way to mitigate this issue i…

Hi, If you want to find out more on how `Feng Shui' logos are created, please check out this URL: http://www.geomancy.net/on/logos.htm In short, Feng Shui logos are based on your Pillars of Destiny element. Warmest Regards, Cecil -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Tuesday, July 06, 1999 2:44 PM Subject: Business logo Actually, all shapes are good shapes, it depends more on who the logo is designed for. Say for a company the element of the person running the company is water, then their wealth is fire, thus sharp shaped objects such as triangle is good shape for it. So for business logo, it is a…

Hi, This past question posted in the forum and available at this URL: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm will help you to understand the `Imperial Chinese Ruler' and how it is used or not used today:- Question: have a set of antique furniture which was given by my mum. I measured the furniture and it fits the good measures of the Feng Shui Ruler. Is this good? Can you also elaborate more on the Feng Shui Ruler? Yes most `true' antique furnitures (Chinese influence) do have a set of measurements that follows the Feng Shui ruler. As the furniture was given by your mum (to confirm: from her home?) if so, it is OK. For other antique furniture that you want to purchase, wher…

Hi, I like to add a few words on this subject:- 1. As most users here are aware, the tearing down of a building complex to turn it into a public park is a very Feng Shui move. If you can recall, the front of the house or office building should be " flat " ie. under the Four Symbolic Animal concept, the front is the `phoenix' which signifies it flies freely in open space. Similiarly, the Bright Hall is also called another term i.e. Ming Tang. Traditional practise, you will find a pool (not stagnant water) in front of the building. It is usually semi circular i.e. radiating away from the building. This is why sometimes, if you have a poision arrow aimed at your main entranc…

Further to what I had mentioned, for those who are not aware of the Chinese culture, ringing bell etc... is performed as a `rite' for someone who has died. Chinese monks who perfom the last burial rites use bells etc.. to guide the dead to their burial place. Here like wind chimes, one may inadvertently call some wondering `spirits' to the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thanks, Cecil. We have added some good Feng Shui touches to the house to make it more auspicious, so hopefully that will attract the "right" owner. I just hope it is soon! Judy Knight

Chris and Cecil, I would have to wonder if the personality of the animal wouldn't have an effect on the chi of the home. Some animals are very docile and sweet, while others are much more active and playful. Still others should have never been allowed to become pets and belong in zoos. (or the bottom of the ocean) I've been in homes where horrible animals "ruled the roost" and the people were mere servants of the animal. I can't believe that an animal like that doesn't produce his/her own little version of sha-chi. Of course it also can be argued that the home itself can be the cause of the animal's good or bad traits. (as well as helping the person living there b…

Dear Ber, As Joe correctly pointed out where best, try to avoid mirrors especially large ones in the house. 1. Mirrors are of the YIN element. 2. Mirrors located at a " wrong " location can bounce back twice the bad luck. 3. It is common for the Cantonese (A dialect group of the Chinese) to install a large mirror in the dinning room in the hope that it will bring them auspiciousness. But as I mentioned above, becareful where you install it. 4. It is not advisable to have a mirror in one room, `shine' towards another room as we do not know what we are bouncing unless one does a Flying Star chart to analyse further. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Rose, Thank you for your comments. Yes, I had that in mind, but because the main program is already too complex especially with the older modules it was difficult to add clear explanation at the same time provide technical information. Thus, thus this major revision is done to provide two sets of report, one is the full technical analysis, and the other is the explanation only. In this way, I can take advantage of the specific targets templates and provide more in-depth explanation without making the report too long or too complex to generate. In addition, it was a long time since the codings were looked at due to constant addition, so the new revision gives me a cha…

Hi Anon, The above are advanced level fengshui and must not be messed around with because if it is applied wrong the consequences could mean total disaster especially the castle gate theory. All of the above theories but one(replacement theory) help to improve your wealth/finances. The replacement theory deals more with the loupan reading that is if the reading falls within a certain degree, you cannot use the regular flying star chart.

Dear Bill, Please see below:- The three legged toad (gold or wood) is a commercial product. Many sellers sell it on the basis that they belife it is suppose to `bring good luck' to the owner. There is another type of Ba Gua mirror with the Two door Gods. Again, this is said to protect against evil spirits. It is usually used by some practising Feng Shui practioners (with links to their personal religion) e.g. Taoism and they themselves believe that their clients should place these Ba Gua above their doors. From what I understand, if you are talking about the First Heaven Sequence Ba Kua, it is said to be originated by the ancient Chinese sage King called Fux…

Cecil, this brings up something I've been thinking about for some time. I would like to buy a fake goose...made of some sort of paper, that flies in the air with the wind, while attached to a long, tall pole like a fishing pole. I could put him very close to the front of the house where the pole wouldn't cut the door, but I'm wondering if the movement of the bird in the wind would raise the chi, slow it down, or activate anything else? I want to do this to make my house easier to find for my customers. Any thoughts? Monica >Dear cecil, > >In my neighborhood all houses >have a colored >bird or animal flags hang on a >wood pole at a >angle of…
