  1. Dear Carol, The correct method is the head should be facing the good direction. For example in your case, if North is auspicious. you should have your head facing North. Dear Paris, Please see below:- If this intelligent child has good resources such as good family bonding and relatively good access to external (inputs), the child is sure to either top his class or futher pursue an excellent career in the near future. While a normal child, could perhaps be like drawing parallel to a normal home without a sum-of-ten. In both cases (in the above both the intelligent child and the normal child) has to interact with their external environment. And the key to the Flying star Feng shui is that it is not -static but is based on time-dimensions. This is akin to the parallel with the external environment. Thus it is good to have a sum-…

    1. You can always obtain a Feng Shui ruler and use the good ruler measurements. Please note that most Feng Shui ruler has two columns. You should be using the top column (measurement) as this is meant for Yang Feng Shui or for the living. 2. Except for an altar, an altar needs to be most optimum by using the auspicious measurements that coincide with both the top and bottom measurements. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-ruler.htm 3. Alternatively, you can the mulitple of 17 inches for the door. Thus, the width could be 17 inches x 2 =34 inches. And the height of the door in multiples of 17 inches x ( ) = . 4. If one does a SEARCH in this forum…

    1. Please take note that the "Pi Yao" is a modern commercial product. And such products appear in abundance only after the mid 1980's. 2. Many Geomancers, are not shameful, in promoting commercial products, as these brings in the bulk of their "ill gotten" gains. Some Geomaners even preach.... during their audit sessions: " You have to place this specific painting, here". 3. You might ask: "Where do I get this painting." 4. The geomancer say: "Come to my shop." 5. For the individual,THREE key concepts should be considered:- 5.1. CONCEPT 1: Under the Compass School of Feng Shui, the Eight House (East/West group) applies. The question asked is " Does the compass cha…

Dear Wendy, Based on Feng Shui guidelines, there is a difference between `building' a house and finding a good date or year to build a house. Let me elaborate: You can usually find a good date in the year 2000 as there are 365 days in a year and even if it is in December 1999, you can still find a good date the next year. Another point is that Chinese New Year does not follow the English New year. For those who are very new to Feng Shui, please take note that when we discuss Chinese New Year, in short it is CNY or for this year Earth-Rabbit, Chinese New Year is from 16 Feb 1999 to 4 Feb 2000. Here you will notice that Chinese New Year 1999 only ends on 4th February 2000. …

The concept of: Ashes to Ashes, dust to dust holds true for anything that has been cremated. Thus cremation is considered as : Neutral. As a mark of respect; often, place it somewhere that is not often disturbed. Need not display it. So long as not placed below one's bed or preferably not in one's bedroom is fine or OK. Often if one has a study, can be placed e.g. on a shelf perhaps next to the window etc... There are no hard or fast rule for such things. Thus "show respect" is a good idea, here.

You wrote: "If one's maternal grandmother pass away, does the wedding need to be conducted within 100 days or postpones to 3 years later?" Yes, this is by-right (or considered "politically correct" statement). Or "should be the case". You also wrote: "I have checked various sources which mostly mentioned these only affected to one's parents, only a few mentioned that this taboo affected to grandparents as well." Again, there is no hard or fast rule. Nowadays; some are quite lax with the interpretation; especially in the context thatthat specific grandmother(was) not staying with them. Thus take it as more "distant". But traditionally; yourfirst statement shouldbe the corr…

  12. These are some considerations: 1. Solar panels are a modern invention. 2. Thus, there are really no write-ups in the past as to whether it has positive or negative effects. 3. As many Feng Shui concepts can be looked at from a common sense approach; I tried very hard to imagine whether is there any negative effects (if any). So far there are in my opinon - none from this approach.

Hi, Feng Shui should be personalized to an individual to be effective. The most common question asked is: Can something so general be applied to everyone of us? The answer is No. Similiarly, even a " famous Feng Shui Master " should not say that it can apply to anyone. In the Internet or around you, do question any Feng Shui Practioner. Ask them what is the reason for saying so. Each person who says something should backup their words with a reasonal explanation or if it based only on their opinion, I guess, each of us have the right to judge for ourselves. Another way of looking at this situation is, what was mentioned by this " famous Feng Shui Master " does not go down…

Dear Robert, thanks for your advice. Understand that it is best that the bed should face the bedroom door so that we can see whoever comes into the room. Can we place the bed such that is back is on the wall of the bedroom door? Why is this bad and what bad luck will it bring to the owner? Thanks.

  16. Dear Arthur, 1. In order to know which cure to use it is very important to determine whether a person is a weak or strong earth. 2. Geomancy.Net's calculation takes into account 4 main pillars (day, month, year and hour) plus House of Life and House of conception to determine your final element. 3. Here, based on how your elements combinations and clashes the proportion and changes in strength for the elements will affect whether you are a weak or strong earth person. 4. If you have used the Pillars of Destiny v8 and above to determine that you are a strong earth, then you are strong earth, as it takes into account many factors before coming to that conclusion. 5. For…

Dear Gwen Bui, Thank you for your layout plan. Please see below:- Please see attached illustration with the Shape of your house. So far, the Shape looks rectangular. The main concern is the toilet at the frontage of the house. And this is where, you should not make the garage door as your symbolic main entrance door. In my opinion, your two-sided stairway does not seem to pose any major problems since there is a lift landing upstairs. A two-sided stairway is in my opinion, very inauspicious if it is at the frontage of the house. Where, the two sets of steps join /meet together to the main entrance door. Also, from the layout plan, the front side of the stairwa…

    1. Please note that Feng Shui does not depend soley on this interpretation. 2. Feng Shui is about: location, location & location. And other more important factors include: which flying star direction this home is facing, how suitable the home is to the breadwinner. 3. If you are applying Feng Shui, you have to apply all these facts and cannot just based on this single information alone. 4. You are just like asking a blind man to lead another blind man?

Hi, House numbers belong to another category called Numerlogy. Frankly, the reason why in my opinion, I prefer to stick to Feng Shui is because in many places, numbers can mean different things. For example, the Cantonese (a dialect) group of Chinese say that no. 4 means = die. This is because in their dialect, the pronuciation of 4 is `say' or `die'. To them, they thus find the number inauspicious. While to them no. 8 mean `fart' or `prosperity'. Where else, in `English' astrology, they have the Four elements and some practioners find number 4 to be auspicious. Under the Flying Star Theory of Feng Shui, the worst numbers to avoid are like what you mention no. 2 or the s…

Dear Marc, It is usually ok to have the kitchen with the open concept in modern times. If you had consulted a true traditional Master of the past, they may not approve of it. However, so long as there is `symbolism' e.g. as you mentioned a divider such as a serving counter. This is alreay symbolic of a kitchen environment. In the past, the kitchen can be quite dirty especially if one uses charcoal stoves etc... Nowadays, we have to be practical especially with modern equipment such as air ventilators above the stove; the use of microwave ovens. A conscious effect to use less oil in the kitchen. Warmest Regards, Cecil
