Dear Anon, Further to what was mentioned earlier, it is common for many Chinese to find a Geomancer after the birth of their child. The geomancer looks at the child's Pillars of Destiny. In a very simple example, the child's pillars lack fire element, his can be added with the phonetic sound of `fire'. As each Chinese character can be classified under each of the Five elements, e.g. the strokes of the name is counted which is considered Yin or Yang such as even or odd strokes plus looking at the phonetic sound. I brought up an example a short article: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/names.htm where, my grandfather consulted a geomancy and my elder brother was given a name wi…

Hi, I think it's because bedrooms are enclosed by walls which are like mountains. So mountain dragons are considered automatically activated in bedrooms.

I am so glad this topic was brought up. Cecil, I understand what you are saying in regards to using local standard time for Pillars of Destiny and Feng Shui calculations? But I'm completely lost when I try to follow inauspicious/auspicious days for my true element. I live in Los Angeles, U.S. (Pacific Standard Time) and when I look at your real-time forecast it is for the day ahead. So today is March 9th and your forecast is for March 10. Is today really a "rabbit" day instead of a "tiger" day for Los Angeles? Or do I just use the forecast for March 9th?

Further to those who are new to this forum:- In the past, I have posted the following information: 1. Use the 5 elements concept (Ref: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/5element.htm ) Under the destructive element: Example 1: If you are a strong metal person, in order for this person to create wealth, he `destroys' the element wood. If you are a strong wood person, by destroying `Earth' you create wealth If you are a strong earth person, by destroying `Water' you create weath etc... Under the above condition, you must be STRONG in order to destroy the element `in-front' to create wealth. What happens if I am a `weak' ____ person? For example, if you are a weak metal person, yo…

Hi gerret, What cecil wrote in the previous post is true. Here is my point of view. The below is apply to hotel rooms. 1) Avoid choosing room that is at the end of the hallway. 2) Avoid windows which is shaded by trees. This may cause the room to be too YIN. My personal opinion. Steven

So...no tree planting in the W? or don't plant a lone tree in the W? I am thinking along the lines of a plum tree or something to capture the sunshine in front of the house/to give some shade from the glare of the setting sun. Also, to raise the value of the property. Anyways, thanks for the insight and I think I'm gonna go ahead and plant it.

Dear Anon, 1. I am not sure if this is a `consolation'. 2. Many new condominums, have units (frontage) facing swimming pools. Sometimes, this can be quite noisy, but, to some practitioners, it may imply `activity', which may be good. While others may consider it bad. 3. The best consolation is based on the fact that during Chinese New Year, the letting off of `firecrackers' create noise and this act "was" (nowadays banned in many countries) said to `scare away evil or bad luck'. 4. *JOKE -start-* If noise can `irritate' us, it will most likely `irritate' (if there are any) non-humans. *JOKE -end-* Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Yuki, Chinese Astrology 1. This issue may not be directly related to your problem. But let me highlight for interest:- 2. The closest to understanding our "characters " or "traits" is sometimes through `auto-suggestion". 3. Another area, is in the field of Chinese astrology. 4. Sometimes when one reads too much of their `Astrology' characteristics, we tend to `play the part'. For example, when we are `told' that we are a Tiger, and a tiger person has certain characteristics, some of us, may use such auto-suggestion. 5. Your problem with inter-racial relationships is akin to this. Once you can break `auto-suggestion' that inter-racial relations, cannot happen to my f…

This link is useful on "Bau-bologie". Which is the Germany study `similiar' with Feng Shui:- http://www.bau-biologieusa.com/ Quote and Credit from the above site:- What is Bau-biologie? The German term "Bau-biologie" means "building biology" or "the relationship between buildings and life" and could be defined as: The impact of the building environment on human health, and the application of this knowledge to the construction, or modification, of homes and workplaces, and The holistic interaction between human life and other life-forms with our environment.

Hi all, As mention by cecil, a triangle plot of land is inauspicious. Since there are so many plot of triangle land around, What can we do with it? A plot of triangle land may represend the fire element ....so i think a hawker stall area will be good. Since there will be a lot of fire due to the cooking around. Just my point of view. any comments? Steven

Hello Cecil: I didn't tell her I'm a FS practitioner and didn't go after any other info. It turned me off the way she bragged about being wealthy. Meanwhile, at the gathering, her husband's eye is wandering over every single woman. How wealthy can she really be if her husband behaves like that? Wealthy is when your husband only has eyes for you. LOL Maybe the practitioner should focus on helping them stay together. Just thought the center staircase story was interesting. Thank you.

The house is a single detached residential house within a compound. The swimming pool is a part of the house since it was situated at the first floor underneath the living and dining rooms. Some says that this is not good because it resembles a grave. Is this true? Do we have to remove this swimming pool for our peace of mind. Thanks.

Hi Cecil, Thanks for your speedy reply, here's the information you need: There is no main gate, it is a private compound with open space: a small lawn, a garage and a driveway. The fire hydrant is roughly about 341-343 feet and approximately 20-30 degrees from the main door. Our driveway is gently sloping down to the main road so I would say maybe slightly higher than the main road. And also, there are two lamp posts:one directly facing main door and the other is at the right side of the house. Isn't there any possible way that we can view lamp posts as positive? Gratefully yours, Sejanus.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I really do understand (or thought I did) the five elements concept clearly. I believe my confusion comes from reading conflicting information. i.e Idiots guide: center of home: 3(sitting)7 (facing)5 construction. their comment was: Metal pierces wood, domination cycle involving the unfavorable #3 and prevailing but inherently unfavorable #7 - add reductive phase water. ISN'T #7 LUCKY UNTIL 2004 WHEN THE CYCLE CHANGES? Am I making too much out of this? Any good books you could recommend? Thanks soooo much.

Further to what I had mentioned earlier, traditional Feng Shui should be: 1. Based on the Five Elements. 2. If it is not based on the Five Elements, at least, it can be related to Yin and Yang concept. (The only exception is the Eight House Theory where it is still based on the Compass School of Feng Shui) 3. Under Symbolism, it is looked at in relation to "holistic" Feng Shui. It cannot be cited all the time. If it is `cited' all the time or used as an `excuse' all the time without at least in some instances related to Para 1 (5 elements) or Para 2 (Yin and Yang) most likely in my opinion, the person is simply practising `Kindergarten Feng Shui'. Usually, if one looks c…

Dear Anon, I have attached a simple sketch showing in RED, the best areas for activating a mountain stair if it is present. As mentioned earlier, each house is different in layout and in some houses, the back door can be at the kitchen while for others, it is a standalone passage way. The best method is to clearly understand the concept that the mountain star is to enhance the `solid-backing' and not to hinder the frontage by blocking it. Thus for the frontage, it is often suggested that water or clear space is ideal. Warmest Regards, Cecil
