Dear Michele, 1. In general, water is not favorable at the back of the house. However, this is not always true! 2. In fact, what is more important is `Qi' or qi flow in the surrounding and around the home. Here, pools of water even if they are quite a distance away, often at the `back' can be considered favourable. 3. Depending on the layout of the house, sometimes the possibility could be that: 3.1 To take advantage of (if the creek view) is better, the `facing' or frontage of the house can be oriented to face it. 3.2 Or simply creating a patio or garden facing the creek is another consideration. It would be better if you can attach a simple sketch of your house vs the …

Dear Bryan, For TV's and other electrical items, currently there are three views on this:- 1. Electricity is considered a water element because of its " fluid " nature for example we can visualise them like " watercourses " i.e. the flow of electricity through the wires. 2. It can be used to `block' or `neutralise' bad ch'i because it has magnetic properties. For example when we hold a compass to a wire, the compass needle is attracted to the wire. 3. One practioner said that para 2 is all nonsense! She concluded that when Feng Shui was `born' there was no electricity. So she reasoned that this is not true. My own belief is that I would like to believe in Para 1 and 2. Pa…

Dear Cecil, Thank you for your most informative feedback. I have to admit, I have visited Lillian Too's website a few times and noticed that she now has a "FS jewelry" being sold online. I was flabbergasted when I saw that. I immediately questioned her integrity. FS jewelries, of all things.......what's next, FS make-up or FS nail polish line? What color would give you luck on a job interview????? Anyway, I will look into the books/authors you mentioned. Thank you again very much and hope you continue to share proper information.

1. In my opinion, for a newbie to Feng Shui, one may not understand the implication. 2. Usually, the placement of the six coins is meant more as a "cure" than your literal translation of placing coins at the back of the home thus leaking wealth away. 3. IN GENERAL, it is common for Feng Shui practitioners to draw up a chart of a home. For example, each of us have our own date and time that we are born. And a home also has a birth-chart. 4. Thus this home birth-chart is popularly based on what is known as "Flying Star - Compass School Feng Shui'. Frankly, please don't ask me to explain what is Flying Star or Compass School. One has to do more research or use the SEARCH…

Dear Sabina, What I understand is that you have measured your main entrance and it is in the mid-point or compass direction 337.5 degrees i.e. between 0 degrees and 315 degrees If you are using the eight house theory, you need not be too concern with the "type" of house ie. North or NW but rather find out what is the intangible force at the main entrance by checking what intangible force is affecting the North and NW. Best that it is not the death or disaster intangible force at either North or NW. If so, this means that the house is considered the least suitable to the breadwinner. Next, check the intangible force affecting the bedrooms. These are the two key considerat…

Dear Fely, 1. Several years back, I had elaborated on the 4 celestial creatures or simply the "Four Symbolic Animals". 2. In fact, there are several perspective at looking into the Concept of the Four Celestial Creatures or the Four Symbolic Animals. I shall use the short form as FSA (stands for Four Symbolic Animals.) 3. The First Perspective is of a "SYMBOLIC" nature. This is why; it is known as the Four Symbolic Animals. 4. In many societies; the saying goes: "A picture tells a thousand words". 5. What better way to understand a concept is via symbolism or a picture of: 5.1 The FRONTAGE Where possible, we should imagine that the frontage should have clear space. Much l…

These are some considerations: 1. The famous saying Rome is not built in a day. 1.1 Neither can an ANSWER can be immediately given to someone who says "Any remedy for this?" 2.Please note that there are so many concepts and principles. Furthermore, the following are cruicial: STEP 1: Feng Shui Triage Proper trouble-shooting is required. OTHERS: Fix-the-Leak, First! Easily three or more major problems. The Concept of Maximizing Marks Hopefully from a FAIL to a PASS or better! The Customer Engineer Concept If you D.I.Y. make sure you read this!

Dear Jackie, Thanks for taking the time to share with us your Feng Shui encounter. I am very glad that you have benefited from information on this website In the Far East, (as I am more familiar with this area) Feng Shui Masters normally perform Feng Shui audits only. If a house is found to need certain `fixes', he/she would then recommend the householder on what to purchase. The reason for this is obvious, so that there is no conflict of interests (in him/her wanting to do a Feng Shui audit and selling you Feng Shui materials. So far, like you, personally I have reservations about this type of Feng Shui audit. But I am aware, this is widely practised in the West so not s…

Thank you very much foryour answer, I would like to make couple clarifications. 1. The house facing is very bad for my husband, since he is a west group. East is the worst direction for him. Should I be concerned? 2. I understand that kitchen should not be in the NW section of the house, that is why I am thinking of renovate the kitchen. After renovation, the stove will facing east, which still is a bad direction for both of us. Which one is worse? Stove in NW section, or stove facing bad direction? 3. The tree is very health fruit tree, however, it blocks light from east, make the entry dark. Since east is not a good direction, shall I leave it? The door is east facing, c…

1. Frankly, this is not directly linked to any major Feng Shui theory, other than perhaps symbolism and human luck factors. 2. Under symbolism, of course, water draining out is like luck going out of the door. And if one feels not too good with this "omen" then, your human luck factor drops further.

Dear Gina, At the same time when you wrote this, we were in fact looking for another new house for my elder brother. Because of the speed in which `good' units were purchased and that he had missed an earlier opportunity; Robert decided to be one step ahead and developed a comprehensive computerised module especially not only to find a good but rather an `excellent' house i.e. with Double 7s at the front door. Reference: Finding a House module is at http://www.geomancy-online.com Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In such a case: 1. The person having the `spook' should sleep closer to the compass sector while the other party sleeps further away. 2. It depends on `how far' you would like to apply Feng Shui. 3. Usually my advise is to find out more or have a `bigger' picture of the situation. In this regards, you may want to consider looking at other `issues' such as: 3.1. Is the shapes and form of my house `OK'? i.e. Is my main door `protected' from poison arrows (if any) 3.2. The site of my house OK? For example is there a solid backing and clear space at the frontage of the house? Is there a missing corner? 3.3. In the interior of the home, where is the position of the …

Dear Cecil, Today I went to Chinese art shops to find bottle gourds. All I found are attached with pictures such as swastika, Kwan Im, Ba Gua & Tiger. What do you think about the pictures on them? Some of them have holes at the top. I bought one with Kwan Im picture. I think it is more neutral than one with Ba Gua & Tiger pictures. However, mine doesn't have a hole at the top. Should I make one hole? Does size matter? Thanks in advance. Dear Romila, There is no easy way to improve relationships, especially for office or in large organisations. This is because, often you do not have the luxuary to be able to have your own personliased space where you can plan where you can sit / face / colour for your area. Often, area is given to you. So you just have to make do with what you can correct and try to be more tolerant to avoid conflicts. In terms of Feng Shui:- 1. Just use the compatibility report in our members area. URL: http://login.geomancy.net Find out what element do you each belong to and what element is common to both persons. Have more of such elements such as the colour for the common areas …
