1. Under symbolism, in Feng Shui, some geomancers felt that placing "living" things in the bedroom is not a good idea. 2. To them, "living things" including plants and flowers are considered yang. 3. And a bedroom is for rest = more yin condition. 4. Thus some geomancers are not in favour of having even a bouquet of flowers in the bedroom. 5. The above is based strictly on the idea of symbolism. 6. As there are three kinds of luck:- 6.1 Heaven luck (born with - Ba Zi) 6.2 Earth Luck (Feng Shui) 6.3 Human or man luck factors (own feelings) 6.4 all three equally divided gives 33.3 percent each of luck. 7. Some of us, perhaps, yourself feel very good about having such a bri…

1. If the view from the main door is that of the staircase "flowing" downwards, this is inauspicious. As it is symbolic of wealth flowing our and downwards. But if the view is of an "upwards" staircase, this is still acceptable. 2. The most transparent "cure" is the use of grille gates "that have some reflective surface". For example, some people use stainless steel grille gates that have a reflective surface. Or plastic perspex sheet at the lower part of the grill gate (to block cats and dogs from coming in or going out of the house). As the same time, because of the reflective properties of the plastic (perspex) sheet, it acts like a mirror. This is provided that one's…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: According to the Bagua the wealth area of my house happens to be in my laundry room downstairs and in a bathroom in the upstairs of my house. Is this considered a leak? If so is there a cure I can use to put in both of the rooms. Firstly, I just need confirm, when you say the bagua wealth area you are referring to the flying star concept read from the bagua, right? Not the eight aspiration (static bagua) as in this link:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-eight-aspiration.htm The reason I want to clarify is that there is a difference. Flying Star assess the wealth luck which is different from time to time and from hou…

Dear Ben, Thanks for the recent photos. Overall, a Bagua (Pakua) mirror above the window should be ok since you are unable to implement the rest of the other cures. It should be able to neutralise the sha qi. (It would nice to have more - but OK.) The skylight in the middle is acceptable. In fact many of the older Chinese houses do have skylight coming in to the middle court yard. However, if it would not be acceptable if there is a tree exactly in the middle of the court yard. As in one of the recent mail, I mentioned that it is inauspicous to do so. Ideally, the staircase, should be avoided at exactly the centrepoint - and also it should have one or two or more tur…

These are some considerations: 1. A FLAT / APARTMENT This may be aa catch-22 question if it is an apartment or flat: as the facing direction can be interpreted in "many" ways: some geomancers say: stand inside the main door looking outwards; others the facing of the building or stack and/or the "face' is where the most yang energy comes in. If so, for an apartment: sometimes even the main door or front door may not necessarily be the facing direction. Thus, changing the main door may not be correct. 2. LANDED PROPERTY 2.1 For a landed property; in my opinion; majority of the time (especially in Singapore) where homes are back to back; it is highly unlikely that the "face"…

Frankly, all these have to do with personal believes than Feng Shui. In my opinion, it is best not to be too concerned with "other people's logo" especially since one does not have full control over it. If one really fancies a car, then based on ba zi; could go for one's favourable colour(s) for the car. For example in a conscripted army like Singapore uniforms: green = army white = navy blue = air force If a person is a strong wood person. Can this person requests to go into the navy (white) instead as green is considered inauspicious? What you mentioned, therefore is utopian way of thinking. Then there will be others who will say: THREE pointed stars (Mercedes) logo i…

Dear Annie, annie koh wrote: I would like to know the considerations to look into before I hang a family photo on the wall. Is it alright to hang it on a wall that faces the side of the Goddess of Mercy that I have on an altar and the photo also faces the storeroom? A family photo is a private and personal. It is often kept in your family album where possible. Even if you wish to blow up a picture to hang in your home, you also want to keep in private, so really the best location to place such family photo is in the privacy of your study room or even hall way for example. Small photos on table or desk etc is perfectly fine, but big photos that are hung say in the livin…

Dear Cecil, If the direction of the house is determined by the location of the front door, does it matter if the front door is not the entrance that you use? For example, if you mostly use the back entrance. Cheui May

Dear Chloe, Yes, it is best to avoid placing a bagua mirror facing inside the house. In my opinion, you could place two potted plants on both sides of the main door entrance. But if the plants does block the walkway, then do not place the plants. I feel that a crystal ball would not help the situation. Overall, for now I am too sure how the two doors `interact'. But, since they do not create any poison arrows or sha qi, perhaps, you need not place any objects at these sectors. Warmest Regards, Cecil

As I understand it a mirror in the bedroom is also bad because of the energyflow it may reflect on to the bed while you are sleeping. This I have gotten from master Lam Kam Chuen?s books witch almost i my only source of feng shui knowledge. While the chi energy flow is hard to prove it exist its the closest to a scientific explanation i know (I look quite scientific on feng shui myself).

Edited by Robert: Combined similiar post together Dear Robert, Thank you for your reply. I have a clearer idea what to do for my stove in the kitchen now. However, im now more worried as u also mentioned: A. suitability of the house for the breadwinner B.favourable bedroom for breaswinner, etc i'm only owner and living alone with flatmate so i am main breadwinner. According to the personal analysis, i belong to the east group, my gua number is 9 and i'm a south house with N, E, SE and S as best directions. My main door faces SW [six killings] and my best bedrom in the flat lies in the NW [death for front of room]/ N [longevity for back of room near window]. A…

These are additional considerations:- 1. Earth luck is strongest on the ground. Thus for a landed property, the sitting and facing direction is much easier to get correct: unless the land is complicated by e.g. the back of the home faces a beautiful lake etc... 2. But if your "potential house" is really not a landed property but a so called high rise; What makes one think that you can get the facing direction 100 percent correct? Even amongst geomancers; can't agree with the sitting and facing direction. 3. As mentioned under Para 2; G.I.G.O. If one feels that facing direction is West but instead the real facing direction is another facing direction.... 4. Facing west si…

1. Like all investigative sciences; in order for you to make any enhancement(s) and/or reduce any negative qi: Feng Shui Triage. Tell us: how to remedy ifno investigations are done: TRIAGE 2. The Eight House / Eight Mansions (4 Good/Bad directions) concept can be used to futher look at the best bed-head direction. 3. Shapes and Forms of the bedroom: often this is limited by the bedroom door, windows and other fixtures in a bedroom e.g. entrance to the attached bedroom. 4. Alternatively; if the above are not applied; then it is as good as doing Trial and Error Feng Shui. Logically, it is either going thru Para 1 to 3 or "free for all".

Your question is similar to another question. And here goes:- Based on the Chinese Holy Trinity of Luck: 1. Heaven (Born with) 2. Earth (Feng Shui) 3. Man or Human Luck (feel good) So long as it makes you feel good or comfortable with it, why not? Since feeling good contributes to "improving one's luck". Particularly = Man or Human Luck factor.

Dear Kyra, For sha qi or poison arrows, the main concern would be whether, the poison arrow is aimed directly towards the main entrance door or the window(s). Based on your brief description, looks like the Shapes and Form of this house is not that favourable. Initially, try to see, by standing at the main entrance (looking out) and from the various windows of your home to check for poison arrows. If there are poison arrows, do try to `protect' these locations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Reference: http://talk.geomancy.net These are some considerations:- 1. In general, somehow for convenience; an industry is slotted into a specific element. Thus, in general; oil as you had mentioned is considered as belonging to the fire element. While in general, transportation is considered as belonging to the wood industry. 2. Frankly, there is no right or wrong answers; Look at where we are today! We are in the age of "multi-tasking" and "multi-skilling". 3. Therefore, there is really no end to the various (if what questions) like we transport oil so what should we be considered? What happens if one is transporting milk? What industry should that be in. Or we are tra…

Dear Nancy, Thanks for your kind words. In my opinion, majority of us do not really need " Feng Shui ". (Take the case of the less fortunate). In fact, many of us are able to have a happy and wholesome life. It is what makes us special:) Usually, in today's world, questions asked are: If one is often sick quite often or face severe hardships or `calamity', could use proper FS investigations to look into what's wrong. Thus, it is always my belief that if it `ain't broken don't fix it. Many of us are able to use our `sixth sense' or even `accomodate' ourselves i.e. blend in with our surroundings .... Warmest Regards, and have a happy life:) Cecil

(Actually I did write a longer article but it was lost when I tried to post pictures with it. So on the second attempt, I didnt write ingreater details cos I was worried that all the writing will be lost again) Sir, 9ms 7ws was described as "fortunately there is weak fire to control the bad star #7's weak metal, but it is insufficient so make use of red to control metal". I have beenkeeping theMaitreya Buddha's statuein my wardrobe for three years but I decided to put it there now with the dual purpose of hopefully activating my mt star as well as to make offerings of coins. You'll notice that there are already some $1 coins there already. In the past in another house, I …

Dear Forum Users, Usually, under conditions of YIN, there may be " playfull imps " or spirits. They usually mean no harm to anyone but can bad cause "nightmares." Medium sized to large trees plus additional things like a wind chime may increase the YIN at such locations and attract such playfull imps to be around. Too many concentration of trees are considered a too YIN environment. For the benefit of new members here, my next door neighbour's bungalow has at least a minimum of 5 or more wind chimes located at the West or YIN location. This means that the likelyhood that one can get `mental problems'. True enough, this next door neighbour always carry around a video camer…

Hi, Recently, I read in the local newspapers that living too close to hight tension wires are not adviseable. However, rougly from what you have wrote, I guess the high tension poles/wires are quite far away. The recent article mentioned the higher incidence of `cancer' living too close to the high tension wires. If it quite far away, it usually do not pose any `threat' to your dinning room windows. In my personal opinion, if it is more than 600 metres away is still acceptable. If there are trees planted between the high tension poles and your home much the better. Let me share with you one of the Traditional Feng Shui Theories called " Penmanship ". In the past, many Chi…

Dear Cah, 1. The main concern here is that #9 is a fire element. Or some call it the purple star. Where purple is also the colour of fire element. 2. In many previous messages regarding Flying Star; especially taking into consideration the 20 Year Flying star : where there are three variables: Mountain# ; Water# and Base# 2.1 Again, we must look at all these three variables in order to see whether #9 as a Water star "can be enhanced or not". 2.2 Under Period 8, even for comparing just the Mountain# with Water#; there are lots of instances where there are MS#5 with WS#9 and worse many sectors have Base#2 or #5. In this case, unfortunately, insteadof enhancing #9.. one …

Appended by Cecil: Please refer to my last forum reply. This is a Free General Advise Forum and as I had mentioned, it is so simple to furnish a site plan or a street direction plan. And then ask the question: Tell me which unit is better. All these needs lots of attention and effort to look into the fine details. All such site plans will not be evaluated within this Free GENERAL advice forum. Here is the details map...

Dear Carina, Please see below:- 1. Ideally, please check that it should not be in the North sector of the home. 2. Where possible the stove should face inwards i.e. face inwards of the main door. If the above are met, it is still considered acceptable. Usually, a small table, be it hexagon, square etc.. (coffee table) will not make an impact on the house. Usually, the table should not have a poison arrow aimed at e.g. the sofa. As for the Ba Gua table, its angle or 8 corners should not pose a problem as it is not like the corners of a rectangle or square table at 90 degrees angle. I assume that the beam must be a concrete beam. If you are staying in Singapor…
