Dear Wasis, 1. Under the Eight House Theory, the only thing that we can do is to change the direction of the main door. For example, if the main door is facing North-East (and based on Feng Shui Master's recommendation); this door should change for two reasons:- 1.1. NE (direction) is considered the devil's gate. 1.2. If NE direction is not suitable to the breadwinner. Then, to `kill two birds' within one stone; the main door direction can be changed. (Again, it should be on the advice of a FS practitioner). It is normally not good to give a "wholesale" advise on this matter as a proper audit should be done. And the recommendation "depends" on all the various inputs tha…

Dear Hoa Luong, Thanks for your many clarifications. Yes, overall, red is considered an auspicious colour. From your information, I personally feel that it is OK for you to continue with the red painted frontage doors of your convenience store. And this should not have any adverse contrast with the `water' grey colour. Overall, red is indeed an auspicious colour for business. In particular, for example, if it has brass ornaments on it (not compulsory thou). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Bansari, Bansari shah wrote: We have same wooden beam in my kids room too. which one works better 1) bamboo flute or 2) wooden support. Thanks for your advice. Bansari Generally, these are the two common ways to cure the beam problem. Both are equally effective. So can't tell you which is better. However, from design point of view the two wooden support looks less like feng shui cure and can add some decorative effect. However, if you really want the most effective method would be to build a false ceiling. From feng shui point of view, if you can no longer see the threat it no longer becomes a problem. So really, the most effective is to build a false ceiling to co…

Dear Anon, Another area, you can look at or minimise miscarriages is to check whether there is a #5 (misfortune) especially in your bedroom. You can generate the free flying star report and check if #5 is in the bedroom where you are staying in. (In a more advanced level the 81 combinations of the two stars may give a clue as to the type of problems which may be associated with miscarriage) If so, #5 or #2 (sickness) should be appropriately neutralised. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear K Chin, K Chin wrote: Since the shape of objects affect the luck, health and wealth of a person or apartment, do the shape and the color of a sofa have any effect on luck orhealth ? In general, you have to always rank what is important. ie. If in a room, then the colour of the room and the key furniture colours will affect the overall feng shui of the room. The other smaller objects will play only a smaller role. Therefore, generally the colour of the sofa will play the greatest influence for the element of the sofa, followed by the material and the shape of the sofa. Dear Cam, Since the home is in escrow, do what you already. If you are applying Feng Shui principles, then the most important is firstly to check for any "threats" aimed towards the home such as a lone lamp-post slicing owards e.g. the main entrance or windows. Space-clearing is another commonsense approach to Feng Shui i.e. do not overly clutter the home, garage with too many boxes and storeaways etc... If you are still into Feng Shui, then take your time to understand key concepts like: Shapes and Forms Compass School : Eight House (like what you are doing) and if possible chart out a Flying Star chart of your home. Dear Shelley, I glad that you find the site useful. Feel free to use the " Search " feature on most pages of the website or for specific messages, login to this forum, there is also a Search icon. This is one of the most easiest way to search through the vast amounts of information available in this website. To answer your question: 1. 14. Dear Anon, 1. In the past, a butcher is a butcher, a merchant is a merchant. And job analysis is pretty easy to define. 2. For example in the past, a Chinese book-keeper involving in the counting of money e.g. metal coins can be considered under the profession of an accounting career. Thus, since, he or she is involved in money (coins) then, his/her career is associated with metal. 3. Nowadays, many of us are involved in multi-skilling i.e. we may not necessarily do one job but have various job-skills. 4. In general, we can classify the industry that you are in (Finance) as in the Metal element. But, a planner be it a finance planner or other planners is involved in "…

These are further clarifications: 1. Shapes like what you had posted, is a good candidate for trying to get the area of protusion close to missing area(s). 2. Here, please take note that the area of protusion NEED not necessarily be the actual protusion. 3. For example, using judgement; the missing area can be as large as (you want) and the protusion can be as little or as much as you "want". 4. Ultimately, what one wants to achieve here is that as far as possible, the missing areas should match that of a protusion. As in my example. 5. Unlike a recent posting asking me to find the centrepoint (centre-of-gravity) - where I mentioned that there is a long passageway and th…

Dear Anon, Sorry to learn about it. Try to relax Frankly, it is difficult for me to give you proper advise as there are limited information in-order to do a detailed study to minimize any issues relating to Feng Shui. For example, although the facing direction is provided, things like which period your home belongs to and also other things need to be looked into e.g. layout plan. Traditionally, (not Feng Shui) the Chinese do not like to move furniture around especially any furniture in the bedroom of conception e.g. most likely the master bedroom. Do take care! Cecil Lee

Dear Andy, Usually, objects such as these lions should be placed (preferably) outwards or at the both ends of the main entrance. It is common to find a pair of Lion statues `guarding' main entrances of many Chinese buildings. Majority of the time, because of the size of the statues, it acts as a `cosmetic' decor to the building. Somehow, perhaps, it gives confidence to both visitors and owners of the place. Your lions may not be exactly that large (or huge). Perhaps, it can be placed as a decorative item i.e. on the floor on both ends of the display cabinets. Do check the `face' of the lions: Are they `majestic' or do they give a fierce look? If they `give' a fierce look,…

Dear Anon, The more important consideration as you have mentioned is to try avoid having an `L' shape. It is thus better to `break' down the `L' into two square/rectangle shape. It does not really matter here if you have to decide what to call the two `halves'. You can call one the main living room and the other any name. It really does not matter. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, Please read below:- Usually it is a 3-legged frog with a coin in its mouth. As Cecil has mentioned, Feng Shui is not about religion or statues worship. Many Feng Shui or Feng Shui related shops are marketing oriented and sell a wide variety of products which claims that by buying the product and placing it in your home, it brings you luck. Therefore, it is not part feng shui. If you want to place it, I guess it best displayed in your living room and based more on your instincts. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Anon, Perhaps, this could be a coincidence. Note: this is not Feng Shui, but is quite common activity for some Chinese that are truly down on their luck:- However, for the Chinese, some would prior to taking a bath:- 1. purchase a few limes. Cut the limes into 4 quarters. 2. purchased assorted flowers. get ready the above and place them in a small basin of luke warm water After bathing, just pour this water with lime/flowers over our head . Next, dry ourselves with bath rope. And collect the items and throw them away. Often, avoid going into the toilet for the next 2 hours or so. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  23. A Dreamcatcher is the Native American way to guard dreams. It gathers bad dreams during the nightime hours to be cleared away the next morning at sunrise. It is usually placed in the bedroom above your bed. Most people use it n childrens rooms to protect them from bad dreams during the night. As for having a small one in the car, it may have to do with dreams involving a car accident that they don't wat to have anymore or we just think it looks neat up their by the mirror.
