Without fail, many Indians (Hindus) often place water melons; and in this case : hang a large water melon beside the main door. Water melons has been around for centuries. In fact, Egypt and India has been in-love with this one of the largest fruits since 3,000 years ago. In India, water melons are commonly found in the summer. And what better significance is to have a water melon placed on the ground or hung during summer-time.... 1. In my opinion, scientifically, so long as the "disease" is not contagious - spread thru air, then frankly, there is no scientific basis other than what you had mentioned based more on a "taboo". 2. It makes more sense to say to that it would be most likely the concern that such impressions or a sudden situation e.g. someone having a heart problem or in some cases, some people "foam thru their" mouth prior to death. 3. Thus, we do not inadvertenly want to "scar" someone so young with such "a horrible" - painful situation endured by others. 4. stand by dentures all these are merely "old folk" theories, that's all. 9. An interest article. In Singapore where the vast majority are Chinese, many hindus (Indians) also have the opinion that dark colours e.g. black is considered inauspicious. In fact on the contrary, for the Hindus, black is a favourable colour; just that many are not aware of it. And perhaps, assume that just because the Chinese associate black with "death" or "gloom"; they chose to do the same...

The outspoken single woman is founder of Preserve Virginity, a website dedicated to promoting virginity before marriage in China. This new model Jaguar spots a rather unusual figurine on the dashboard. It should be most likely for "protection". There is Saint Christopher, this is most likely a GOD or deity of Chinese transportation... DId you see the figurine in GREEN? A green "genie" of sorts? Some of the photos were taken on different days. The photos with the TWO mandarin oranges was taken during Chinese New Year. Mandarin Oranges x 2 represents gold. And the two mandarin oranges were exchanged during Chinese New Year...

  12. Dear Rochi, 1. If you want a `Quantum Leap' in finding a good home, it is not just about one issue i.e. the main door. 2. One should not be narrowly focused just on the location of the main door if all else are "so, so " or inauspicious. 3. I mentioned in some forum messages that we must maximise the `score' of the home. For example, I given an example about Examinations. Image that an examination paper consists of 4 sections and each section is compulsory. Here, it is ideal to maximise your marks in all sections. It is no point scoring high marks in Section 1 and failing Section 2 questions. 4. I hope you can see my point that one should not concentrate totally on just o…

  14. Dear Sir, I came across your website and find it very interesting. I have just learned from a relative of mine that it is a good Chinese Taboo to throw a brand new scissor into the house when we enter into an empty house to drive away bad luck and spirit. After which, to discard the scissors away. I find it rather amusing and doubtful after I have read your forum on advice about on MOVING INTO EMPTY HOUSE. Can you help by sharing with me your knowledge and experience about such practice? Have youcome across such Chinese taboo in moving into empty house? Appreciate your helpgreatly. Thanks. TANKK

Hi master, I recently bought a house. The house is sitting on the North East and Facing south west. The garden and living room are faing south west. however the main door entry is on the North East not south west. On the south west part of the house is much lower than the North East. Therefore the house has a good back support with North East mountain. Because the main road is sit on the North East, therefor the main door entry is on the North East. After entrying the main door there are 2 star case one goes up to the 2nd floor and 3 floor, and one is going down to the kitchen and living room. 1. To the Cantonese (dialect group) of the Chinese, the number 4 sounds like "death" in Cantonese. And anything with 4 or double 4 or even triple 4 is considered inauspicious. 2. Thus, this is not Feng Shui; but rather, the phonetic sound like "death". And homes or apartments that have this number would be considered as inauspicious thus may affect the future re-sale value of this apartment.
