Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have sold my house and need to move out on the settlement day on 30 Sept. I have found a rental house to move in. I want to know when is the auspicous day for me to move in between now to 30 Sept. I checked on the Auspicious Days and found the ones for me is on 26 & 27 Setp. Apologise, have been so busy after I got back from overseas, that I managed to clear most of my cases today for me toattend to the forum post. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Thanks a lot for your reply. I would head your advise and meanwhile I would identify all the 'poison arrow' pointing toward me in this new office! Yes, improving favourable colours and fixing other poison arrows would be the only thing you can do since you have no control over the other move-in factors. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My HDB unit's main door faces North East and it also directly faces my living room windows which are from ceilling to floor.Friends told us that these facings are bad. There are many factors to look at before one can even comment on whether the house is good or bad. ie External Shapes and Form - whether any external building across your home cuts into your home, the Qi flow for your block etc. ie Flying Star of the house - you need to know what is the direction of the home to actually determine how is the house luck. ie. Suitability to the home (eight house & ba zi) - you need to know if the owner and rest of the family member suits t…

Dear Melissa, Firstly, this procedure is not meant for a large office where the walls are entirely of glass. As one of the procedures is to cover the entire office to pitch-black. Secondly, these are quite standard procedures:- Select an auspicious date & time for the Office Warming Day. 1 On this day, make sure that all windows, ventilation must be covered up - usually with black paper or cloth. So that when one enters the room, it should be in total darkness. 2 Hang a red banner across the banner of the business. 3 During this time, all electricty to the unit should be off. No equipment is to be turned on. 4 Before the auspicious time, the owner or manager…

Dear Anon, In Singapore, a frog is quite rare sight. But not sure, how prevalent they are in your country. But alternatively, could be instead be a toad? A frog is known as a celestial cock and a symbol of a frog is common on a charm to act as protection. Both a toad and frog are known as "moon" creatures or creatures that are associated with the moon. For a toad, it symbolises longevity. No harm "chasing it" away so long as not harming them. In the past, the educated in China really hate the frogs / toad croaking as this affects their concentration in learning or work. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Usually, we do not have the luxury of a separate study room. Thus for many of us, our bedroom doubles-up as a study room. 2. The practical approach is to organise or keep our bedroom neat and tidy at all times to create a good ambience for both rest and work. 3. For Feng Shui, it is good to face your "fu wei" but we also have to take into consideration the room layout as well as sunlight. 3.1 For example, if our bedroom window face the afternoon sun (west) directly, and if we often use the bedroom to study in the afternoon, than it may not be too good an idea to sit facing the window (even if this is our fu wei) direction - unless we can somehow control …

Dear Jenny, Feng Shui has several flavours:- 1. Commonsense approach to Feng Shui Much of Feng Shui has to do with commonsense. For example, it is not favourable to have a toilet bowl above the main entrance. i.e. one day, if the pipe leaks, it may flow into the home. Another typical commonsense example, is a kitchen above the bedroom. Here, there can be a higher probability of a fire from the kitchen. And since fire/smoke rises upwards, it may affect the above rooms (bedroom). 2. Scientific forms of Feng Shui Using Compass School Feng Shui such as Eight House and Flying Star 3. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui Understanding qi and poison arrows that can affect the exte…

Dear Joe, 1. In my opinion, this is far from the truth. 2. In fact, in our daily lives, what is more harmful are the unseen (cannot be seen to our naked eyes) such as e-coli bateria and pests like cockroaches etc... 3. Humans have always taken a liking for pets. And man's best friend is a dog. 4. Other animals, if they are kept clean are equally acceptable pets. 5. Often, many good children have grown up being responsible parents and lead a good life have often been associated with pets. 6. Keeping pets, and responsible pet care can teach a child to be responsible. 7. In fact, in my opinion, rearing pets comes under the category " Ren Cai " or Human / Man luck category. …

Dear Joe, 1. Yes, this is not Feng Shui; but rather can be loosely classified as `beliefs'. 2. In my opinion, (or frankly), I don't think that there is an issue here. 3. If we disregard my comments under Para 2, personally, I would not place a `Welcome' mat at the balcony if it leads to `nowhere'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I was wondering how are natural crystals used in feng shui. Especially amethyst geodes and other natural quartz crystals. It would also be helpful to find out how to cleanse them as well. Thank you.

Dear Magic One, I am not sure if this site can help but they have articles relating to "psychic scams". http://www.crimes-of-persuasion.com/Crimes/InPerson/MajorPerson/psychic_scams.htm Under the above url, a common scam is related to problems related to `evil' . For information about family, sometimes, it is easy for others to obtain the information. Or, sometimes, one or more family members could have `given the information' or it happens that by coincidence, some of the questions `hit'. I personally feel -- stay cautious. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Angela, Please see below:- Since it is a light lamp, you can try to buy those golden or silver `stars' or cut out star shaped paper of 1.5 cm each x 6 pieces will do. I also You may have to relook the picture of the river. In my opinion, I feel that, you should not place the picture. (Just my personal feeling only). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lori, In the Chinese zodiac sign; rooster is the 10th animal in it. The significance is that it is highly regarded. Symbollically, a rooster (with red mane) coming into a home signifies that it is a `protector' of "fire". Warmest Regards, Cecil

Feng Shui does not excessively control every aspect of our lives. So, go ahead and use fridge magnets. They are often given as promotional items or vacation mementos. Many people collect magnets from their travels and proudly display them, showcasing places and iconic buildings from different countries. Feel free to express yourself. Feng Shui mainly focuses on our Earth Luck, while this area is more related to Human Luck. It's about feeling good, adding a personal and colorful touch. You know what I mean, don't you?

I agree with Mr. Lee. These days, unscrupulous people, including fengshui practitioners, want you to believe that certain objects are imbued with mystical powers that can help you get rich. Some even claim that they have empowered them through some rituals. In Buddhism, this is called false words('wang yu'),and do incur karmic consequences.

Dear Rochi, 1. If you want a `Quantum Leap' in finding a good home, it is not just about one issue i.e. the main door. 2. One should not be narrowly focused just on the location of the main door if all else are "so, so " or inauspicious. 3. I mentioned in some forum messages that we must maximise the `score' of the home. For example, I given an example about Examinations. Image that an examination paper consists of 4 sections and each section is compulsory. Here, it is ideal to maximise your marks in all sections. It is no point scoring high marks in Section 1 and failing Section 2 questions. 4. I hope you can see my point that one should not concentrate totally on just o…

Please Help! I am getting ready to purchase a home and I want to make the right decision. I have heard you can tell the fortune of your home by the way in which your main door faces. Is the main door the main door or the one I will always enter the home through which would be the garage or is it the garage door itself that I would be driving into. Please help it seems that eveyone says something different? If I habitually enter my home through the garage door into the home is it that my main door or the garage I drive into, or the main door outside the home which I don't use often? My birthstar is 2 I need to know what to be looking for? Can someone help me please! I need…

Dear Anon, 1. If one does a FS audit, it is good to look at `alternative 1' and `alternative 2'. The alternatives (1 and 2) refers to your analysis of `what if I use the garage door' or use an alternative door your actual main door. 2. Here, we normally, try to see which has better Feng Shui. We then have a bigger picture of the two alternatives. 3. In Feng Shui, many Feng Shui experts believe that it is usually, the door that has your house number. From past experience, you still consider the new door e.g. garage door if you use it more than the main entrance door. So, thus it is best that you do an audit based on the direction of each door first. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Elena, Yes, there are some truth in this. But it is more a belief than Feng Shui. However, some `modern' bread that are rectangular in shape, do not meet the above `criteria'. These bread are machine cut and sits on the base of one rectangular side. Some may even consider the bread on a side but difficult to `differentiate.' Warmest Regards, Cecil
