Dear John, Yes, twins will start out with the same "Heaven's map" but due to their individual experience plus:- 1. Feng Shui - in the future, should they be married or otherwise, they may not stay in the same home. Even if they stay in the same home, they may not sleep exactly at the same location (unless they continue to sleep on double decker beds all their life). 2. It is said that other attributes includes kindess, generosity and compassion differ from individuals. Please note that the above are not modern inventions with regards to Pillars of Destiny. The above are as mentioned earlier (above) are some of the `escape clauses' of Pillars of Destiny since it was devise…

Dear John, Pian Cai or Unexpected Wealth usually refers to either wealth gained thru promotions and monetary merits gained from work or that there is a greater chance of winnings at the lottery. This is particulary so, if one's specific 10 year Luck Pillars as shown in this example:- http://sg.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/leakinexistinghome.htm Has pian cai at the age of 32 to 41 (1989 to 1998). While Pian Yin or Unexpected Funds, usually refers to funds e.g. such as inheritance. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

My date of birth shows that my choice is a south west house. Your notes say this means that the main door faces South West and is regarded as the orientation of the house as a whole. My own house's main door direction is northwest. How do I read your notes and apply it to my house plan? I have searched your site on fountain's position and the best direction you have recommended is SE and N. My south west house shows that SE is spook whilst N is death. I am confused as to where I can placed my newly bought fountain. Can you advise me? Thanks..

Hi Mr Lee, I am generated a report for comparision and The results are three "harm" in earthly branches and none in heavenly branches. Are all "harm" harmful? If not, how to tell if the "harm" are auspicious or not? Which type of harm is most serious? What is the difference between "harm" and "clash"? What is the impact? What is the difference between "harm" or "clash" in heavenly branch and earthly branch? What is the impact? Thanks

Dear Anon, 1. The key answer to your question is on the use of your date of birth. 2. The reason why we can get confused over this is because of what type of information was used and applied. 3. For example, in your case, whe you mentioned that you are a `fire-horse', it would mean that only your Year of birth has been looked at. 4. It is true that in one of your pillars, you have a fire and a horse. 5. However, the key to understanding which predominates is to go further into finer details. For example, in just the Year pillar alone there are two components `fire and horse'. And imagine, when we add more `components or variables' such as Month, Day and Time of birth. 6.…

I'm born on the 4th of Nov, 1980 (8ish am) and that I belong to the strong chart so does that mean that Wood, water and fire are favourable to me? I was also told by a professional that I should work in the legal field, which belong to the wood element. Does web designing, interior designing, advertising belong to the wood element too? Or are they more towards Fire since more time is spent on computer than paper work? Thanks, Cristy

Dear David, In Ba Zi, the chief concern is on one's true element and strength. As this is determined from Pillars of Destiny (Ba Zi) in relation to the relationship of all other elements and the season in which you were born. Thus, even if there is zero water element in one's Ba Zi, water does not equate the life `threatening' senario where we must have water to survive. Water is like any other components such as fire. Thus, in a senario where one has zero fire, it does not mean that we need to "go near" fire. Or eat `fiery' food or food considered as Yang or too much fried food stuffs. Esentially, if you are considered as a "weak fire" person, then wood is considered the…

Dear Cecil, Thanks for the credited reports. I have run all three reports and tried to analyse and understand. Here's my few questions that need enlightenment. So sorry that the questions are going to be quite a fair bit. Many thanks in advance. 1. First from the pillar of destiny, it seems that my element clashes with my husband. I am weak earth and he is weak water. My favourable element is earth and fire. He is 1966 and I am 1970. What can be done to harmonise? 2. In our new house which yet to be renovated, and since his kua 7 and mine 3 is of opposite, the house favour him instead of me. So I read that to neutralise, I should inject element that flavour me. I intend t…

Hello - my date of birth is 12 noon Oct 2 1964 in Manchester, UK I believe I may be a fake follow power type chart what does this mean? what is the best course of action to avoid any dangerous elemental day/month/year combinations that I've read could even be life threatening?? this all seems very worrying because in fake follow types the usual way to strengthen a weak day master can precipitate disaster?

Dear Anon, Further to what I mentioned earlier, red packet is also placed. Dear Hoa Luong, 1. Yes, this year, the Grand Duke is at South or 180 degrees. 2. Under the Chinese Astrology. If one look carefully at the 12 Chinese Astrology signs on the main page of http://www.geomancy.net/love/astrology.htm 2.1 One can notice that the Rat is directly opposite the Horse. Others: Pig is opposite the snake etc.. 2.2 Under Chinese Astrology, the animal sign opposite each other are suppose to be `opposites' or most incompatible. 2.3 Since this is the Year of the Horse ( 180 degrees - South - Fire element). And the Rat is directly opposite it. The Rat is at (0 degrees - North - Water element). 3. Here, one is aware that Fire and Water are opposites. 4. Th…

Dear Anon, 1. I am glad that you enjoyed this site. 2. As you have not mentioned i.e. the house number report is more for apartments/flats. And is of secondary importance in Feng Shui. However, if you are staying in an apartment -- a symbolic remedy of house numbers is not to place then in a straight line:- For example: 5 1 3. Leave the 1 at the existing line and raise the 5 (sligthly) above it. Not necessarily as shown above where the 5 is one level higher. Depending on the font used: the 5 can be raised higher. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, So long as one is not staying or spending time below a beam, this is OK. As there is no `suppression' of Qi e.g. on a person's head. I am glad that you have clarified that it is a wooden beam. For a wooden beam, if one spents time below: the remedy is to place 6 coins on the beam i.e. stick on it. Or cut aluminium foil x 6 pieces of around 2cm diameter. The alternative is to cut it into the shape of stars. The rationale for this is because, for wooden beam -> metal is required to destroy it. Contrast this with a concrete beam where majority of it is cement or earth. And wood is used here to destroy cement i.e. what is seen externally here is cement or soil/s…

Dear Anon, I feel that you have asked a very interesting question. In this website, if one noticed carefully, we have chosen various colour schemes also for various sections of the website:- 1. For Feng Shui resources e.g. our banner or header is green. Green symbolises the east or growth or literally speaking " growth in one's knowldege ". 2. For the forum, the colour is blue. Which represents "water element" i.e. fluid. Where forum messages are always fluid and like the "waves" is never constant. Questions posted; for example are frequently new or distinctive. 3. This website uses various different colours. 4. For our astrology section e.g. http://www.lovesigns.net - …

Dear Angelina, House of Life & House of Conception are two ADVANCED pillars used only in advanced pillars of destiny anaysis. Of greater importance is the House of Life as that determines if you are a Strong or Weak person. As it denotes how your life is based on your Eight Characters. House of Conception is more useful for female analysis and it help to detemine areas like marriage and spouse relationships. Generally for any person there is 4 types of of relation, Weak yin Wood, Strong yin Wood, Weak yang Wood, Strong yang Wood. Generally the yin & yang helps more to tell about the characteristics of a person. As there is a difference in character for a yin …

Dear Serene, 1. The best `neutral' colour in Feng Shui is white. White serves two fold: 1. it represents the metal element and is one of the safest element to apply. 2. Under the Yin and Yang concept, white makes the house `brighter'. For those who just got their condominiums, can choose to continue with the colour painted. Usually, condominiums use white interior or light cream. This still OK. 3. If one is really not too sure, so long as it is white; off-white or white + light shades of it mixed into white is exceptable. For lily-white, this is usually still OK. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear All, How come one is born `Strong' and another person born `Weak'. Pillars of Destiny, in essence is about applying the Five Elements concept to analyse our Earthly Branches and Heavenly Stems. In general, and in the more basic Pillars of Destiny involving only the Year, Month, Day and Time of birth, there are three main categories that could have resulted in one's element being weak:- 1. You are not born in the season that supports your element. and/or 2. There is `weak support' on your Earthly branches. and/or 3. There is `weak support' on your Heavenly stems. For example, if you are a Weak Fire person: (CLUE: Favourable elements: Wood and/or Fire element) Looking…

Dear All, 1. Can we apply this reasoning to Pillars of Destiny? 2. Here are two sentences to ponder:- 2.1 Sentence 1: I am Strong: " Strong, Stronger, Strongest " And 2.2 Sentece 2: I am Weak: " Weak, Weaker, Weakest ". If one looks at the above two sentences, it may make sense if we read the first sentence: I am Strong. But, how come Weak becomes Weaker and Weakest? Does this imply poor health? 3. The key to Five Elements concept, is about balance. Thus, under Pillars of Destiny, one should neither be too `Strong' or too `Weak'. For example, if a person is a "Weak Wood" element, then he/she will need Water (favourable element) to help his/her weak wood grow. Similarly,…

Dear Md Haque, To take a compass reading, one should take the compass degree of the main door. The definition of the main door is the door where, you enter the living room area. Usually, this door has the door number on it. For reference:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

From my understanding people can be classiflied as East/West group person. For example I'm a female born in 1973, I belong to the West-group people and the most favourable house for me will be CHIEN which is a WEST house. The favourable LOCATIONS of WEST house are (NE,NW,W,SW) and favourable LOCATIONS of EAST house are (N,S,SE,E) My concern is if I have to stay in a EAST house, do I locate my bedroom in EAST house favourable LOCATIONS(NE,NW,W,SW) or WEST house favourable LOCATIONS(N,S,SE,E)? Hopefully, I get my question right this time.

Dear David, If you used many of the free analysis tools on our My FengShui website, all your answers will be answered:- Based on a quick check on the various free reports:- - You are a fire element person (whether weak or strong will depend on a full analysis of the Pillars of Destiny) - Your Kua Number is 5 - Your Chinese Horoscope is Monkey. Luck Pillars can only tell your heavenly luck. Your bad luck could be due to your current house you are staying may not be suitable for you or contain bad stars. Not just the pillars. Or simply a very unsuitable job element for example. Unless a more complete analysis is done with your Pillars of Destiny and Flying Star of the house…

Dear Diane, When you mentioned inauspicious area, is the inauspicious determined by Eight House or Flying Star theory? If it is determined by Eight House, eg. irration sector, then there is very little you can do, as you should simply avoid that sector. This is because you simply do not suit it. If it is determined by Flying Star, eg. bad sector must use cure. Then you can use the cure suggested. Usually, most of the flying star cure does not directly impact a person's personal element as they are applied in a small quantity. For your personal element, in order to enhance it, you should use metal or water, so simply wear more metal or water colours (white/gold, blue/back…
