Hello, I'm new to the forum but I have been reading Bazi for some time now. Just have some questions when choosing suitable industry and job role. Should one choose an industry based on the useful god? If the useful god is few or not found in chart, can we still consider the industry as long as it falls under the useful god element? Or does the industry matter at all? As long as one's job role is under their main profile? When choosing a specific job position, would it matter if the element which represents their main profile is unfavorable? Or is it still okay to take on job role since one has inherent talent with it. Appreciate any advise.

Dear Jason, In terms of Ba Zi, there will come a time where a year may have a clash or harm or punishment in conflict with your year of birth. This is quite common. Exactly, how bad, the detailed ba zi yearly forecast will be able to give you a better idea. For the chinese horoscope, this can be quite general. Meaning that it does not mean that all Rabbit for example will be bad. As mentioned, even for Rabbit there is a weak water Rabbit / Strong water Rabbit etc. So each will have slightly different impact. However, whenever a year is in conflict with your animal sign, then it is advisable to be extra careful in whatever you do that year. Try to always have more of yo…

Dear Elena, 1. This is a relatively new area for `western' names. 2. For the Chinese, this is easy as "Geomancy of finding a Name" is in place and as mentioned in a recent earlier message, there are three main Methods of Name finding. 3. Some Feng Shui or `Geomancy' practitioners I know, simply count the number of characters of a person's name e.g. George (6 characters) Livingstone (11 characters) and then `map' it to either YIN or YANG. Then use this to tell their clients that their name is either too yin, too yang or `balanced'. Well, this is in my opinion, the easiest way to find out if a `name' is too yin or too yang or balanced. But, as this is relatively new, not su…

Dear Linda, Linda Tung wrote: I was wondering if the score of these deities can be combined with your spouses? Sorry, but you cannot just combine the ba zi's ten deity. This characteristics of whether you have a very potential bussiness accumen iscannot be just combined from two different charts. Also, frankly, only a very few handful of people really have such a special characteristics. This ten deities often is the individual's characteristics. So you cannot just supplement that from another person's chart. However, though you cannot combine the two chart's ten deities, partnering with an element that is favourable for you, can ensure that the partner can boost the a…

Hi, Apologise for the late response, as you can see we were busy with a major face-lift of the site. My meaning of a the binding element is the element which smooth the relationship between two different elements. For example a strong wood, and a weak earth person is likely be comfortable with each other if they are in constant contact with fire element. Thus, fire is considered the binding element. This is because without fire, the strong wood would destroy the weak earth. Thus not compatible to stay together. However, with the introduction of fire, the strong wood would be weaken to produce fire (which is good for strong wood person) at the same time the strengthen…

Dear ANON: No, it's not true. I have 2 wealth elements and 3 intelligence elements and I'm neither a celebrity nor famous. I would think it really depends on the entire structure of your four pillars and the way you were brought up. It's like if your chart indicates you have the talent to become a painter but if you were never given a brush when you were a kid, then you'll never become a rich and famous painter.

Hi, Unfortunately, the romance star is not necessary present in all Pillars Chart. It is not determined by the birth element unlike the wealth deity. Thus, I cannot tell you want is the reomance element until the chart is drawn up. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Lay Eng, 1. Generally, Yin and Yang are at the pinnacle of many (or all) Chinese beliefs/Feng Shui and divinity methods. 2. If we consider a pyramid, it is at the tip of the pyramid. 3. Yin and Yang concepts are thus the most general and in terms of Ba Zi/8 Characters Destiny very difficult to implement. 4. The best way to utilise Pillars of Destiny / Ba Zi is to `go down' to the " lowest " common denominator i.e. The Five Elements Concept. 5. In the Pillars of Destiny, for example, such as the available report at www.geomancy-online.com it breaks down the number / counts of a person's element. A balanced Pillars of Destiny would normally be e.g. 25 perce…

Hi, Only just had time to properly answer your question now. Sorry for the delay. 2. Gui is the wealth element to this DM, combine away this wealth element, is it a loss of wealth for this DM in 2007 ? In 2007, although the Major Luck decade combines with the Gui Wealth, it will not transform. This is due to another aspect which is not clear in modern times. Basically, some older texts make mention that for one to transform into something else, it must be weak in order for it to change. Whether or not this applies in this case or not, I can tell you that it won't necessarily matter. Here's why: In 2007, the Water (Wealth in the Branch) combines with the Month and tran…

Dear Anon, Firstly, don't get confused. 1. Gua or Kua number is soley based on one's Year of birth. 2. A proper ba zi chart or the free chart provided on this website takes into account one's Year, Month, Day and if one know's one's hour of birth, ba zi is an interaction of all these variables: heavenly stems and earthly branches to find out our element and strength. 2. Furthermore, Gua is soley based on the Eight House or Ba Chai compass school and is one one of the methods used to assess a direction that is or is not suitable to us. 3. I am not going to go into details as all the available information can easily be found on any of these topics: Compass School: Eig…

Hi, Basically, the reason why we give 12 periods instead of the usually 8 period is to give a comprehensive overview of your life. From that you can see how your chart whether you are person who has very good luck all the time (ie a person born with a silver spoon or one that has a hard life). Usually, the person who has good luck most of his life (which he can enjoy), ie from child birth to old age. Such a person tends to have a more fortunate life than another who has only say 60-80 year of age before he or she enjoys good luck. A person's luck is affected by the influences that affect his or her luck. ie every 10-year / 5-year / year a person's luck change, so if you c…

Dear Anon, For your home, in general the binding elements are:- 1. Wood (Green or brown or wood furniture). 2. Fire (Red, pink or purple). Under the Five Elements concept, the above is used therefore to help "bind" a couple. Strong water vs strong water is not so bad as:- Strong metal person with a strong water person. Here, often, a strong metal person could add "greater" stress to a strong water person. However, even in such a combination; this relationship is beneficial to a Strong metal person. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. In the Chinese culture, one of the ways to seek a "balance" of the Five elements is by many Chinese to seek a name; after their five elements chart has been reviewed. 2. For example, many Chinese parents or even grand father would go to a Geomancer to select a good name for their child. The geomancer will draw up a chart of the child and check to see which elements are too much or too little:- see attachment: FIVE-ELEMENTS-BREAKDOWN.JPG 3. In this example, this child has too much earth = 86 percent and little or no fire element. The child is also lacking elements like water and fire. 4. As each Chinese character can be broken down into one of the five elements…
