Dear Rafael, The Reverse Mountain and Water is inauspicious unless there is a `mountain' at the frontage and a water position at the back. Often, we may not have a control over the frontage. But if we do, and if there is a hill or object 1 storey (level) high, then, this can be considered as the mountain. And a water position can thus be activated at the back. Otherwise, if you still can, check to see if Period 8 is better. If so, one resort is to change the home to a Period 8 home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cecil, I'd like to ask you the method to find mountain star. How do I determine that there is a mountain star at specific sector of the home? As for the birthdate of the house, which one is used: completion date or construction date (the day that the earth was first disturbed or dug)? Thanks in advance. Regards, Wasis

Dear Fran, 1. For a home, often, if things are not too good, there is a good chance that the Shapes and Forms of the home (either external and interior may have problems). Often, some of the external issues include: wrong placement of water positions etc... 2. Under Compass School of Feng Shui, if one had already stayed in a home; often, what we (practitioners) do is to draw several Flying Star charts to look at the home to see if it `matches' the problems that has been faced inside a home. 3. Thus instead of trying to figure whether the home belongs to period `X' or `Y'; the most practical approach is to try to do a chart of the current period, first e.g. Period 7, since…

Dear Jennifer, 1. It is not as simple as you sound. 2. This is because the Luo Shu grid is based on a formula complete for a period. 3. Look at it this way: 3.1 Is it possible for a Skoda or a Lada (Russian made vehicle) to be sliced partially and a chunk of it replaced with part of a mercedes benz. 3.2 Does the above sound logical? If not, then; This has to be evaluated based on the principles of 20 Year Flying Star's ruleset. Please refer to my above part of message. Frankly, Jennifer, (no offence) this has to be one of the "worst" illogical messages that I had seen replied to. In such a case, it is better to close one's eyes and pretend that we are living in …

Dear Sarah, 1. In the Far East (Asia), rattan or bamboo furniture were particularly popular in the 1970's. Especially with the cheap labour and raw materials. All that is needed is to sew cushions and presto! Many homes have them. 2. In recent years especially in 1990's till today, because labour costs had risen, many have opted for other various combinations of steel/wood ; wood / cushions etc.. as they can be manufactured cheaply. The slightly more expensive go for half-cow leather etc... 3. In my opinion, I do not think so that your bamboo furniture can be considered as dead wood. 4. The only basis of calling `dead wood' is if one keeps too many `antique' furniture. Th…

Dear Anon, In Feng Shui, if one literally lifts off the roof; this is symbolic of a `major' renovation and qualifies for a change of period. Symbollically, it implies that if one repaints the entire ceiling of the house at one go, this should change to period 8. In my opinion, rebuilding your kitchen especially removing the stove and refitting the kitchen can qualify for a change to period 8. But often, the influence would come not immediately but say, 8 or 9 months after the renovation. For renovating your kitchen: 1. Please be careful NOT to renovate at compass direction 210 degrees this year. - South South-West (Location of Grand Duke of Jupiter). Else this brings seve…

Dear Alvin, In my opinion, Tai Sui or Grand Duke location is at South South West or 210 degrees this year. (And not exactly at true West i.e. 270 degress.) If you have a compass, do check whether the direction is 210? If not, then no issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, It is best to scan the entire home to check on: 1. White If the walls are white in colour (white represents metal) no additional cure is needed. 2. Water element If there are water positions at a specific sector. Or if there are relatively large amounts of blue, black or grey at a sector that has particulary lots of #3 or #4 (bad wood) Or where the year has bad #3 or #4; since water helps wood, it is best to see if we can avoid adding water element here. If there is too much `water' element here, then, additional cure should be used to control the bad wood #3 or #4 or multiples of it. 3. Wood element At a location that has bad #3 and #4. In addition to water, …

Dear Cecil, Can you please help me with this problem. Our building was built in 1961 then a new floor was added to the building in 1984 which I assume it changed the birth of the building to period 7. One of the apartments has been up for rent for the past two years with no luck. Its a beautiful apartment and people loves it when they see it but never come back again. The apartment faces 200- 202.5. My question is, if no one is living in the apartment, would enhances cures needed? How can feng shui help in this matter. Thank you and have a nice day, Luna

Dear All, 1. Attached please find another sample of the pie-chart method. 2. Under this example, one can clearly see each sector is `labelled' showing the sector of influence. 3. Overall, I personally prefer to apply the `pie-chart' method over the 9-grid method. 4. For example, one can even prepare a pie-chart frame and print it on a transparency. And this transparency can be placed on-top of say an A4 sized layout plan. - Very effective! Warmest Regards, Cecil

I am a strong water person with 0 Metal in my Five elements table. Based on the flying star report the romance sector, which happens to be my room, SW, 2 Water Star, 9 Mountain Star and 4 Base Star have "Problems with romance". I thought this area would be OK because there is the combination of Earth - Fire - Wood and the 3 elements would create balance, but my personal life is corroborating there is trouble. What is wrong? Could it be fixed? Thank you in advance.

Dear Ling Tien, Thank you for attaching your layout plan. Within Flying Star Feng Shui, there are indeed many schools. Ultimately, when we super-impose the luo shu grid either the pie chart or the 9 grid, it should match the compass directions. Therefore, in all authentic schools, the centrepoint is determined. For a relatively small place like a house of 1,200 sq ft or even a house of 5,000 sq ft, usually, the centrepoint or centre of gravity is found. Here, the luo shu grid is laid on the layout plan. Actually, if we use the Flying Star (Xuan Kong Feng Shui), if the house was born in period 7, most likely even if the main door has been interpreted diferently, the char…

Hi Cecil, If sector at the main door having Based 9(Fire), Mountain Star 3(Wood), Water Star 7(Metal) and yearly star 9(Fire), can one place a water position? If a sector(main door, living room) is suitable for water position and he/she is the breadwinner with Strong Metal(and no Water element at all), is it OK to proceed with the water placement even if one or more of the family members has either Weak Fire or Strong Water? Thanks.

dear Cecil, i searched through your website for more detailed information on mountain and water stars but i'm still confused. could you please explain further on how do i determine if these stars are present in the different locations of the grid based on the flying stars readings, or could you please direct me to the site where i can learn more about mountain and water stars? based on the flying star report, by next month, our flat will be having 3 SAME NUMBERS for base, mountain & water stars on each location (e.g., S will have all 2, E - 5, N - 2, W - 8, etc.). I understand that multiple 2s, 3s, 4s & 5s are very inauspicious and need to be cured by 6 metal coin…

If a palace has the following reading 7-3-7, the base number is 3 and in period 7 isn't it a 'dead chi'? Will the 7-7 combo make this location good? There is a stove at this location and it is impossible to move it elswhere, is there any recomendation that can control or at least limit the fire burning the metal effect? Please advice.

Dear Anon, Please see below:- 1.In Group Both the main door For main door, will it Overall, the analysis is based on the Eight House Theory. And for sectors of the birth chart of the house are out of balance under the Flying Star, this should best be neutralised as soon as possible. There is a contradiction in Feng Shui principles. Here, it is best that the master of the house (where possible) should best occupy the master bedroom. You may have to do with exisiting situation. 2.For another Sorry, perhaps you can further elaborate your question. It is also good to look at the Flying Star chart of your house for Period 8. To see if it is significantly be…

Dear Anon, 1. Thank you for bring up this interesting question. 2. It depends on the type of house being built. 3. In Singapore, there are public housing. And some public housing:- 3.1 Usually, these flats come empty i.e. only with furnished toilet(s) and white washed ceiling and walls. Otherwise, the house is given to the owners for them to complete the renovation of the floor tiles for both living/dining/kitchen and bedrooms. These flats do come with completed tiles for the kitchen. But no built in cabinet or stove or frige etc... In such a situation, if the owner only take over the flat after Chinese New Year 2004 and does renovation after this period, then, one can co…

Dear Anon, 1. In general, many Feng Shui practitioners or those who know about Feng Shui, tend to avoid having a sink facing or opposite the stove. This is due to water and fire clashing together. 2. If one has such a situation, one may apply the productive cycle under the Five elements concept by the introduction of wood element. 3. Here, fire -> (adding wood) -> water will form a three element combination flow. 4. In my opinion, it is still acceptable if the kitchen is located the South - fire element(compass direction - area) of the house. 5. One of the worst directions to have a sink opposite the stove is at the North (compass direction of the house). Here, it i…

The little I studied about Feng Shui, I understood that there are both universal principals, based on natures influence that affect all individuals in same manner, and relative principals that apply to human beings according to their personal elements, or astrological characteristics. Therefore, an application of Feng Shui may vary according to the person or family who dwells in the house or building. But if we abide by the basic principles of ?good? Feng Shui both to land and house, such as shape of plot, main doors, inclination of land, positive location, absence of negative nearby influences, appropriate Tong Wan, and correct location of rooms, kitchen, bathroom, etc?,…

Dear Mr Cecil Lee Thank you so much for all your generous advice. I am still unable to upload my attachment. It is just a simple sketch showing my drain water flowing from the back to the front part of my house which pass by my main door from right to left and exit at the extreme left end. We have been pondering to engage feng shui master to audit our house. However, we could not afford one at this moment due to our financial difficulties. We will definitely contact you when times are better. Anyway, we are very grateful to all your advice. You certainly have great and good karma for being able to share so much with everyone. Best of luck! Regards Guek Rian

Dear Anon, Although you cannot control the road construction, since south does have so many sickness numbers, it is best to quickly neutralise this. With multiple #2's, cure it with 6 coins at the South side. Optional: You can also place the 6 coins into a glass bottle and add two spoonfuls of salt to plain water. Stir it before placing the 6 coins into the bottle with a open top. This can be placed on South side. (make sure that preferably, this is the window area). Else, just hang 6 coins. Warmest Regards, Cecil
