Dear Anon, 1. Please take note that, one of the main considerations in using a "window" to `replace' the main door is that light should be `brighter' coming from the window than say from the main door. This is where, it could be a likely candidate for the replacing the main door. 2. It is equally important that unlike an alternative door, where the house number can be affixed on it e.g. above that door or on the door itself. For a window spanning 6 or more feet, where than can be place the signage for the door? Is it at the centrepoint of the window or we`purposely' find like what you have mentioned the double 7 stars (provided, it exists around the sector). 3. Frankly, t…

Dear Anon, Generally with that combination of star, it should be no problem to place a fish tank there. Assuming everything else is ok. Just try to make use of the number of fish so that it forms certain element which is favourable for the breadwinner at least. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Sharon, "Feng Shui" which relates to fixed templates e.g. Eight Associations or Life Aspirations are too general to be practised. Worse still if it is based on Black Hat Sect or BTB for short. `Fixed' template practises give a `bad' name to Feng Shui. More often, it gives false hope and will not work for most people. It is recommended not to practise this form of Feng Shui. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to call it "kindergarten" Feng to better reflect the status of it. If you have the time, do spent time browsing the conferences or search for a message. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, This is an interesting question. If the space is not available or is a missing corner, one cannot or infact does not have an opportunity to place say a `cure' at this non-existing location. It is again, not possible to do remote control Feng Shui where placement of the `cure' at a nearby location `would' solve it. The `nearby' location has its own Feng Shui influence and it would not be wise to use a cure for a different location. However, if the missing corner is `restored' or modifications is made to the house or an extension, then the Flying Star, depending on the renovation work day, may changed to the new period. For example, if the last major reno was d…

Dear Anon, There are many debates over this issue. It is stated that usually the reigning period will control the stars, this means that star 5 in period 5 would be good. However, in some debate, it is stated that for period 5 which is a center Gua or not one of the eight directions it should be replaced by another trigram of from one of the official Eight Trigrams. In another debate, a proposed solution by using the I-Ching was recommended. So far as you can tell this is all yet to be proven so well, we have to take the traditional, that the period 5 should be represented by one of the Eight Trigram rather than 5 itself. Anyway, we will not encounter that for a long time…

Dear Jojo, You should not activate or solve the #5 simply because it falls in that sector by using a wind chime. You have to look at the overall interaction of the #5 in relation to the 20-year sector. Usually, if you have cured or solve any problems with the 20-year itself, it should be quite safe for you, as they additional yearly star should not cause that much of a problem. However, yearly star should still be look at. For monthly stars, it is even less important, unless you always have the time and ability to keep track of the stars changing every month. But personally it is a little too over zealous to keep making changes each month. Usually, you will fix the 20-yea…

Dear Tam, Please read below:- Most important is to cure problem areas, and leave the rest as it is so as not to complicate the matters. In Feng Shui, when you try to solve or cure a minor problem, it is as good as trying to enhance a good sector. When all the major problems are solved, you will already enhance your good influences. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Elena, Sorry for the delay in response. The Flying Star Theory is quite similar with the Eight House in it's application. Both provides sector by sector analysis. If one sector has the Romance Luck, it does not mean that the entire house is `filled' with "romance". The influence is only at that sector. For the main door, if one has Double 7's it means that in general the house is an auspicious house. The main door is considered a vital analysis. Otherwise, if the Romance, is at the main bedroom this is good. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Sorry, My fault, The extension is a totally different building. The following is VERY rough, but it will give you a picture: ..___ ./.../ /__/ .|| /..\ \../ .\/ The first house, the diamond shaped one (at the top of this page) is one storey, the second section (at the bottom) is two. North is at the bottom of the page in roughly this direction: \ .\ ...\

Dear Cecil I read that activating the wealth stars # 7 , 8 and 9 with moving water is good. So I installed a small waterfall in my 3 7 (base) 9 sector in the patio and since then- only 2 days later. have become sick with stomach problems. Is this why ? The sector is NW with yearly star 2. I am weak earth element. Should I instead activate my 488 sector with yearly star 3. I did not know that water could affect you if it was outside the house. Thanks in advance for your reply. Jojo

Dear Elena, You brought up an interesting question. 1. Usually, one major influence is also the exterior of the house. 2. A major renovation does change the birth chart of the house. 3. In order to change the birth chart of the house, one has to understand that it has to be an `old' house. For example, Period 7 is between Chinese New Year 1984 to 2003. If the house was built in 1995. No matter how ones change i.e. a major renovation, it is not going to help as it will still remain a Period 7 house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear David, Please see below:- Glad you find this site useful. Feng Shui is all about balance. When an "anomaly" or an imbalance has been detected, one important thing to remember is that one must use the right `cure' for the right situation. Here, it is best to `convert' the numbers to their element and its strength. You need to relate it to the Five Element. For example, No. 2 signifies " Strong Earth ". Under the Five Element Concept, you then need to control this element. The clue here is " Earth " and " Strong ". 1. Look for yourself, the Destructive Cycle under the Five Elements Ref: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/5element.htm Here, you will notice that Meta…

If you re-read my reply to you Joe, you will see that I have mentioned how to activate the mountain stars. The water or wealth stars are #7 for this current period, then # 8 and # 9. Again, like the mountain they must fit certain criteria. Ideally, a Water star should be where there is activity - preferably in an entry, near a window. No good if the star is locked away in a bedroom or some quiet area. Activating a water star depends on the other elements that go to make up the stars in the particular sector.Your own personal element and its strength or weakness must also be considered when activating stars. Cecil or Robert will comment on the Report question you have. Gly…

Dear Toni, 1. As you are aware, the key `ingredient' to Flying Star analysis is to determine the exact compass degree of the front door. This is the traditional way to do Feng Shui not only from this site but any other sites practising traditional Feng Shui. 2. I have mentioned in a few earlier emails that for those who are more `creative' can if they want to find the frontage of their house and from here need not necessary use the `door' at this location but even windows. Or if they feel differently about which ever main door they think can be used. This is usually where "most light comes" into the home. 3. There are some who like to impress their clients, can use such m…

Dear Ng, Please read below:- Hi Robert, Thanks for your reply. My personal element is earth, not too sure whether is weak or strong. Date of birth : 25-Nov 1970 @ Singapore. Any different whether I'm a weak or strong earth person? In fact, I do have a fish Yes, there is a difference. A) weak earth for example favours Fire and dislike Wood. B) strong earth for example favours Metal and dislike Fire. This also means that the luck period for the year also varies due to the difference. Also, many other analysis will differ as the favourable and unfavourable elements are totally different. For example a weak wood is like a small tree, easily broken so need constant ass…

Dear Chris, It is for this case that the House Number module was developed by Feng Shui masters to tackle modern problems relating to flats. The reason is because one should not change the house direction whether sitting or facing. Essentially, the whole block face is facing that particular direction. That is why, if the Flying Star of a particular layout in a flat or apartment is good or bad, it does not mean that everyone of the same block will share the same luck. Because different house numbering will determine the luck of the unit based on Flying Star house numbering. In addition, whether it is good or bad depends on the Pillars (true element and strength) of an ind…

Dear Elena, Please read below:- Every year the yearly flying star will change. However, the base 20-year flying star should still remain the same. What happens when you get such a situation. This means that for the SE sector, where the yearly 7 comes into 20-year 7 base star, that is the most auspicious of the 20-year year combination. This also means that for the North Sector, where the yearly 5 comes into 20-year 5 base star, that is the worst year for the entire 20-year year. In order to see what you should do for solving the sector, what is also required is the mountain and water star of the 20-year chart. Yes, it is correct to say that double 5 use metal, howeve…

Dear Chris, Under the `simplified' timing, you will find that Singapore, Hong Kong are in the same time zone as Beijing, the capital of China at +0800 GMT. Even in the past, even at most there is not more than 1/2 an hour difference in time adjustments. Therefore, when you check for time, for Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing are exactly the same time zone. For predicting auspicious situations, what is most important is to find an auspicious date (DAY) which gives a 24 hour leeway. For hourly predictions, it still gives a two hourly leeway based on Chinese hour. Even if one considers analysis using Pillars of Destiny, the hour of birth can even be omitted or ignored and …

Dear Tam, From what I can understand from what you wrote, essentially, what you describe is the Flying Star by taking the Frontage of the house or building rather than based on the main door. This is often considered the `macro' version of the Flying Star Theory where it is often used to analysing a big plot of land e.g. bungalow house or large building where the exterior of the building can also be analysed by the Flying Star i.e. the stars of that direction can be extended out to that direction. You can say that most of the books or the few english books out there are meant more for urban locations where space is limited or where we are analysing a single unit/apartment…

Dear Fraser, Please read below:- Glad that you enjoyed the forum. No, Chor Sin or more properly called Zhou Xing - " Sitting Location " is opposite because it is always opposite the facing direction or Xiang Xing - " Facing Location " of the house or where your main entrance door is. In general, the backdoor is not taken into consideration when one is doing a Flying Star. It should be the main entrance door or the door which has the house number. If say, one has a backdoor or another door, one can do a Flying Star chart to find out or select which door is better of the two. Especially if the original main door is not so good. The colours is actually consider…

Dear Tam, Apologise for the delay, as we did miss posting this message. Yes, that is correct if you use the 9 Square grid method. However, the more accurate way is to use the 8 Pie method. If you have done the latest Eight House Report, I have added a graphic which has divided the sector equally using a Circle. You can then superimpose that circle onto your home to accurately determine the exact source of influence. As in actual fact, it is not a square sector that gets the influence, but the angle which falls like a fan from lesser at the center to a wider range at the outside of the house. Similarly for the Flying Star, make use of the 9 pie (8 pie and a circul…

Under the Flying Star theory, it is considered very auspicious if one has a double 7 under this period where it is also the period 7. In period 8 which starts in the Chinese new year in 2004, a new house/construction that has double 8's If one is new to the Flying Star, it looks like this:- 7 7 B --- Base star If the main door has double 7's above it, this is considered an extremely auspicious number. In addition, it can be even more auspicious depending on whether the base star `assists' the two stars above. Warmest Regards, Cecil
