1. We human beings have our birthday (Date and time of birth). 2. Similarly, a home also has it's birthday. Flying star Feng Shui is about the "birthchart" of a home. 3. In general, the home is considered as the environment we live in. 4. Thus, it is always good to first plot the chart of the home's birth chart e.g. use Flying Star Feng Shui, first. 5. Next, we then apply the Eight House (East/West group). Applying this concept should be considered as "NICE-TO-HAVE" and not a "MUST-HAVE". 5.1. For example, even under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, often even for a bedroom, there are limited ways to place a bed. As there is the bedroom door, often, the attached bathroom…

Dear Will Chang, Will Chang wrote: Dear Cecil, My question is kind of silly, however I'd appreciate if you could clarify my doubt. My house has narrow frontage and long length (8mx25m), runs East (facing) to West (sitting) exactly. I am trying to apply flying star method to the house floor plan, however big sectors such as East and West sectors dominate more than 60% of the house, while smaller ones such as North and South take less than 10% of the space. Eight mansion method divides the house into 9 rectangular sectors (# shape), while Flying Star method uses 8 sectors shaped like a gua (* shape). Which method is more appropriate for my house? Actually, professionally t…

Dear Asher, Anonymous wrote: My husband and I belong to the East Group but I read that the North-East and South-West facing houses are very good in the Period 8. In this case, should we look for a house based on the Eight Mansions or can we choose one that faces the North-East or South-West too? Thanks! Ideally, it would be good to have both the Flying Star Feng Shui (ie North-East/South-West) and your Eight House suitable ie (Prosperity, Excellent etc). However, for most people sometimes the flying star feng shui may be good but it does not suit them ie (death or disaster), then looking for a more suitable home with less flying star feng shui would be better. The reas…

Dear Anon, 1. Please take note that, one of the main considerations in using a "window" to `replace' the main door is that light should be `brighter' coming from the window than say from the main door. This is where, it could be a likely candidate for the replacing the main door. 2. It is equally important that unlike an alternative door, where the house number can be affixed on it e.g. above that door or on the door itself. For a window spanning 6 or more feet, where than can be place the signage for the door? Is it at the centrepoint of the window or we`purposely' find like what you have mentioned the double 7 stars (provided, it exists around the sector). 3. Frankly, t…

Dear Tiong Tuan, ong tiong tuan wrote: If i m not gg to do any major renovation,it will still be under period 7.So is period 7 flying star chartstill applicable? If no, what shd i do? Generally, if you bought a period 7 house and do not do any major renovation, it is likely that the house will retain the period 7 house luck unless the previous owner have flown it over to new period. So sometimes this can be hard to say for sure. Of course, if not sure the best way is to always check if the current house luck suits the house or not. If it does, best to try to fly the house luck over to the new period. This will often eliminate any doubts you may have. ong tiong tuan wrot…

If you re-read my reply to you Joe, you will see that I have mentioned how to activate the mountain stars. The water or wealth stars are #7 for this current period, then # 8 and # 9. Again, like the mountain they must fit certain criteria. Ideally, a Water star should be where there is activity - preferably in an entry, near a window. No good if the star is locked away in a bedroom or some quiet area. Activating a water star depends on the other elements that go to make up the stars in the particular sector.Your own personal element and its strength or weakness must also be considered when activating stars. Cecil or Robert will comment on the Report question you have. Gly…

We know, everyone is so eager to jump in and practise Feng Shui. In particular, you must likely have generated a Flying star chart from somewhere. Honestly, for any new thing or subject.. you really have to "study" and understand them. Frankly, it is so easy to post a few lines to text.. but this Flying star thing, or knowledge does not and cannot drop down from the sky. If you intend to DIY, you really need to go learn it. or read up about it.. and this may take time. Reading is one thing, but understanding and applying it... is really another. Please note that this forum is only a catalyst and not a we do it for you nor spoon feeding .... Just imagine.. for a baby, h…

Further to what I had mentioned:- 1. Most consensus (amongst) geomancers is to locate the most "yang" (bright) qi area of the home. Where e.g. it could be the most openings be it the windows or balcony doors. 2. For high floors (storeys);IN GENERAL themost likely facing direction is the "stack"where the unit (especially the living room balcony faces); Especially if one does not often open the main entrance door. And in many instances; many condos- during daylight withoutthe aid of lighting is often quite "dim". 3. Therefore, it does not matter if you have a penthouse or not. Just imagine; a landed property. I am sure, (else my head gets the chopping); there are defiinite…

1. Frankly, you have to ask yourself: How many bedrooms have you or have left? That you can accomodate your kid? 2. Or if you have a study and could change or swop the study to this room. 3. To minimize any issues; some prevention; try to avoid warm white lights in the bedroom and if possible avoid yellow curtains or bedsheets. 4. However, some ask: If I can't use bright yellow, then how? 4.1 So long as e.g. the bedsheet has all the primary colours: GREEN, BLUE (or BLACK), RED and YELLOW; 4.2 then if all these elements are present then just avoid the ceiling lights or lights within that bedroom in "warm white". 4.3 Thus use cool day lights in that room. The above is ju…

Will there be bad inauspicious to their house or to the family. What will be the cause and if there is an inauspicious, what are the remedies. Ideally, mountain should be behind and frontage should be open. However, it does not mean that just because the house faces the mountain it is inauspicious. Really depends on the house, how high or steep is the mountain. How is the surrounding etc. It does not automatically mean it is not good. Really depends even more on the surrounding houses around it. Hope tha…

Dear Helen, 1. From your email address, I noticed that you are from Singapore. You should not have a problem finding a Feng Shui practitioner in Singapore. However, I understand that some FS practitioners in Singapore practise Shapes and Form plus the Eight House only. 2. Ideally, you should get a Feng Shui practitioner where possible skilled in at least the three key areas: 2.1 Shapes and Form 2.2 Eight House 2.3 Flying Star Para 2.1 is important as Feng Shui audit cannot be done in isolation. This is where some FS practitioners simply go into e.g. Flying Star and `nothing else'. If you have noticed there are many `live' examples of users here who, may have Shapes and Fo…

Further to what I had mentioned; the key thing is (within one's control) AVOID: any disturbance at East is the safest bet to ride over the "EAST sector during 2011". Thus norenovations: including drilling, hacking ofwalls andre-painting at East.

These are some of the considerations: 1. Yes, most Geomancers would have to agree that the refigeration is considered as the metal element. The rationale is that it is always "closed" most of the time. And in such a state; it is usually a boxed up "metallic" item. So far, no one has yet to leave the fridge door open all the time unless .... 2. Nowadays, there are designer fridge that uses tempered glass. In theory, glass especially tempered glass = metal element. 3. Thus, the bigger the fridge e.g. two huge doors; considered more the metal element especially in the kitchen. 4. Based on logic your statement is acceptable.

1. This Chinese New Year's (CNY's) Flying Stars of 2015 shows the dreaded #3 = Quarrels, conflicts and legal entanglements in the center-of the home or premises. 2. For Homes with open spaces at the centrepoint of the home; may expect more conflicts and relationship issues. 3. For Small and Medium priced enterprises; do expect some production issues and/or product rejections and at the same time : turnover and greater relationship/conflicts at work-place. 4. In 2015 also, the #5 misfortune / sickness star is located at the West. And more cause and concern for places or locations that has their frontage and /or openings at West (sector). 5. If the premises has a North fron…

Dear Cecil, I had read many Feng Shui books, all writers say that all houses facing either North East or South West are the best houses if they are Period 8 houses. See below examples : Facing direction Special Flying Star chart SW1Sum to Ten SW2 Or 3 Parent String NE 1 Sum to Ten NE2 Or 3 Parent String Questions: 1.The house ownerdoes not need to do anything, the house is automatically good because it is either "Sum to Ten" or "Parent String" house. Is it true ? Any activation is needed ? 2. If the house is "Parent String" house, the Palaces where stars, 2, 5and 8 are there, the Qi in the Palace is not balanced because all stars are Earth elements.Do the owner n…

Dear Chris, Apologise for the late reply. Was checking through the forum and found these unanswered. That section of the Flying Star is pretty complex because each of the month, day, hour has different condition it must fulfill. Such as which month in which they fall under. And if you are doing the analysis for the male or female personal flying star, the gender say male goes in ascending order and female in descending order. There are also one set of calculation based on Xia, and another for the lunar. So each has a slightly different for determinining the month, day, hour, minute and second. Normally, very few use this for house, as they normally go until month sho…

1. Realistically, one of the key ideas of the Eight House or East/West Group is howsuitable the home is to the breadwinner. 2. Once you have purchased such a home, you asked a question:- "how is it possible to have my main door to face East?" You already know the answer. Not possible! It is not you can get the earthquake to shift your "west" facing home to a east facing home! For example, if you have a family of 8! You cannot be expected to purchase a saloon car that sits 4 + 1 the most! Unless you are going to tie some family members on the bonnet; leave two family members in the trunk! For goodness sake, if you have a family of 8! and need a ride! GET a large MPV! …
