4 Good-Bad Directions/Eight House Suitability (Zai Yun)

Learn whether a house is suitable to you or not

  1. A house must be suitable to the breadwinner of the family (the one earning most for the family). ie. Say if the Main Door of the house is East, and East for the Breadwinner is Excellent, then this house is suitable for the breadwinner. Thus, you will be able to gain a significant earth luck from staying in a suitable house. ie. Say if the Main Door of the house is East, and East for the Breadwinner is Death, then this house is most unsuitable for the breadwinner. If you continue to stay in the house, you will face lots of problems in your career etc. Use the Free Eight House Report to determine your Eight House:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h…

Dear Cecil, I understand that kitchen is best located in the 4 bad direction of the patriach's kua number. However since we have a link house and the kitchen is in one of his best direction i.e Fu Wei. My question is how can we practice feng shui in such situation? Is the placement of stove or oven need to be in the 4 bad directions too? Thanks

  6. Started by myfs_80889,

Dear Anon, 1. The 4 good / bad directions or commonly known as Eight House Theory and the Flying Star Feng Shui both belong to the Compass School of Feng Shui. 2. The difference is that the 4 good directions concept is personalised to an individual i.e. good or bad directions. 3. While the Flying Star Feng Shui looks at the birth chart of the house. Here, under the Flying Star chart of a house, if the house as imbalances, these imbalances should be cured or neutralised. And this is distinct from a peron's good or bad direction. For example, a sector can be the `death' sector of a person. And for example, this sector also has bad Flying Stars e.g. #5 misfortune, sickness …

Dear Cecil My gua no is 6 and my wife no is 9, so our good sectors are directly opposite. We are about to move in our new house which I decided to place the main door in the west sector facing NW and our bed in west sector placing NW too as these are good for me. But these sector and direction are bad for her. Kindly advise are they any remedies for her but please dont advise us to sleep separate room. Thanks Alan

Hi Cecil, I happened to come across your tips and guideline on The Plus Equilibrium. Does it apply to HDB units as it seems to place more emphasis on house type. My unit happens to be under the three house unbalance layout. What can be done? Regards, Yumeko

Dear Yang Ming, You can follow the method suggested under this URL:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm Once you had taken the North to South / East to West (basically the four walls) of the house, you can with the use of a protractor; (need to purchase an inexpensive one) and find the direction of the door. Since the deviation is 15 degrees interval, this should be not difficult in a house. Please go thru the attached URL closely. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, If you have the time, do login to the website and go to the conference: " Photo Tours of Interest (with pictures) " and look for Part I, Part II and Part III of the various `models Ba Gua mirror. Alternatively, use the SEARCH feature in this forum to do a quick search instead. In the above resources, I have taken pictures and also mentioned majority types of Ba Gua mirror especially on their use. Most of the Ba Gua's available in the above resources would represent the mainstream of the most recent types of Ba Gua mirrors and their variants. If you have a picture, feel free to post it as an attachment to this forum. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Steven, 1. I am indeed sad to hear about your problems. Glad that your are progressively recovering. 2. Robert and myself, will pray for you and your family. 3. The Feng Shui we practise here may need some patience and if you have the time; can go thru some of the messages. 4. To help you further, if you know to take compass readings of the centre-point to the main door, we would be most happy to provide you with Free Paid Professional Reports for you and your family. 5. However, as mentioned earlier, since we are not physically present at your home to do an audit, you may have to try to understand key concepts and especially the advise later in the various reports…

Dear Stanley, 1. You have asked a very interesting question. In the past, I have mentioned that both `parties' are correct. Only the way it is interpreted. Please see below:- 2. I can certainly confirm that a `Sun' type of house has it's facing at the South-East. In fact, there is nothing wrong with both interpretations i.e. at this site and in Lillian Too's book. The description used here is based on a person using an ordinary compass (North-South compass). While what Lillian Too described is based on the `original' South-North model i.e. usually based on the Luopan. 3. Therefore, I feel that neither parties are wrong in this situation. 3. What is more important here is…

Dear Anon, Under the Eight House Theory, one concept is that one should spent time at one's favourable sector. The other concept is that priority should be given to firstly spending time at a good sector and after this is satisfied; then one should consider i.e. sleeping facing a good direction. If there is not much choice; you may have to sleep on the East. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Eoin, 1. Although some FS books e.g. author Evelyn Lip had mentioned, certain directions associated with certain occupations. 2. In others, for example, since metal (metal coins) are associated with banking, it was said that Banking outlets should face the `Metal' direction e.g. West or NW. 3. Again, it is said that since South represents `Fire'; business associated with Marketing / Sales should face this direction. 4. In real life, I believe it would be naive to simply look at the `best position' or rather best direction of the front door and associate it with any business. 5. Rather, the front door, should be looked at in relation to the whole business premises. 6.…

Annette, 1. Thanks for sharing with all of us your personal experience with `shattered glass'. 2. Apologise if this information, I about to mention may not appeal to everyone.. Since, it relates to an experience with `shattered glass'... Here goes... 3. In Yin Feng Shui (or FS for the dead); it is very unlucky to have glass smashed towards the face of the dead. This may cause unfortunate accidents or bad luck for the relatives (immediate family). 4. Many coffins today have a glass panel so that loved ones/relatives or friends can view the dead prior to the burial. Sometimes, the glass panel was not removed or part of the casket and during transport to burial site or bur…

Hi Everyone, I was a skeptic at first, until I had a nasty brush with my worst direction. I slept in my worst direction and had a nightmare in which I tried to wake up from with great difficulty. In that nightmare, I saw a being who wanted to hurt me. After waking up from that, I paid close attention to my sleeping directions and have since enjoyed a great improvement in my well being and finances. I hope I didn't scare anybody, so if I did, I'm sorry.

  20. Dear Aj, 1. We should try to fit into the environment rather than letting the environment "fit into us." 2. Feng Shui is also about the `commonsense' approach i.e. placement of furniture should be logically feasible. 3. Shapes and Form FS is strongly based on `commonsense'. 4. The Eight House is just but one of the many concepts / theories behind FS. 5. By getting say, full marks for Eight House does not necesssary ensure that we can increase our `Earth Luck'. 6. When we look at each FS theory or concept, we should try to understand: 6.1 Its purpose and objective of its use. 6.2 Its strength and weakness 7. Under the Eight House Theory, we should not only be looking at t…

Dear Luigi, Let me share my personal experience with "The Eight House Theory" 1. In the past, and even now, it is very tempting for many people in the West to Apply " Feng Shui " methods such as `fixed templates ' such as those of the Black Hat Sect. 2. Such " marketing ploys " are so easy to relate to and Applied. 3. In Traditional Feng Shui, or for Traditional Feng Shui to be "equally successful" it has also to be able to be Applied with ease. 4. To `counter' the explosion of `fixed template' " FS ", the two most successful Traditional FS models can give such `fixed templates' a "hard fight": 4.1 Shapes and Form Feng Shui 4.1.1 This form of FS, if illustrated very well …

Dear Luigi Pasini, Basically you should use the true elements form the Pillars of Destiny. This means your girlfriend is a Fire. The Gua Number should be used as a form of luck number or more for your good and bad directions for bed position, work position, and for bedrooms and finding a "suitable" house for you etc. Hope that helps.
