Dear Chris, Please see below:- -----Original Message----- No, there is no one-for-all solution to counteract all kinds of Sha Ch'i. This will depend on how `damaging' the Sha ch'i is. I have covered quite a lot of techniques for couteract Sha Ch'i:- 1. Mild forms that will not affect a close-by neighbour includes:- a. tilting the front door from an inauspicious to an auspicious direction. b. using a specially made semi-circle carpet outside the main entrance. c. Using a convex door (if your Building Management permits). d. If the main entrance has steps, then use semi-circular steps. 2. More offensive forms to counteract Sha Ch'i include:- a. Pakua (some pakua also c…

Dear Chris, Please see below:- -----Original Message----- I like to clarify that you should still hang the ba gua above the main entrance door and at the mid-point. You should be using a ba gua (The first Heaven Sequence one: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/pakua.htm Sorry, I like to clarify what sort of improvement you expect to find as it is meant as a `cure' or neutraliser and other than that, there is not much it can help i.e. in luck or otherwise.

Dear Stephanie, Frankly, there are `limited' Feng Shui theories that can be applied to a dorm room. Other than some of the following:- 1. Ideally, your dorm room should not be situated at the West or have your study desk on the West wall for two reasons:- - If there is no shade for the west wall, the room can be quite hot (Particularly, under a country with hot climate or no airconditioning). - West location under the bagua is considered a Yin location more for sleeping. If you do not need to study late in the evening in this room, this is acceptable. 2. Under Feng Shui, books act like `cutting' knives or blades so best is not to have books facing your body or face both…

Dear Karen, As a bathroom is a YIN location, the advise is that if the toilet is situated at an unfavourable location e.g. North-East, South-West (health problems), Centre of the house (wealth drained away) and next to the main entrance door (bad ch'i), it would be advisable to balance this " YIN " with YANG. To create a more `yang' environment in the bathroom (toilet) in a few ways such as keeping the toilet `bright'. Normally, blue colour is related to the North and based on the `intuitive' form of Feng Shui based on `feelings' such as the colours you feel you like. However, a neutral colour is white which is bright. As a reference, perhaps, you would like to review thi…

Dear Stephanie, Currently, with the limited information available, it is difficult to ascertain if it is a haunting. 1. Perphaps whether it is possible to find out a little about the history of the room? If it is not the room but the land the dorm was built... any clues available. 2. As you have not mentioned which country her school is, as some Chinese `methods' may not be able to be applied effectively to other religions. If there is indeed a real `haunting' and the location is the Far East, the school usually asks a priest or if it is a Catholic/Christian school a `brother' or a pastor to perform some rites to cleanse the place. This is the most effective method. 3. Al…

Dear Caryn, Please see my comments below:- Lets first look at a few "relationships":- 1. The Five Elements, Numbers and Colours :- (Since I am not using a table, some format could be out so I placed commas between the relationships) Cardinal Point / Five element / Number / Colour North, Water element, 2 or 6, Black East, Wood element, 4 or 8, Green or Brown South, Fire element, 3 or 7, Purple or Red West, Metal element, 1 or 9, White Centre, Earth element, 5 or 10, Yellow This year we get to hear the mysterious word " 5 yellow ". What this simply means is that (from the above) 5 is represented by Yellow or the Earth element. Therefore we call this " 5 yellow " or "…

Hi! My understanding of Fan Tai Shui (Jupiter) is on the year that you were born. Of course we are talking about lunar year. Anyone who is FTS will encounter bad luck for that year. Bad luck means accidents, illness, lawsuit, etc. People in Asia that are FTS go to Tai Shui temples and pray for safe year. I have heard that you could wear a jade with your compatible animal sign. Your compatible animal for horse is the lamb. You could try wearing a jade lamb on your 12th, 24th, 36th, 48th, 60th, 72th, 84th, etc. birth year. Remember that there are also Chung Tai Shui & Ying Tai Shui to deal with. In the year of the horse, the rat, hare, & rooster are also FTS. I hope…

Yes, this should be good as most experts in ch'i power have the same sensations. Perhaps you would like to elaborate more on whether there are any `events' leading to this or you have picked it up `suddenly'. It is still ok, once the Eight House shows that you are actually staying in your "disaster" or "death" house, it is not advisable for you to stay in this house. This…

Dear Glyn, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'feng-shui-tips' suppressed 'feng-shui-tips' suppressed> Date: Thursday, April 01, 1999 3:02 PM Subject: Kua Number This is correct. Eight House Theory only takes into account the Year of Birth. Thus, each year everyone in that year falls under that same kua. Only thing you need to take note is that the Year is based on Luar Year and not Solar Year. So there is a need to know the Lunar Year. It will apply even for years 1900 or 2100 etc. Whether you use method 1 or method 2 calculation, both calculation will give you the same results! However, I personally find method 2 …

Dear Luna, For the six Buddhas, you can place them in a display cabinet. Either the `open' air or enclosed in a glass cabinet. Here are the important points to note:- 1. The wall behind the display cabinet must not be a toilet. 2. The display unit (with the six Buddhas) must not be placed in the bedroom. 3. They must not face a toilet or the kitchen directly. 4. They can face an open window in the living room. They can face the main door or close to the main door. It is acceptable to display `brand new' figurines as they have not absorbed the qi (ch'i) of any previous location. At home, I also do have two antique Buddha figurines. One with a laughing Buddha with many chil…

That is the supposed way to go about finding a good day. I understand, that you have also posted several questions on the Flying Star theory, this topic are all based on advanced concepts and frankly too complexed to be explained in an e-mail or several e-mails therefore, I would not want to confuse the users in the forum. There are several ways you may wan…

Dear Chris Ng, Apologise for the late response. I was going through all the forum message and found this still unanswered. You need to relate the elements and then do a full detailed analysis based on element strengths and the good and bad stars. This is a very complex analysis which has been taken care of in the latest Flying Star report analysis. If the combinations are good, then the sector is good. Otherwise you have to cure them. This has to do with the direction of the door and which sub-sector it falls under. Then taking into account if it is yin or yang and apply it to the stars. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

The purpose is to look at the suitability of the house to the individual and 2. Sleep, work and study.. facing a good direction. This technique takes into account your personal kua (in…

Dear Kenneth, Frankly, there is nothing much you can do to minimise the effects of the sitting position. The only other consideration is to check that:- 1. Your table should be against a wall or partition as a support. 2. The back of your chair should not be against a window. 3. There are no sharp corners or poison arrows pointing towards your seat. 4. Where possible you should feel comfortable with the lighting at your work area. 5. Aovid working close or sit opposite the toilet area or sharing an office wall with the toilet area or a passageway. The above are good Feng Shui practises for the office. Warmest Regards, Cecil -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To…

There is one school of thought i.e. fake plants is symbollically representing a real plant. But betweent the two `evil's ' the fake plan should reduce the problem. Yes. If you are aware, the most common remedy is a false ceiling. This works because remember: "what you can't see, can't hurt you". Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Michelle, Feng Shui although is not a religion has to be understood in a `holistic' way. This encompass two main Schools: 1. The Shapes and Form School and 2. The Compass School. Since you are new to Feng Shui, you can tour the website especially this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/theory.htm or start a tour at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/map.htm and at the same time, you can explore the many tools available at www.geomancy-online.com particulary the Free Eight House Chart. As you are aware Feng Shui cannot be `digested' in a day and you can if you want to, read the various messages in this forum. For selling a house, it may take time and other factors include the p…

Hi Danielle Being Kua 2, the directions you mentioned are the least inauspicious of your directions. The North and East are your death and disaster sectors so make sure the front door and your main bedroom are not here. It of course is always better to have your main door in one of your auspicious sectors. So if you really do not have to move into this place, dont. Look for a residence with a main door in one of your good directions. Glyn

Today, another user also faced the same problem i.e. main door is at SW and an inauspicious intangible force. Currently, I cannot really advise you futher as we are currently working on only the Eight House Theory. Other theories such as the Flying Star (birth ch…

Dear Dion, What is common with the Compass School of Feng Shui i.e. the Eight House and the Flying Star and if we map our Heaven Luck using Pillars of Destiny are that they have to be personalized to an individual. For the Shapes and Form School, it is more generalised Feng Shui. The Eight Aspirations or Life Aspirations is a " free for all ". Anyone can write a book about it and say that the romance corner is at the South West while the Career is in the North. So, you will realise that if you are considering compass directions e.g. North, you should look at it under the Eight House Theory or the Flying Star Theory. Even in the Four Symbolic Animals Principle, it does not…

Dear Chris, Thanks for sharing with us your keen observations. I would like to share with you my comments on the Green Dragon and White Tiger. Most of us have read and heard about the `ill effects' of the White Tiger. Contrary to popular belief that it is a `bad' animal, it is equally considered auspicious animal as it is courageous and even considered a beautiful animal. Here, you will notice it it is really no harm and we do not really need to `tame' the animal or provide a quiet environment. The only situations to watch out are:- 1. In the natural order, the green dragon and tiger is said to embrace each other. This is where the higher green dragon hill embraces the lo…

Dear Chris, Please read below:- Actually, all the calendar are theoritically correct. However, I do find the Lunar Calendar significantly more accurate. And it can be found in almost any calendar (which has western date and chinese date). So it is easier to determine Auspicious Time. Several ways to determine an auspicious time. 1. Check the elements of the month, day, or minute. If it helps your element it is considered auspicious. 2. You can make use of the Flying Star or Xuan Kong Fei Xing to obtain auspicious time. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Hi there Chris Whilst it is not my position to promote Cecil's books, let me say that I have all 3 of them. Over the past two plus years, I have accumulated approx 18 books on FS. Some good, some rubbish. Cecil's books are easy to understand, reasonably priced and his 101 Feng Shui Tips and Fixes is like my "Bible". As a consultant, I refer to it constantly to make sure my clients are getting the correct results. I do take your point though that it is good to browse through books before you buy, a pastime I love to do. However, I have enough faith in Cecil to know that he would produce something of top quality. Cheers Glyn

Dear Marissa, Currently, there is quite alot of talk regarding books written recently by Lillian Too. In the Feng Shui Internet community; particulary the Western Trational Feng Shui Schools mentioned their concern over what she is teaching. If one is new to Feng Shui and having read some of her books, would quickly come to the conclusion that Feng Shui uses `fixed' templates. For example, many people after reading her books thought that all Feng Shui is based on Fixed stations of the Eight Aspirations or Life Aspirations. In my opinion, some Feng Shui authors resort to capitalize on the ' static " Life Aspirations by `declaring' that North is career, South signifies Fame…
