Dear Glyn, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'feng-shui-tips' suppressed 'feng-shui-tips' suppressed> Date: Thursday, April 01, 1999 3:02 PM Subject: Kua Number This is correct. Eight House Theory only takes into account the Year of Birth. Thus, each year everyone in that year falls under that same kua. Only thing you need to take note is that the Year is based on Luar Year and not Solar Year. So there is a need to know the Lunar Year. It will apply even for years 1900 or 2100 etc. Whether you use method 1 or method 2 calculation, both calculation will give you the same results! However, I personally find method 2 …

  3. Apologies that I am still not very sure. So the move from the current washing machine now at the window if we shift to the washing basin area with front load will be better n will not impact the 3 bed layouts? Reply: This is not Feng Shui. Based on pure common sense. As either power or soap is used. If power it can contaminate the bedroom If the washing machine is warm, some soap moisture or white powder can contaminate the bedroom. Common sense. Not everything is Feng Shui, here

Do remember that when one comes across such a description when buying a new or resale home: "Large uncovered drain behind a house" Be prepared to exercise CAUTION when buying such a home. CAUTION? Implies further investigations should be made or contacting a geomancer to review it.

  5. Layout planning of landed properties & common sense: Before signing off the approved plans; always super-impose the layout out plans: 1. Super-impose the 2nd storey layout plan onto the ground floor plan. And check that the 2nd storey toilet(s) are not directly above the ground floor main entrance door. Make sure that the toilet(s) are also not directly above the stove, a guest bed on the ground floor or above an altar. 2. For the 2nd storey, just make sure that the stove is not directly above one's bed which may be directly above the kitchen.

Today, more and more are seeking Feng Shui advice prior to placing a deposit to buy a home. Like I always say, this is a smart move indeed! Indeed, it applies equally to both looking for a new (resale) home and/or finding a new office / business space. Reference: under TOPIC 5/5 of this link:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=12&mid=30814&new= Like this link, it is often a fore-GONE conclusion, once they had taken up the space... Here, in my opinion, even GOD, can't help this business.

Please see illustration showing two common practises or options: 1. Option 1: Many Geomancy Practitioners recommend this method i.e. the placement of a hulu as shown in the attached. 2. Option 2: Practical approach, today. If the kitchen/service yard has a casement window; the window is either fully closed or open-to the max at around 45 degrees or less. 3. Frankly, personally, I am not in favour of installing a roller blind as a partition. As often, it moves when windy and can eventually get dusty. And I would not want to have my face touch such blinds as in time, it will be covered by dirt and even bacterial or germs.

  11. With the exception of kitchen table tops that require the washing machine the be slotted below the kitchen table TOP.

  12. Dear All, 1. Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew has consistently avoided having statues or portraits of himself displayed, despite his remarkable success. 2. In contrast, dictators often promote themselves through grandiose statues and propaganda photos. However, history has shown the downfall of such dictators in countries like Poland and Iraq. This analogy can be applied to the deceptive practices of certain Feng Shui practitioners who exploit unsuspecting individuals by selling them subpar products under the guise of Feng Shui. 3. These unethical practitioners tarnish the reputation of Feng Shui and deceive people for their own financial gain. Warm…

Feng Shui Tip - The Master Bedroom with an attached toilet Most master bedrooms come with an attached toilet and it is often that the position of the bed directly faces the toilet door. What can we do? Here are three ways to overcome this:- Install a screen between the bed and the toilet door. If this is not possible then, you may consider any of the following alternatives:- - Close the toilet door when not in use or - Place a lamp on the side of the bed between the toilet door and the bed.

  14. Master Cecil good afternoon. Would a sunken floor in a living room okay? Two steps Here we call it old school. 1970's style. Common in the past. So long as the REAR of the house is higher than this sunken area, is fine or okay in Feng Shui. you immediately nailed the situation, master. This sunken will be convenient if wanted as filling up is necessity. Increase the elevation of the property a bit from the road.

  15. Master Cecil, from all the recommended plans by HDB, it seems like the water supply is opposite of the kitchen. Like that the sink can be seen from the front door according to your pdf. What should we do to address the the inauspicious? Reply: Sink don’t face stove Ok, so sink don't face stove and that is it? Reply: Yes

  16. Question: Is this bad Feng Shui? Reply: 1. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, less than ideal to have a split directly at the middle. 2. This is similar to have a two piece mirror splitting the dining table into two. Thus can be considered to be inauspicious. 3. Common sense: A table such as this which has a split, may cause food to be caught in the GAP. And for hygiene purposes, may allow bacterial or germ to flourish.

These are futher considerations: 1. By the way the "certain group of people" you mentioned are:- 1.1. Mainly, the Cantonese dialect group. The idea here is, yes, the mirror would reflect bountiful food. 1.2. The other group I am afraid especially especially for those new condominiums are the Interior Designers (IDs)... as often, there are not much work needed; thus some ID's would often recommend the placement of large mirror(s) to make the living area looks larger.. In addition, they often say that it would be good to place a partition. It is all about marketing and in my opinion; one way of getting more work from the apartment/unit. 1.3. From a Flying Star Feng Shui…

Many of us are already aware of the various types of "metal" element cures such as: 1. metal windchimes 2. grandfather pendulium clock 3. 6 iching coins string together with a red string and some comes with a red tassle. 4. Personalised copper ruler (sold by some FS practitioners at a marked up price.) Which is still valid as it is still considered as a metal cure. So, what about the use of "metal in salt"? Here, some FS practitioners advice placing 6 iching coins in a container especially a glass container and add water / salt to this combination. Is this valid? Well I personally feel that this is more of a Western practise rather than in the East. It is still valid to d…

Clocks are considered `objects' of activity. It is best placed at locations of activity such as near to TV sets or hi-fi. More about clocks: 1. Do not place it above any door. 2. Unless it is used to neutralise poision arrows, you should not place it facing a window or a door. 3. Do not give a clock to a friend. Chinese consider this bad luck. 4. Do not let a clock face a stove. 5. Do not let a clock face a bed. 6. Do not let a clock face an altar. A clock is another `tool' used to deflect sha qi or poison arrow and it does not do good for it to face a bed or a stove. Warmest Regards, Cecil
