When we discuss fire element, usually, lighting is not taken into consideration in this caution note! Although Red is considered an auspicious colour, the following need to be taken into consideration:- If one is not sure, or had not properly consulted a Feng Shui practitioner, it is best not to use fire (red, pink or purple) liberally because: 1. Fire element will fuel or help earth element. (For those who are aware of Flying Star Feng Shui, it will further fuel bad earth e.g. #2 sickness or #5 misfortune, sickness. 2. Fire element is also a destroyer or the metal element especially if it is used as a cure. Besides, this, there are more considerations with regards to fir…

I heard from my Chinese friend it is no good to move to the new house in September,is it true? because am planning to move in the month of September." During this period, it is believed that ghosts and spirits are liberated from the lower realm and permitted to wander freely on our physical plane. The commencement of the seventh lunar month occurs on the following dates: Western: July 27, 2014 (Sunday); Lunar…

  8. What has Quantum Leap has to do with Feng Shui? For those who is considered having an average but generally smooth life:- If you have been staying in the same house for a few years to many years. Do not expect to see a quantum leap in major improvements. For example, if you life is pretty normal, staying in the house, do not expect that Feng Shui can provide you with the Quantum Leap to riches and monetary wealth. However, if one has been plagued with `problems' especially in health, misfortune, can utilize Feng Shui. What is the morale of the story? Dear All, The Tropica, Singapore Case Study of Applied Feng Shui in action at the Tropica Condominium. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/review/tropica/index.htm 1. The above condominium is a good example of macro Feng Shui. 2. Feng Shui is not just about our little `private' corner i.e. for those staying in an apartment; but rather the bigger picture also of the landscape, the site and the apartment blocks. 3. Some sites also take advantage of what we refer to as the beneficial effects of "negative ions" to our health. For example in the above case study, the water course at the frontage of this condominum project has a river that flows from auspiciously from west to east t…

  12. This is an interesting useful case study. (No names mentioned.) CASE STUDY: In essence, the question is about "Can I manipulate the Flying Star Chart of this home for the best facing direction of the main door?" Thus: What is the purpose of the 15 directions if it so easily be manipulated much like "window dressing" to make ourselves feel good but in reality.. it is not so? QUESTION: I would like to have further clarifications before generating the flying star house report for this person. In fact, both East and North facing direction of the main door of the house that this person stay in, happen to fall under the 4 bad directions according to the person's bazi a…

  14. Before getting that great layout of yours signed-off! Always superimpose e.g. the ground floor layout onto the second storey and look out for the location of the stove(s) and toilets and vice-versa. Often, this is to check on whether the 2nd storey toilet is directly above the main door and/or dining table and/or altar and/or bed location on the ground floor etc...

  15. These are some considerations: 1. Take a look at the attached photo. Although this photo is from a shop-store located in a shopping complex. 2. From the photo; one can obviously see lots of items and even fallen pieces of paper all over the place. 3. Thus, based on "commonsense" think hard before one replaces a kitchen wall or even a study room wall with glass. 3.1. By installing glass panels; one has to make sure that the specific room or kitchen has to be extremely, extremely tidy! 3.2. Furthermore; if lots of glass is used; the joints need to be considered. In this sample shop-store; the joints of the glass seems to "slice" thru the counter girl's "image". This is no…

Do not be deceived if you are house hunting and the owners switch on the air conditioning in the afternoon. This is a clear indication of an afternoon sun-facing unit.

Dear Users, 1. This article touches on the Management Principle: " Promoted to the Level of our Incompetence " 2. What this theory says is that, if we do not keep up with our skills, we could easily get promoted to the level of our incompetence. 3. For example, this clerk does a great job at his level. But, through promotions, he became an executive officer. 4. These are higher responsibilities. And he no longer does his usual clerical (monotonous) work but has higher responsibilities such as writing recommendations and supervisiong others. 5. To some others, this clerk's monotonus work can be very very boring and not enriching. 6. But to this clerk, he finds the job con…

If you are purchasing a re-sale flat, make sure that you obtain a copy of the layout plan prior to commiting to a downpayment for the flat that you like. This year alone, I have chanced to ask several clients who had `unwittingly' purchased such an apartment: The usual comment was that at the time, they saw the unit, they did not realise that there is a sloping wall. In many of the situations, they had already made an expensive commitment already. If one can, try to avoid purchasing such units as they are overall, not as favourable under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. And, such a sloping wall (with missing corner) is considered a leak. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  21. This is not Feng Shui. But because some say it is inauspicious and cannotdraw a line between what is Feng Shui andsymbolism in Chinese culture. Under symbolism in Chinese culture, it is best not to have a straight row of three (3) pendant lights especially at the dining table. These lights are often found installed above a dining table and/or bar counter and/or breakfast niche.

  23. 1. This has more to do with pure common sense 2. Here, how many of us during our childhood have open bookshelves just in-front of our study table? 3. This is to allow us to place our current semester books and reference materials like a dictionary and even some decorative items to brighten the work-area. 4. Contrast this with closed bookshelves. If so, whenever we need to access some of our "tools", we have to either open the doors or slide them which may be inconvenient as we may have to move something else to access them. 5. Thus, it is perfectly fine or OK to have open bookshelves at our work-interface = good ergonomics. 6. Therefore don't be too fearful of someone el…
