Feng Shui Tips

  1. Started by Cecil Lee,

Last weekend, while doing my rounds of Feng Shui audit at landed properties.. I walked past these two homes. What's wrong? with these two homes? Hmmm.... It reminded me of a client that was doing a full complete restoration or Additions and Alteration works! And the "silly" architect... recommended paving the entire home's car drive way with slate! Goodness me! Any person with commonsence or rather "cow-sense" would know that slate although a very beautiful material is not one of the toughest material to withstand the daily punishing of road tires "breaking up it's weak layers" and not withstanding the constant hot water and sun light that can quickly crack the slat…

Dear All, Besides accessing the exterior of the building (the environment, the site and the building/interior), for business: 1. Sole Proprietorship/Partnerships/Private Ltd Companies The date/time of birth of the Sole Proprietor/Partners are also looked at. 2. Public Listed Companies Often, in addition to accesing the exterior and interior of the building, the assessment is also made with reference to the I-Ching. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  5. In basic management books, you get to hear this statement: Management by Exception: Managers only act on exceptions and solve these problems. And reserve their efforts doing fruitful things. Feng Shui by Exception? If it ain't broken, don't Fix it. If you have the time, ponder over this statement. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. In my opinion, for English readers, if you have read Derek Walter's books, he teaches techniques or provide an understanding of a concept. Such books do not advise anyone to use something in the hope that you become `prosperous'. My stand is also the same. So, have you read books that rather ask you to do this or that?

Dear Elena, This is an illustration of a `Four combination house' which comprises two Sets of `Two houses' which are out of balance:- Please see below:- Yes, you are correct. One cannot place a water feature on a public road in front of such houses. Thus, this is overall considered a `bad layout'. To lessen the blow, it is utmost important for the main door to be `protected'. Another method is to place a water feature (if there is sufficient space in the frontage of each house to balance the house. This should reduce the `impact' for a specific house but not for it's neighbours unless they do the same. Another method most commonly used is to use the Ba Gua mirror (…

    1. Whenever you have three houses facing each other, it is best to balance this with a third house or a water position. 2. The Plus Equilbrium ensures that four houses are always facing each other or three houses and a water position forms a `PLUS' sign. This is considered an auspicious layout. Here goes:

In my opinion, this has more to do with common sense. Please see sample photo. The test is whether a person or child leaning on the edge of a table can topple it down? Thus this has more to do with the centre of gravity of the legs of the table and how stable the table top is.

    1. Feng Shui is natural and influenced by qi from the earth (magnetism). 2. However, if one of these two things come into being:- 2.1. For some, when you enter a home and suddenly feel a sudden cold (mostly in dim areas) e.g. closet or attic area. 2.2. When one carry a compass and the compass needle goes hay-wire; 3. When a home has been possed; you can count out Feng Shui as such influences will superseed the Feng Shui of a place. Thus, under such circumstances, it is best to call for help from another field: especially priests. 4. The idea here is that Feng Shui can be over-ridden by other "stronger" forces beyond the natural! 5. For us Geomancer, usually once th…

    1. Please see attachments. 2. In one of the attachments "in red": A, B, X and Y. 2.1. Originally, the recommended altar 1st choice position was in position A. Or at worst position B. 2.2. Client asked whether she could position the altar at location Y. In the illustration; one can see that if the bedroom door is in an open position; the pillar at marking X would become a poison arrow (sha qi) aimed towards the proposed altar location. Which is not ideal.

  14. The Internet is a large global community. Like any community it is governed by certain rules of behaviour. Proper behaviour on the Web is known as Netiquette - short for net etiquette. Netiquette also covers rules to maintain civility in discussions. In most cases, netiquette is enforced by fellow Netizens who will `make noise' if you do not follow proper netiquette. 1. Include a subject line A descriptive phrase in the subject line of the message header helps everyone know at a glance what the message is about. For example do not use " Water fountain ". But instead, use a phrase: Like to know where to place a water fountain. 2. Respect others' privacy Do not quote or or …

Under Symbolism in Feng Shui; best to use even number of chairs for a dining table. What about a bench? Does it count as one chair? No. Thus, if one has a bench and 4 chairs at a dining table; the bench is not counted. Thus ideally, best to avoid having a bench with 3 chairs at a dining table. Based oncommon sense, best to avoid gaps such as those shown in the photo: Asoften, such gaps may "pinch" one's skin. Not exactly comfortable, rite?

  16. 1. Case Study: Client wanted to install a lift for their 3 storey home. Based on a first draft from the architect proposed plans. 2. The original location suggested for the lift was marked in red "B" as shown in the attachment. 3. Although location "B" does not have good Flying Stars, but because as this is a semi-detached, home; the proposed location is at the frontage area. And it would be a waste if the frontage area is blocked by a lift. 4. As Shapes and Forms prevail over the stars (Flying Stars); the client was advised to place the lift, instead at marking in red "A". Which is conveniently next to the stairs. 5. In addition, the client was advised to avoid having h…

Apologise for the "misleading" title of this tip. Actually, this is a quote from Singapore's Minister of State (Trade and Industry and Foreign Affairs), Mr Raymond Lim. " I think one of our problems is that we are very impatient people and that it is the instant tree approach. You know, in Singapore, when you want to have a tree, you don't sort of grow it slowly. Just take a tree and plant it and get an instant tree" Mr Raymond Lim Many of us can draw a parallel, in " Fast Food Feng Shui "! How true his statement for everyone in the world indeed! Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

  18. 1. Very often, many clients would asked me where should they or rather; where should they NOT hang "sensitive" photos (husband & wife wedding photos) and family portaits? 2. Again, one should think about whether is it related to common sense or not? 3. For example, if one is living on the ground floor and close to the "ground". 4. In the attached photo; of course, I merely use an outdated Iphone 4 with low resolution; and yet, I am able to take a photo of a 2nd storey apartment room. And if one can see, there are some pictures / photos hanging on the wall. 5. Thus, if one is living close to the ground and often, many don't fully close their windows; In such a situatio…

  19. Hello, I need help in how to apply different lucky positions like sleeping and work positions. I tried your free reports and I am not sure how to apply them. In my Sleeping position report for example, it says there that my best sleeping position is at the North direction. It has an illustration so it is easy to follow. What I do not know is which direction to follow: the bagua map of our house or should I use a physical (magnetic) compass? It would be different if I follow both, right? Thank you for your help!

I am interested in finding out how to apply your Plus Equilibrium Theory to a cul de sac. As FS practice, I have been walking around my new neighborhood and noticed quite a few cul de sacs in the blocks nearby. How do you put a water feature on a public road in front of the houses? I avoiding buying a house on a cul de sac because I wasn't clear on the FS rules governing such configurations. When in doubt, don't buy it. Thank you.

In many instances, even if we try to build our perfect dream-Feng Shui home; there are often compromises to be made. Often, for convenience, we have toilets that are located at no longer choice location in the home. Or that kitchen stove could be viewed from the main entrance door. Thus we can try to build a near-perfect Feng Shui friendly home. But not always 100 percent perfect!

  23. Sometime back, Robert shared with me this observation: It is not advisable to read a book page by page and act on the words as you read each chapter of the book. What happens if the author writes a book with Chapters 1, 2 and 3 saying about a certain theory. If one hastily applies each of the concepts in chapter 1, 2 and 3 (assumming he is the type who reads from chapter 1, 2, 3 in an orderly fashion). What he did not realise is that the author in his final chapter says " Chapter 1, 2 and 3 are available concepts but inauspicious to apply. Oops!! However, he finds them not suitable and in his last chapter gives the reason and the method he feels that is correct. Erh... i…

Unintentionally creating a "Bright-Hall" or Ming Tang effect. This is why 8 out of 10 times; having a water position is never a bad thing after all.
