In Feng Shui, in situations where: 1. A stove directly faces (opposite) a water position. Often, a small mirror is placed at the water position, such that when one lits up the hob, the mirror can "reflect" back the "fire". 2. This is also for a stove facing an open window. A small mirror is placed at the level / hob, to reflect back the "warmth". 3. Some FS practitioners also advise placing a mirror at the back of the stove. Do guess what is this for? Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear All, Frankly, I have no time yet to translate an article posted to a Chinese Newspaper. Feng Shui can be applied transparently into a home - without one even knowing that the specific home has been "Feng Shui-ed". This letter is from a client of mine... Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. In the Gua Calculation, what calendar system to use? Before you even start to calculate the Gua Number, you should have already converted your YEAR of birth to the Chinese Lunar Calendar. All concepts on this website all bases it's calculation in relation to the Chinese Calendar system (and is done automatically for you when you use our online calculators). In Feng Shui there are two calendar system the Chinese Lunar Calendar System and the Xia Calendar System (or more accurately the Seasonal Calendar). Where the Xia Calendar is always closely related and can be deduced from the Lunar Calendar. In fact all Feng Shui theories so far are related to the Lunar Calendar. T…

Eight House (Ba Zhai Yun) and Flying Star (Xuan Kong Feng Shui) are two of the compass schools. The compass school is one of the two major component for evaluation a home. In order to effectively evaluate your Home Luck you need to refer to:- 1. Shapes and Forms The surrounding of the building and the surrounding of the interior 2. Compass Schools 2a. Eight House / Eight Trigram is used as a way to personalise a person based solely on the Year of Birth to the environment. Thus, it's sole purpose if any is to provide you with some understanding as to which of the 4 directions are favourable for you and which are unfavourable for you. Thus, we have Eight Directions just as…

1. The most common leak in a home is the toilet locating close to the center influence of the home. 2. If the toilet is located on top or beside of the main entrance of the home. 3. When there is a straight path where the Qi will enter from the main door and exit directly out of the house. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-breath.htm 4. Missing Corners in the Homes (ie not a full square house) URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-building.htm When looking for a house, you should always try to avoid a house with any of the above 4 common leaks. With such leaks in the home, often your earth luck will be tremendously reduced.

No matter how good your heaven luck maybe, if you stay in a inauspicious house, you will be greatly influenced by the house. ie. a person who has excellent Feng Shui during the age of 30-50. But during his time, he moved into a new home. However, when checked with the Flying Star (Xuan Kong) Feng Shui, the house shows of a one with extremely bad feng shui. Thus, this person will not enjoy his favourable luck as defined in his Heaven Luck, but rather he will encounter series of problems such as Illness, Career problems etc. ie. a person who is not enjoying a good feng shui during the age of 30-50. But during this period, he is staying in an house with very good wealth col…

Dear All, 1. Our quest to learn or apply Feng Shui is based on this premise: " Try to learn and apply as much as we can : those concepts and princples that work for MOST PEOPLE, MOST OF THE TIME ". This is the only Guarantee Feng Shui can provide us. 2. We often hear "I was told, this FIGURINE is good for me." Or buy this ... figurine.. " It works wonders!" Working "wonders" can mean different things for different people. It certainly works " Wonders " for the seller, who will profit from the sale. Have we ever wondered... why is it that a product can do us wonder BUT, there is no guarantee attached to it. For example, a price tag could say " Buy me, and you will be guara…

Dear all, Looking at the street directory for a first-hand clue ===================================================== It is most important that we continue to remember the maxim: location, location, location. It is an advantage to get a local street directory; to have a "helicopter view" of your future home. In this example, (currently, this site has been redeveloped); the market place block 724 is like a `spear' piecing at a specific unit under block 713. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Users, 1. Nowadays, based on my personal observations: 8 out of 10 Geomancers are more of a Human (man) luck practitioners. 2. What is Human (Man) Luck? Unlike Feng Shui which deals with Earth Luck; Human luck practitioners can loosely be described as people like counsellors or for church goers; having a senior e.g. pastor giving broad advice. 3. In my opinion, many of the Human Luck practitioners sell lots of `stuffs' or have `connections' to the sale of such objects or alternatively advise their clients on the `benefits of such objects':- 3.1 Some of these items include: 3.1.1 SALE OF FOUNTAINS The lucrative sale of fountains at high prices e.g. $388 to $988 depend…

Dear Users, A practical commonsense approach to better qi flow is space clearing. Believe it or not; it is still good to do space clearing. For the Chinese, many already had started to clean their house as well as throwing away or putting aside unwanted stuffs...prior to the start of the New Lunar Year which is on 1 February 2003.

Dear Users, This issue is about Feng Shui and Business 1. In my opinion, Singapore can be considered a country of intellects and majority are salaried workers. Working for MNCs or companies. Perhaps, some feel that it was due to the education system that many have gone thru as far back as the 1960's. This was because Singapore had no choice but to struggle with the bread and butter issues of housing and finding jobs. 2. Several years back several businessmen approached me to Feng Shui a new business: Chains selling bubble tea. 3. I refused to have anything to do with Feng Shui for such premises, simply because, such business models are simply not sound. 4. At that time a…

Dear Users, 1. This article touches on the Management Principle: " Promoted to the Level of our Incompetence " 2. What this theory says is that, if we do not keep up with our skills, we could easily get promoted to the level of our incompetence. 3. For example, this clerk does a great job at his level. But, through promotions, he became an executive officer. 4. These are higher responsibilities. And he no longer does his usual clerical (monotonous) work but has higher responsibilities such as writing recommendations and supervisiong others. 5. To some others, this clerk's monotonus work can be very very boring and not enriching. 6. But to this clerk, he finds the job con…

Further to what I had mentioned earlier, 1. I forgot to mentioned about 9-Star Ki. This model was first exported to Japan. The Japanese make it into a package which looks at individuals (some form of Heaven Luck) with Feng Shui (earth luck). A few practitioners include the other missing element i.e. Man-luck. 2. 9-Star ki can be considered as one and the same with Flying Star Feng Shui. 3. I believe, some good 9-Star Ki practitioners have properly included MAN-LUCK into the 9-Star Ki EARTH-LUCK analysis. And this is one of the most popular forms of Feng Shui practised by the British Gentlemen. 4. But always, there are many who will `miss' the point and concentrate only on…

Dear Users, 1. The Luo Han fish craze ========================= One of my friends who is a fish expert, feels very strongly against rearing such a fish. To him, this fish comes from the `drain'. Yes, this is indeed true. Overall, it is not auspicious to keep two fishes in a single tank even if it is separated by a piece of plastic divider. The reason for keeping them under separate containers is that these fishes (inclusive of the dragon fish) are territorial fishes who refuse to share their surroundings with another competitor. I personally feel that keeping two of these fishes is not ideal as it creates disharmony in the family. 2. Flying Star Feng Shui and Fish Tank …

Dear All, 1. In a house hunting effort, a client asked me to comment on this layout plan as they were really interested in this apartment. 2. This is because, the owners are selling it at a very attractive price - very much below valuation. 3. Fortunately, they had asked for a layout plan and asked for an opinion on it. 4. This house is similar to the sketch provided in the attached: slopingsidewall1.gif 5. This apartment can be considered as entrapped or sandwiched in the block of flat. There is a huge missing corner. 6. Such an entrapped house implies: financial distress. True enough, the current owners were forced to sell the house because of financial problems. In add…

If you are purchasing a re-sale flat, make sure that you obtain a copy of the layout plan prior to commiting to a downpayment for the flat that you like. This year alone, I have chanced to ask several clients who had `unwittingly' purchased such an apartment: The usual comment was that at the time, they saw the unit, they did not realise that there is a sloping wall. In many of the situations, they had already made an expensive commitment already. If one can, try to avoid purchasing such units as they are overall, not as favourable under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. And, such a sloping wall (with missing corner) is considered a leak. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear All, I can recall many instances where, I was asked to resurvey homes that were earlier assessed a year or two back. In many of such situations, there were at least two or more leaks that were either not detected earlier or fixed or avoided since majority of these homes were undergoing major renovations. This had caused financial distress to the occupants of these homes. For example:- 1. One owner was made to paint his entire house pink! A confirmation of his and his wife's element says that the fire element `pink' is a bad colour for the husband - breadwinner. They were told to close off the main door of their bedroom. And had to enter their master bedroom from an…

Dear All, 1. Recently, I have encountered cases perhaps one may all it a coincidence, of bad luck especially moving into the house during the 7th month. 2. These new clients faced difficulties pr bad luck during this period. 3. For the Chinese, if you had encountered such situations, make sure that you may have to burn incense and `gold paper' and offer fruits before the 7th month ends. 4. Usually, during the 7th month, offerings such as mentioned above are offered on the 1st day of the 7th lunar month, the 15th day and the last day of the lunar month. But for those who have a spate of bad luck, should make an offering now and on the last day of the lunar month i.e. whic…

Dear All, Another authentic cure is the following:- 6-coins in a Jar of salt water ============================== Step 1:- ====== Find a glass jar, approximately 3 inches or more inches in diameter. Enough to hold 6 metal coins. Step 2:- ======= Pour ordinary tap water into the jar until approximately three-quarters full. Step 3:- ====== Stir the salt solution until it is fully dissolved. Step 4:- ======= Place 6 metal coins (i-ching type with square holes at the centre) into an ordinary glass jar. Step 5:- ======= (THIS IS OPTIONAL) Add some gold flakes into this jar. If the gold flake is a piece of flake, cut it into small sizes or simply place this small piece of flak…

Dear All, 1. This concept is not a modern invention. 2. In the past, I had written in this forum about this concept. 3. The concept: If one look out of a child's bedroom and a distance away, on the right side; if there is a structure i.e. looks like a profile of e.g. a pagoda or high tension wire (note that this is a distance away); this is considered auspicious. Here, it implies that there will be `scholars' or children will do exceptionally well in their studies. 4. In Hong Kong, many Feng Shui practitioners have advised their clients to place a pagoda figurine on their children's study table. Please refer to attached illustration. 5. Here, the pagoda figurine can be e.…
