Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines

Feng Shui Tips

  1. Damaged tile flooring is rarely seen in residential interiors such as living rooms, dining areas, and bedrooms. However, during the 1980s, some local residences utilized broken marble tiles that were sealed with epoxy, typically in shades of white, cream, or a hint of pink. While Feng Shui does not specifically address this issue, the field of Symbolism offers additional insights. Some individuals associate the term 'broken' with negative connotations. In contrast, no one would consider uniformly laid rectangular tiles to be undesirable, as this is the conventional approach to tile installation. Nevertheless, the herringbone pattern for floor tile…

  4. 1. Some geomancers argue that if an individual is born during the RAT hour (11pm to 1am), the birth date must be adjusted. 1.1 Therefore, if someone is born on February 6th between 11pm and 1am, the geomancer asserts that the birth date is now February 7th. 2. Nonetheless, there exists the concept of the RAT hour spanning across TWO days: 2.1 Consequently, if a person is born on February 6th at 0000HRS, their birth date will always remain on that day. 2.2 Similarly, if the individual is born on February 6th at 2359HRS, it …

  7. 1. Why is it that some geomancers recommend that you use their recommended Interior Designer (ID)? And why you do not do so? 2. Reply: We have to ask ourselves is there any motive to this? 3. On the contrary, Geomancy.net will never ever tie up with any Interior decorators or contractors for three main reasons: 3.1. For the simple reason that this is a conflict of interests. Even if the geomancer does not get a commission or "cut"; we never know whether there is any bias or ulterior motive from the geomancer's advice? 3.2. "One man's meat is another man's poison!" I may like this individual of the Interior Design company very much. But you may not like…

  10. These are some considerations: 1. Some feature walls may be larger than the largest single piece of laminate or formica. 2.Often most single piece of formica is around 4 feet by 8 feet wide. 3. Thus, many feature walls are much larger than this. 4. For example, in this illustration, this wall has two 4 feet by 8 feet wide pieces joined together. 4.1. Unfortunately, the designer decided to place these two pieces in a vertical joint. 4.2. If so, there is a pronounced "hair-line" split that can be obviously seen very distinctively both in the photo illustration and in real-life situation.

Any problem if we install ceiling fan in every room? 1. No issue with the full length mirror in the walk-in wardrope area in the master. 2. Less than ideal to have a full length mirror on that side of the wall sharing with the main door: this is because such a mirror faces the dining table and perhaps the existing sink area: "Are you able to keep the dining table (area) neat and tidy? If not, most likely, you can see the entire dining table from this mirror. …

This can help determine the height of a kitchen cabinet, usually ranging from 33 inches to 35 inches. 3. The second line on the Feng Shui ruler, highlighted in red on the attachment, relates to Yin measurements, used for the deceased or coffin dimensions. 4. However, for the auspicious measurements of an altar, it is recommended to take into account both Yang and Yin measurements, catering to both the living and the deceased.

  15. Common sense and a table Sometimes it is best to avoid having a table with just one-leg. This has more to do with common sense. And centre-of-gravity. For example, can a child or person leaning on the side/edge of the table make it topple down? With four legs, this can never happen to a table. But look at the photo.... seems "scary" right?

  16. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, it is equally important to "visualise" a painting and where to put it. Especially if a painting has a river flowing "somewhere". Where possible, it should not be hung on a wall where it looks as if; the water flows out of the house e.g. out of the main door.

Case Study: A degree in Common sense is free!" Common sense says that we must be wary of questionable advice! Since in the first place many of such illogical advice may not be free! You most likely paid or will have to pay for it. Once in a while, I get to hear new clients asking me: "My previous geomancer says" to lock up the master toilet. And they had not used it for the last 5 years! The key essence is "YOU stay there!; we (geomancer's) Don't!" applies. We only visit a home for several hours and YOU have to live with our consequences... or DO YOU?

As mentioned, previously, in Singapore and in the 1970's one of the most popular trees planted in a landed property garden is the mango tree. In the past, individual landed properties range from: 7,000sq. ft to 12,000 sq. ft for bungalows, half that for semi-detached homes and 1/3 to 1/4 of the above for a terrace homes. It is very common for many home owners to plant a mango or even several mango trees on the grounds of their landed property. In this example, as the mango tree was planted outside of the property; and because the large part of the floor area was covered by concrete; this would account for this tree to be smaller than what it can grow further. But …
