You wrote: "The renovation is practically making the old house new. I hacked 2 main walls to move the rooms to the right, change the main door, move the toilets, replace all doors and windows, gate, new fence, jack up the roof to make ceiling higher but roof tiles remain, new floor tiles, new plaster ceiling, new wiring for the whole house. Will this change the period of the house or no?" Please do a search on the top left frame of this forum with the words "change to period 8". There are already tons of information on the above. More importantly:- 1. Go check out that there are two different schools of thought: one of which is the conservative thinking. 2. No living Geom…

1. Drawing a parallel with the Titanic which sank. 1.1. Titanic had been designed to stay afloat with FOUR flooded compartments but not more. 1.2. When Titanic had a glancing blow with an iceberg; this buckled her right side = starboard. This caused a total of five out of her sixteen compartments to be flooded. 2. Often each home also can withstand a certain number of "flooding" of her compartments. Often, if there are around 3 rooms that have flooded; this home similar to the titanic will inevitable sink. 3. Thus all the material things that one try to enhance this home will literally sink with the home! 4. The main situation is to try to identify and fix as many (major)…

Layout planning of landed properties & common sense: Before signing off the approved plans; always super-impose the layout out plans: 1. Super-impose the 2nd storey layout plan onto the ground floor plan. And check that the 2nd storey toilet(s) are not directly above the ground floor main entrance door. Make sure that the toilet(s) are also not directly above the stove, a guest bed on the ground floor or above an altar. 2. For the 2nd storey, just make sure that the stove is not directly above one's bed which may be directly above the kitchen.

Angular shapes often may look sharp or pointed. And may cause or create a Sha Qi or Poison arrow(s) For example, one look and one can visualise the sharp point at the bottom of this classic light:- The light looks like if it is hung in the middle of a balcony.. seems like a poison arrow or Sha Qi. However, although these lights are not rounded and may have sharp curves; it does not look anything like the above sharp point: Thus may seem pointy.. but looks more like a pussy cat when compared to the first illustration. Of course these rounded "bird cage" style lights are the safest .. to please the ultra-conservatives.

Morning master. Is such design advisable to use? Comments: This is based on common sense. In the unlikely event that the doors dropped off or one accidentally store something heavy over-head. Another consideration is under symbolism, it is not ideal to sleep under the cabinet.

Dear Eve, Overall, `disturbing' the Grand Duke would mean doing renovation (minor or major) but in this case, frankly, I don't see knocking a few holes on the East wall as one. It is ok to go ahead with this. But some overzealous FS practioner may say otherwise. As for the book, currently, I put it on hold for the moment.. but will continue this year. This is because I am currently working on the on-line course for www.geomancy-u.com and another reason is because currently, there are so many FS books out there and am still thinking of whether to come out with a `general' first book or looking into specialised areas to write on as I feel that it is no point coming out with…

Dear Luna, The Green Dragon and White Tiger can have two `meanings'. 1st `meaning' based on the Shapes and Form School ========================================== 1. If we are simply looking at the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui, then you are correct to say that the Green Dragon is always on the East while the White Tiger is always on the left. This cannot be changed at all. 2nd `meaning' based on the Five Elements Concept ======================================== 2. There is another way of looking at the Green Dragon, White Tiger. This falls under the Five Element concept. If you notice why call it a Green Dragon? or a White Tiger? If one looks at the colour chart of …

Dear Davis, To clarify, if there is a fire, fire `moves' upwards and a room above the kitchen is not considered `ideal'. But as you have brought out for example a safe. A safe in the same situation stores things and a room above a safe looks fine. In Feng Shui it is inauspcious for example to have a toilet above a bedroom. But, not the other way around. Same situation for a store room. Dear Joe, Symbolism in Feng Shui is equally important i.e. Blue symbolises " Water. " In the Book of I-Ching, Water means having difficulties:- 1. If an entire roof is covered with `water' (blue) one can imagine the amount of problems the household will get. The amount of `water' weighing down on one's home is enormous. 2. As I mentioned also that too much water in relation to the home e.g. greater than 33.3 percent is equally bad as too much water results in an Yin environment. 3. I have seen quite alot of occupants of houses with `blue' roofs facing difficulties and this correlates to what you have mentioned and to me, I believe it is bad to have blue tiled roof. 4. The…

Dear Fraser, Actually, you can do a free pillars of destiny report at http://www.geomancy-online.com to determine your birth element. Anyway, your birth element is earth. If you are a weak earth, the fire is good for you. Otherwise, metal is good for you. Actually, I think you do not really have to be so concerned about the bathroom. Areas which you should be more concerned with is with things that you spend more time with. Example your own bedroom and items you wear or carry. These are more important to suit yourself then the colour of your bathroom. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Fraser, Please read below:- Actually, I personally find these rather unimportant. More importantly the colour is suitable for you, that is good enough for clothings. As for the lines etc, it is really up to your liking. Generally you have to use your own personal judgement. Items can sometimes be made of different elements such as plants are both wood and earth. So similarly colour can also have to different elements such as yellow-red, which is earth and fire. Then you have to see which is more, if more red then most likely fire. Next important criteria is the shape takes precedence over colour. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Who are the conservatives and who are the modernists? Please click this link to have an understanding of the term main door and the frontage... These are some other considerations when determing the "facing direction" (which may not may not necessarily standing inside the main entrance door looking outwards):- 18. Historical precedence 18.1 As mentioned earlier, for a home that was stayed in for sometime: with some history; a few flying star chart could be plotted to see which is more accurate. 19. The concept that earth luck is STRONGEST at the ground level than at higher floors. Thus, some Geomancers felt that they c…

You wrote: "1. Can you tell me what it means from a feng shui apartment to have this type of floor plan, ie why we should close the bathroom door and what would happen if you don't. I'm concerned, but I don't want to be paranoid." Reply: There are two considerations: 1.1. Commonsense Feng Shui and "First Impressions Count." 1.1.1 Here, just imagine when we step into the home; visually if the toilet door is not closed; then our "first impression" is to see thewash basin + themirror. 1.1.2 It is like the notion of asking someone not to place the dining table so close to the main entrance door. Again this is cow-sense. Some of us l…

In reference to my previous comments, I believe there may be a practical "downside" to using a curtain to cover the toilet door. This downside primarily relates to issues of effort or laziness and hygiene. Some individuals install a curtain and subsequently forget about it! (Install and forget). After a few weeks, if the curtains are not changed regularly, they could become a breeding ground for germs. Just imagine your attractive face, whether masculine or feminine, coming into contact with those curtains... It is possible to transfer numerous germs from the curtains to your lovely face! If you are uncomfortable with this situation, it may b…

1. You can find the answer to your question, under this link:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=28529&new= 2. Frankly, as there are many grains of pepples on the beach; there are also many geomancers and their differing view points. 3. The attached is Geomancy.net's interpretation of colours (British) [ colors - American ]. 4. Between the colours (colors) mentioned, there can be a range of hues. And in such instances the term "IT DEPENDS" applies.
