Who are the conservatives and who are the modernists? Please click this link to have an understanding of the term main door and the frontage... These are some other considerations when determing the "facing direction" (which may not may not necessarily standing inside the main entrance door looking outwards):- 18. Historical precedence 18.1 As mentioned earlier, for a home that was stayed in for sometime: with some history; a few flying star chart could be plotted to see which is more accurate. 19. The concept that earth luck is STRONGEST at the ground level than at higher floors. Thus, some Geomancers felt that they c…

1. Drawing a parallel with the Titanic which sank. 1.1. Titanic had been designed to stay afloat with FOUR flooded compartments but not more. 1.2. When Titanic had a glancing blow with an iceberg; this buckled her right side = starboard. This caused a total of five out of her sixteen compartments to be flooded. 2. Often each home also can withstand a certain number of "flooding" of her compartments. Often, if there are around 3 rooms that have flooded; this home similar to the titanic will inevitable sink. 3. Thus all the material things that one try to enhance this home will literally sink with the home! 4. The main situation is to try to identify and fix as many (major)…

You wrote: "The renovation is practically making the old house new. I hacked 2 main walls to move the rooms to the right, change the main door, move the toilets, replace all doors and windows, gate, new fence, jack up the roof to make ceiling higher but roof tiles remain, new floor tiles, new plaster ceiling, new wiring for the whole house. Will this change the period of the house or no?" Please do a search on the top left frame of this forum with the words "change to period 8". There are already tons of information on the above. More importantly:- 1. Go check out that there are two different schools of thought: one of which is the conservative thinking. 2. No living Geom…

1. As previously mentioned; what I had mentioned really has more to do with common sense or rather "Common sense Feng Shui ". 2. In many homes: apartments, private units, landed property bedrooms; one often sees a side beam as shown under the attachment. 3. In this example, there are TWO bedrooms. And the beds are positioned slightly differently: one with the bed head against wall and the other the bed is parallel towards the wall. Each bedroom encounters a side beam = so what? No big deal! 4. In this illustration the load of the upper floor(s) is carried down in the BLUE arrows. And these "beams" are simply CONDUITS.

These are futher considerations: 1. By the way the "certain group of people" you mentioned are:- 1.1. Mainly, the Cantonese dialect group. The idea here is, yes, the mirror would reflect bountiful food. 1.2. The other group I am afraid especially especially for those new condominiums are the Interior Designers (IDs)... as often, there are not much work needed; thus some ID's would often recommend the placement of large mirror(s) to make the living area looks larger.. In addition, they often say that it would be good to place a partition. It is all about marketing and in my opinion; one way of getting more work from the apartment/unit. 1.3. From a Flying Star Feng Shui…

Dear Chris, The most important consideration under the Eight House Theory is that the house should suit the breadwinner. This is the main concept of the Eight House Theory. The good news is that there are many couples who have `opposite' houses ie. one partner East house and the other partner West house. What you should look at is:- On Death and Disaster Intangible force I have mentioned in a few replies that in terms of unsuitability of a house, Death ranks first and Disaster ranks second. The main thing you should have is that as far as possible both these inauspicious intangible force do not flow thru a. Main Entrance door b. Bedroom Here, for example in the bedroom, a…

Dear Fraser, Actually, you can do a free pillars of destiny report at http://www.geomancy-online.com to determine your birth element. Anyway, your birth element is earth. If you are a weak earth, the fire is good for you. Otherwise, metal is good for you. Actually, I think you do not really have to be so concerned about the bathroom. Areas which you should be more concerned with is with things that you spend more time with. Example your own bedroom and items you wear or carry. These are more important to suit yourself then the colour of your bathroom. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Fraser, Please read below:- Actually, I personally find these rather unimportant. More importantly the colour is suitable for you, that is good enough for clothings. As for the lines etc, it is really up to your liking. Generally you have to use your own personal judgement. Items can sometimes be made of different elements such as plants are both wood and earth. So similarly colour can also have to different elements such as yellow-red, which is earth and fire. Then you have to see which is more, if more red then most likely fire. Next important criteria is the shape takes precedence over colour. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

You wrote: "1. Can you tell me what it means from a feng shui apartment to have this type of floor plan, ie why we should close the bathroom door and what would happen if you don't. I'm concerned, but I don't want to be paranoid." Reply: There are two considerations: 1.1. Commonsense Feng Shui and "First Impressions Count." 1.1.1 Here, just imagine when we step into the home; visually if the toilet door is not closed; then our "first impression" is to see thewash basin + themirror. 1.1.2 It is like the notion of asking someone not to place the dining table so close to the main entrance door. Again this is cow-sense. Some of us l…

1. This reference chart proves to be a valuable tool in distinguishing the colors associated with each of the Five elements. 2. Additional factors must be taken into account: A. YELLOW COLOUR 2.1. Yellow can be classified as either the Metal (Gold) or Earth element at times. 2.2. The Earth element is mainly linked with the color yellow. Pay attention to the texture of the material. For instance, if the finish is matte, especially in curtains, then it can be categorized as yellow. 2.3. Nevertheless, if the material is shiny or contains "shiny" gold or gold-like threads, then it may be associated with the Metal (Gold) element instea…

Dear All, 1. Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew has consistently avoided having statues or portraits of himself displayed, despite his remarkable success. 2. In contrast, dictators often promote themselves through grandiose statues and propaganda photos. However, history has shown the downfall of such dictators in countries like Poland and Iraq. This analogy can be applied to the deceptive practices of certain Feng Shui practitioners who exploit unsuspecting individuals by selling them subpar products under the guise of Feng Shui. 3. These unethical practitioners tarnish the reputation of Feng Shui and deceive people for their own financial gain. Warm…

1. A cove lighting is built into ledges and recesses in a ceiling. 2. It also looks good or aesthetic and it also hides the light tubes etc.. 3. The major advantage is that it is very friendly to the eyes as it provides a very even lighting. 4. In Feng Shui, these are some considerations:- 4.1. Sometimes; many people mistaken the drop down ledges as a form of a beam. Especially if one seems to be seated below this ledge. 4.2. In reality, these are not load bearing beams; thus no physical harm. More likely psychological in nature. 4.3. Especially if we have visitors and many visitors comment that "Hey, it is no good to seat below a beam". Otherwise, no issue. 5. In reality…

Question: Instead of placing my dining table at the purple marking "A"; Can I place my dining table at marking "B", instead i.e. facing the main door. Repy: 1. When entering a residence, our attention is typically drawn to the immediate environment around us. 2. Imagine, for some individuals, they tend to clutter their dining table with various items such as old cell phones, chargers, and books. What kind of impression does this give? 3. It is advisable to have a barrier between the dining table and the front door to maintain privacy. However, many partition walls have openings for display, making the dining table partially visible. 4. If there is…

1. Again; this is another costly "no-brainer". 2. Furthermore, if initally commonsense had prevail; this would not have happened! 3. Let's say, even if one has the highest IQ and education; but could not look into the practical side of things... this ain't no good. 4. This reminds me of the Commonsense reasoning of "non-conductivity" of heat from parquet flooring. This is why many quality homes use parquet flooring for their bedrooms. For example, when we wake up; our feet touches the ground. And if the floor is made of tiles or granite or marble; our feet feels the cold. While steeping on wood (parquet) is another thing all together. Commonsense, commonsense and commons…

Hi Randy, Again, from some feng shui book that I have read, if you can't relocate your toilet or your main entrance, I will advise you not to use the toilet above the main entrance (I believe you have more than 1 toilet right?). In addition, you may want to have a lamp at the entrance and ensure it is on for 24 hrs. This is what we call the "chang ming deng" in feng shui which will help to reduce the negative qi with its yang energy. Regards, Chris Ng

Further to what I had mentioned; 1. Always remember, a plot at a T-junction is at the mercy of "Commonsense" Feng Shui. 2. The test is: "Can a run-amok vehicle be able to slam into the property?" Yes or No? If Yes, then this is most likely as illustrated in the attachment a potential plot (in this case) a home facing a T-junction. 3. The assumption is that it is not a one-way street where traffic flows away from the T-junction. It also depends on which country one is in: a Right-Hand drive or Left-Hand drive.
