Five Element Cures (Wu Xing)

Five Element (Wu Xing Zhi Liao) Cures

  1. FIVE YELLOW These are some of the considerations:- 1. Frankly, it is so easy to ask someone else: " it is too risky " to stay in THIS BEDROOM. 2. You have correctly coined it "risks". Everything we do, we have to accept some risks. 3. In practical sense, many of us don't own a home with "x" number of bedrooms. Many in fact, have so few bedrooms. And just asking a family not to allow family members to sleep in a room is close to "kicking" them out of the home! 4. Of course, one can say that it is much better than being an "eunuch". But hey, ifthe family has all "girls-team" this statement becomes irrelevant. …

  2. In my view, the following are some important considerations: 1. The concept is that one is not wedded to the waterfall itself, but rather situated close to it. 1.1. One might be apprehensive about being married to a waterfall. However, since this is not a lasting arrangement, and provided that the waterfall does not disrupt the ceremony—such as water splashing onto guests or food—it is generally acceptable. 1.2. Alternatively, if the sound of the waterfall significantly overwhelms the atmosphere and disrupts the announcements and activities of the wedding. 2. Most of the aforementioned points relate to common sense. 3. Auto-suggestion and self-ful…

Hello I am moving to a new house that appears to suit my husband and I. The main doors are on the west and northwest of the house, and the rear of the house/yard is east facing. Both my husband and I are weak wood element, so we should do well with many water elements. We will be moving our koi with us, and it seems that the most auspicious place to have a koi pond is in the East or Southeast area of the property. However, as far as I understand, water features should be in the front of the house, not in the back. I have a small space in the front yard, but I would prefer to have the pond in the back yard since it is much larger and I will not have to worry about people…

Further to what I had mentioned, for any landed property, the "easiest" fix is to use a "top view" approach - inclusive of a lamp post or even the use of landscaping such as a row of plants or even tiles that show an outline of the missing corner. Inside the home, if Flying Star Feng Shui is used to assess the interior of the home, if there are in general #3's (quarrels, conflicts and disputes) then a Feng Shui practitioner may recommend the use of "lighting" to burn off #3 and or use fire element e.g. such as red to burn off this bad start. However, this is only a general statement as all flying star number variables has to be looked at e.g. mountain star, water star a…

  6. Dear Fraser, Usually, symbolism takes precedence over the material of the object. For example, if it is a wooden pyramid; we should consider it of the fire element as it has a pointed top. Secondly, the colour of the object usually also takes precedence over the material used. For example, if it is a red plastic chair, we should consider it as a fire element. One important point to note is that we should not be overly concerned with every `small' object we find around us. As a guide, we should consider objects that are 33.3 percent of the overall size of the room or area as having an impact on us. Otherwise, one should not concern ourselves with it. The same is not true i…

Hi James, Although, I have replied you via e-mail. I am replying this in general for other user's benefit:- james koh wrote: Dear Robert, I know this has probably been discussed thousand times but I could not find it in the forum. I have confusion finding my main door. I stays on the 10th floor. I don't know whether should I consider this a low floor to use my hall windows as main door. Secondly, can I get the facing of my main door by standing right at my door looking outside? Frankly, I hope I could do this or else standing from centre of my apartment will give my door disastrous direction. Thanks in advance James …

Dear Diane, In Chinese (dialect group - Cantonese) the numeral `Eight' sounds like " Fatt " which means "Prosper". This is most likely the reason why some people sell it as a string of 8 Chinese coins. For a Feng Shui cure, it is advised that the two extra coins be removed. Else the cure is not effective. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Yes, this type of hulu is acceptable, except minus the 3 coins. Metallic or bronze/ copper hulu is ok. But avoid hanging the metallic ones. 2. Metallic ones are suppose to be placed on a stable platform e.g. table etc... 3. This cure is used more for #2 and even #5.

Dear Master Robert, Thank you very much for your promt reply. I just realised that with concave mirror I could suck back my missing corner. However, as I am staying at 9th floor, a chinese temple's back is facing my missing E corner . At the sector (1/2 E & 1/2NE) is my daughter's room I learned that temple has very strong yin qi, will the mirror suck the yin qi at the same time? Kindly please advise. Thank you Jacky

Dear Rose, What you have described is based on the Eight Aspirations or Life Aspirations or Associations. It is based on interpretation of each of the Eight Trigrams. As each of the Trigrams has a direction, therefore many Feng Shui authors like to write about it in their books. Like you have cleverly deduced, that it is too general and does not take into account NOT even a person's Gua number, and thus more easy for book authors to write about. Even the Eight House Theory takes into account our personal Gua number and thus, it can be considered to be personalised to each of us. But the Eight Aspirations or associations e.g. South-West = Romance or Relationship is too gen…

Dear Anon, Oops! Simply plain unlucky to have such a neighbour! Often, to be honest, sometimes there is nothing much we can do since this is common property! Logically, we could try to speak to our neighbour, first. (Crossing-fingers). But if cannot help... perhaps... long shot.. go to the neighbourhood "management"... if all these seems a hopeless idea... really sorry, though.. erh.. resign to fate.. already! Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. There are situations where, on occasions, if the neighbour does not have cctv camera or survelliance or anyone watching... JUST pray.. that all these things "disappear!". HINT: some one goes to steal all these "yucky" items and throw…

  14. Dear Niki, 1. You can checked out the Chinese Astrology page at http://www.lovesigns.net The above link has information about your animal sign, its characteristics and compatibility with others. 2. Under Feng Shui, my advise is to take your time to digest the various `Schools' of Feng Shui such as: - The Shapes and Form School - The Compass Schools You can either purchase the `tons' of books available on Shapes and Forms or browse thru the Resource pages of this website and the forum. My advise is to take your time to find out more what Feng Shui can and cannot do and the limitations of each `School'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  15. Thanks for the advice. Clarification was done and the "Only Salt + Water" Cure that I'm required to change every month was to be placed in the ?? position of my house that happens to be the Southeast position. And it's to prevent illnesses like sore throats and also to prevent arguments among the occupants. Again, I spent this afternoon searching the net with no answers..

  16. Dear Catherine, You need to get this issue right here. There is two direction suitability. 1. Eight House suitability ie North - Excellent / Longevity etc. 2. Ba Zi Element ie North - Water etc. The two theories each have its own purpose. Direction element is used on a much larger defination ie facing direction of a House ie faces North so considered a North element house. Whereas, for eight house this is more suitabled to apply in a smaller scale, ie facing direction of your study table / bed, or selecting the best bedroom. The two theories may conflict, but if you apply them as stated above (ie eight house for suitability and small scale division of sectors, while …

    1. Yes, precisely! The trouble with some Feng Shui practitioners is that they merely visit your home for a short duration. And in my opinion, frankly totally irresponsible to ask their client not to use the master bedroom. This is as good as not using the master bedroom and master toilet. 2. There are ways to neutralise what you had mentioned. And based on the star numbers that you have given, one do not need to resort to the earlier advice under Para 1. It is as good as telling you, move out. Try to contact the practitioner and "demand" for a cure for it. As well as to wake him (her) up to the fact that such "cures" suggested is totally unsatisfactory!

  20. Dear Sir 2-7-2005 Kindly advice on the following: 1. House is build in say Period 7 ( Seven) , But Flying Star Anlysis is done in Period 8 (Eight) . Now at this time 7 will be good star or faded star. ( What I mean is take 7 star as auspious in flying star and place no cures or treat as faded star in period 8 and if required place cure). 2. in flying star analysis some author says only see the interaction between a) Water & Mountain Star b) Earth & Water Star c) All Three ( here lies the difficulty that sometimes when you take all the three stars combination becomes very confusing . Then What ?) Post is Long . Apologise for that. J S Gaidu ( India)

Dear Michelle, As a novice, you can feel your way around by doing what you have done... to do check the degree of suitability of your home with your personal `kua' using the Eight House Theory. I am not sure if you have read this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm as it provides a step-by-step guide as how you can `quickly' do a Eight House Audit of your home. In this step-by-step guide the following are what you can do:- 1. Firstly, find the centre of the house. 2. Mark it down on a copy of your house layout plan. 3. Stand in the centre of the house and from this position, use an ordinary compass and find out the direction of the main entrance door. If your door …

  25. Dear Nhan Vo, Frankly, wind chime is useful if placed outside the house or close to the window area. It can be very irritating if you place inside the house especially in your situation. Alternative to a wind chime, you can choose to suitable colour scheme such as White/Gold (Metal) colours to balance up the sector. Alternatively, use the 6 coins with red string as an alternative. But also it depends on what is the other stars in the sector, sometimes if there is a star 6 in the sector, then I don't think the star 5 annual star may be that of a big issue. I think you should consider the implications of a wind chime as it can be very irritation for the family. So instea…
