Dear Cheui May, Yes, I believe there is a controversy amongst some practioners and learners of Feng Shui as to the element type: 1. Derek Walters, in his Feng Shui Handbook believe that electricity is (instead of metal or fire) instead the Water element. This is because of the flow of electric current which `resembles' the movement of water. Instead of water moving, one can imagine electricity flowing through the wires. 2. Some Western Practioners / students believe strongly that it is of the `fire' element. One can go on arguing `forever' and not applease each other or turning into bad blood. 3. While you have pointed out, some argue that it should instead be metal eleme…

Hi, Apologise for the late response. An enhancer is like a object which helps to enhance the location. For example, if you have a mountain star, you normally want to activate it to bring you additional luck. Thus, you activate it with an object to enhance the luck in the location, thus we called it an enhancer. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

In general, most of the materials are acceptable:- 1. Make sure that all chairs are even numbers. 2. If there is a long bench, the long bench is not counted. Only the stools or chairs are counted and should be even numbers. 3. If the dining table is located at a sector that has Flying Star number (s) #5, be more cautious when buying marble top dining tables. 4. Generally, wood, wood with glass; glass with metal are better combinations: Wood with metal is still acceptable. Jolie Q. wrote: Need help picking furniture material. Is there any bad combinations to avoid (metal plus wood?)? What is best for dining room table? Living room coffee table? Home office desk?

These are some considerations: 1. Chinese has it's own palmistry. And often we look at the whole picture and try to figure out an entire hand and categorise it to one of the five elements. 2. Thus a hand with pointed fingers and pointy hands is considered as a fire element. 2.1. While a squarish /rectangularish hand is considered as an earth element etc... 3. My website: http://palmistry.net has some interesting information on the hand. 3.1. In the past, the most respected doctors examined hands and colours etc ... thus this resulted in several well known doctors who were well versed in hand reading. As one of the key elements is that it can tell the health of a person. …

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, plants/trees should be considered of the wood element. This is in-line with the " Five elements " concept where a wood element is described as a "tall narrow" object. 2. Thus, plants and trees generally fit this description of a " wood element ". 3. However, some FS practitioners (I feel) may argue that some plants / fruits grown underground e.g. carrots, tapioca, potatoes etc.. Since these fruits grow underground, I believe, these FS practitioners may then argue that they should be of or belong to the `earth' element. 4. It is felt that one of the concepts of Feng Shui is " if cannot be seen it no longer becomes a threat. " Similarly, if i…

Most people usually don't have the time nor the patience to monitor Flying Stars up to the micro levels. The key success factor is to consider the 20 Year Flying Star and concentrate on this. And the very few look at the Yearly stars. Thus, if the yearly stars together with the 20 year Flying stars are examined, this is often already very good. If one wants to go into the monthly flying stars; then best to consider the most serious star e.g. #5. And for other stars like #3, consider it in-relation to how many of these stars are within the 20 year, year at that sector. Only those with better knowlege can look at it with other stars like #4 etc...
