    Questions about the Chinese calendar

    I have a question regarding which Chinese calendar year a friend of mine was born in. In my research I have found that the year 1976 is the Year of the Dragon. But my friend was born on 1/22/76, which was still technically within the Year of the Rabbit, and the Year of the Dragon did not start until 1/31/76. I am wondering if her birthday falls in the Year of the Dragon or in the Year of the Rabbit? I am want to buy her a birthday gift associated with the year she was born, and I am want to make sure I have the correct Chinese calendar year. (Her birthday just happens to fall on the Chinese New Year this year). I certainly hope someone could help me with this. This is the first site I have found that has a message board. Any help anyone could give me would be most appreciated. Thanks. shellei
