    Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! Just one more question, does the width of the middle landing matter? If it is wide that you might need more than one step within the same level to get to the next step will that count as 2 steps? Or do we just count the vertical steps/levels? In the attached photo, do we count this as 14 steps? Thank you again!!

    U-shaped staircase

    Hello! Just wanted your advise on the staircase we will have for our 3-storey home. The current plan has a U-shaped staircase with 10 steps - landing - 10steps (total of 20) to get to the second floor. From the second floor landing it's another set of 10 steps - landing - 10 steps to get to the third floor. Do we add 2 steps to make it 11+11 = 22? Do we count all the way to the top which will make it 44 steps total? Please help!
