Dear Angeline,
The Feng Shui Encyclopedia contains 500+ pages of extracted Forum Archive which has been edited and re-arranged into topics for easy search and references.
You can access the book offline so that it saves your online cost.
After you download the book, simply have these two free software to help you unpack and read the book:-
1. WinZip - you can download a free version at http://www.winzip.com
2. Adobe Acrobat Reader - you can download a free version of the reader at http://www.adobe.com/acrobat/
Once you have the two software installed into your system, the book can be accessed from your computer and even printed out as a hardcopy.
Hope that helps:)

Dear Patricia,
Regarding Health related problems, it is usually caused by the following:-
1. It could be because you are staying in a bedroom which happens to fall within your bad sectors based in the 4 good and 4 bad directions (Eight House Report).
Most likely you are staying in a bedroom sector which is Death or Disaster. Or sleeping in your Death or Disaster.
If this is the case, you should try to sleep at least in one of your good sectors such as Health or Longevity. Or re-locate yourself in a better bedroom which is one of 4 good sector.
Please use the Free Eight House report to help you determine this.
2. There could be likely a combination of illness/sickness stars (2/5) found in the sector of your bedroom. This could be the cause of the illness you are facing due to the Strong presence of bad Earth Star.
You can use the Flying Star report to help you determine this.
Cures can be placed to counter this problem if this is found to be the cause of your health problem.
3. You could be in a bad health due to the current Luck Period which you are in that is your very bad luck period.
In such cases you can use personal cures such as enhancing your favourable elements to help you reduce this problem.
For example, if you are weak wood, then have more water (blue, black, gray) or more wood (green, brown) to help you enhance your weak wood.
You can use the Free Pillars of Destiny report to help you determine this.
All the report can be found at our My FengShui online website at http://login.geomancy.net
Hope that helps.

Dear Kenny,
1. If you have a house built in period 7 and if the house remains as a Period 7; between 1984 to 2003, the current prosperity wealth stars are #7's either Mountain or Water or like this double #7's.2. Especially under Period 7, a double #7's has what is known as the very auspicious Diagonal Robbery Star 7. Click here to find out more:-
3. In Period 8, if the house still remains as a Period 7 chart.
3.1. From 2004 onwards, the double #7's at the front door becomes past prosperity.3.2. Here, check the chart and try to locate where are the #8's. As the Mountain #8 and Water #8 will be the current prosperity in Period 8.
4. This extract shows a Period 8 Chart. But Period 8 will expire in 2023. But often, the cut-off is not exactly on 2023 but often a few years earlier.
4.1. In Period 8, this double #8's are at South.
4.2. But by 2024 onwards till 2043 , the Water Star #9 will be at NE. While the Mountain Star #9 is at North.

Dear Madan,
Actually, I don't think the chart is as bad as you think. Currently, I generated one paid report based on it, however, as I do not have the hour of birth. I only got the 4 pillar (day, month, year & conception). The missing hour and life pillar may affect the reading further.
However, it looks to me like a chart with certain missing elements.
There might be additional elements revealed from the Life pillar which makes it quite an average chart. with a slightly higher emotional intelligence deity.
I haven't really look through the details as there is a missing hour of birth which will make the reading different from that which you provided anyway.
However here is what the Ten Deities look like:-
Earned Wealth zheng cai Fire 1
Authority zheng guan Earth 0
Main Funds zheng yin Metal 0
Intelligence shang guan Wood 1
Competitor jie cai Water 1
Unexpected Wealth pian cai Fire 1
Determination qi sha Earth 1
Unexpected Funds pian yin Metal 0
Emotional Intelligence shi shen Wood 3
Friend bi jian Water 1
Here is what the Balance of the Five Element looks like:-
3 Water Weak 28 %
3 Wood Strongest 46 %
2 Fire Strong 25 %
0 Earth Extremely Weak 0 %
0 Metal Weakest 0 %
At this stage the missing elements I can find is Earth and Metal which could be found in the Life Pillar.

Was checking the forum for questions missed or still unanswered and found this message.
Here is the reply:-
Generally, sometimes there is very little options for placement of such objects. Anyway, feel free to place them where ever you feel it serves you easily.
Generally, you should be more concerned if say the bedroom where you sleep is not in your 4 good directions or if you are the breadwinner and that the main door is not in your 4 good directions.
Otherwise, on other minor areas such as some object placement, you should be free to be able to decide where you want to place.
In terms of the kitchen, if you really want to be Feng Shui friendly. Then make sure you place the Kitchen equipement in the way that is suits the person frequently using the kitchen. Meaning that you can use the Eight House directions as a guide for placement of objects based on the Eight House of the person using the kitchen.
On your queries. Generally Cooker is creating food for the family. Placing in the south where there is Fire should be ok. As Fire helps you cook the rice. So should not be much problem here as mentioned there are minor considerations.

Generally, it is not very good to have the bedroom door open out directly into the front door.
So few things you can do is keep your door close or to have some kind of partition which blocks the chi from going from the main door directly into the bedroom, it should be allowed to circulate the living room etc before it goes out of the house.
As for your best sleeping direction, you can make use of the Bed and Bedroom position free report found in the My FengShui (http://login.geomancy.net) and see where is the best placement for your bed / bedroom position.
Sometimes you may have not much chooce for the placement as your bedroom is limited in size, so if you cannot adjust your bed.
Just make sure that at least you are sleeping in the bedroom which is favourable to you and if you are the breadwinner to have the house hopefully in one of your 4 good directions based on the Eight House report.
Hope that helps.

In order to know what is the best colour, you need to know what is your true birth element.
For example, if you are a strong Wood, then the few colours that are good for you are based on your favourable elements.
Favaourable Colours for strong Wood is Fire and Metal, so colours are red, white / gold. For example.
So you have to use the Pillars of Destiny report in the My FengShui website (http://login.geomancy.net) to help you determine your true birth element.Quoteget a bit tired and find it

Report a. will tell you whether North is one of your 4 good direction or 4 bad directions.
If it is your good direction, then on a general note the house suits you very well. Otherwise if it is your bad direction, then it is not good for you. Especially if the bad is Death or Disaster which is most unfavourable to you.
Report b. will tell you your birth element. Eg. wood person.
Given North house facing is Water element. Water produces Wood, so it is good for a wood person.

Dear Shelly,
Sorry, I don't understand here why you must counter the Metal. Even if you are say a weak wood, it is not necessary to be so specific and get rid of all Metal objects.
You will need a little of all elements in your life (good or bad elements). What you need is to balance everything else.
This means that for example if you are a weak wood. Then simply enhance yourself by wearing more Water based element colour that will help offset the balance.
If you are refering to East bing Wood element direction or influence, and that the Metal will disturb it, I think you have nothing to worry as the objects when compared to directional influence, is of no great importance or threat as it occupies a small area in the room.
Not necessary to counter everything. In what you have mentioned below, I personally do not see why you need to move the sets away.
Usually when we do something in Feng Shui it is for a specific purpose. However, normally cures are placed in such a way it will be sufficient to create a balance without having to remove the problem at all. Everything should be able to co-exist together with a little of what I call a "binding" element.
I think before you do anything, you must really know what and why you are doing it.
Hope that helps.

Dear Angeline,QuoteLike to check with you on the
above subject.
I superimposed the Luo Shu
numbers on our floor plan
based on a Period 7 house. We
found that the kitchen has
numbers 5 and 6 and we know
that 5 is the bad Earth Five
Yellows. Does that mean we
are supposed to avoid yellow
and brown (wood)color so that
it will not destroy Earth
element? And to enhance the
area, we can use Fire
Elements. Then again, 6 is
the Metal Element and we are
suppose to avoid Fire Element.
I'm pretty confused, oh no,
did I mixed up all my
Elements?
Well, in order to know this you have to understand how the Flying Star works and know how to analyse the details of the numbers. It is best to use the anlaysis from teh Flying Star report if you are not sure how to do it yourself.
Generally, you have to relate the two MS and WS and then later to the base star to know whether the sector is good or bad, and not simply just based on one or two star numbers that are found in the sector.
For example if the sector is 656 then the sector is not so bad even with the star 5. However, if it is 528 then you will be in a lot more trouble.
At this point, the easiest way is to apply a little of your Five element knowledge to the numbers to at least give you some understanding of the relationship.QuoteHow do I go about applying the
Elements for the whole house
after obtaining the Luo Shu
Numbers? Can I use the
Characteristics of the Five
Elements to enhance or prevent
the destruction.
You can do that, as that is part of the analysis method, in addition you need to know the Nine Stars explanation as well as th 81 unique interpretation to tell for sure whether the sector is good or bad.
However, if you understand the Five Element properly, you should be able to deduce whether the sector is good or bad.
However, if you are really unsure, please use the Flying Star report to assist you.
Warmest Regards
Robert LeeQuoteWe value and appreciate yr
advice on the above matter.

Cecil,
Great site! Lots of good info.
I am in the mid of balancing
my house according to your
flying star report.
Most of the report suggested a
lot of Metal cures, with the
exception of NW using Wood
cure.
Yes, you see most of the problems stars are usually Wood or Earth. Metal is thus the most commonly used cure for either of the Wood or Earth cure.Quote1) Does that mean whereever a
Metal cure is proposed, we
should not put a plant there,
like Water-Mountain (3,2) with
base star 5? Even though the
plant is hiding a poison arrow
in that corner?
This is not necessary. It does not mean that at all. You can have the existing items in place such as Plants. Because in one way of looking at it Plants are wood. In the Five element relationship, Wood does also help to destroy Earth. Although, the more recommended cure is Metal because the problem star 2 or 5 is usually of Strong Earth, and Metal is the best to exhaust suchh elements.
So it does not mean that you should remove all Wood elements in the sector. Simply adding the Metal cure will help to balance the sector.Quote2) If there's a triple
comination which provides a
cure with the base star, like
(5,9) with base star 3, do I
still need to use the proposed
Wood cure, or I don't need to
do anything?
Usually, if there is a Triple Combination, you can ignore the use of any cure, because the sector itself has the necessary stars to combat the problem.
But there is no harm if you wish to add a little more cure based on the suggested problems as sometimes when the yearly star comes into the sector the influence may be out of balance again.Quote3) For metal cures, can I put
silver/bronze/golden vases and
decorations in that sector, or
is it better to use
traditional cures, such as the
coins? If so, how do I
obtain/make them?
So far we find that the 6 metal coins tied with red string or placed on a red packet is rather effective, simply because the number 6 represent Strong Metal. While the coins is Metal which adds further strength to the Metal element. The red thread or red packet is Fire element which helps to destroy Metal which in this case Metal is considered Strong Metal, so it helps to control and bind the Metal from being overly strong.
So because of this is considered the most effective cure as compared to using say 6 rod wind chime which brings in other side effects etc.
Simply, the more effective is to have the Chinese coin the circle coin with Square in the middle as it allows a red thread to be tied through it. However, if you can't find it simply get 6 coins of same value and size and place them on a red packet. This will do just fine.
You can put the metal vase as it is Metal represented but when compared to the significance of the traditional cure, it is less effective.Quote4) According to the report for
the period, I would have to
remove a lot of plants (Wood)
in most of my house where
Metal cures were proposed, the
house seem kinda empty and
baron without them. But that
is the right way to do it,
correct?
Actually, the report does not specify that you have to remove your existing plants. Yes, when it meant that there is a strong presents of Wood, it does not mean that your plants have to go.
Plants are two element based, Wood and Earth. So it is not considered 100% wood element.
All you need to do is simply to create balance in the house by adding what is recommended to the house. That will do.
Hope that helps:)QuoteThanks in advance,
Kolsan

Regarding this Analysis of the Grand Duke 2001 by Zheng Dan.
Most of the analysis are correct as he as based it on the Ba Zi Feng Shui concepts of the clashes / Harms / Punishments which occurs between each of the 12 animal signs.
This is just another good example of how powerful Ba Zi Feng Shui can be.
Usually, any clash / harms / punishments will often result in some problem unless of course there are sometimes "good clashes" / "good harms" / "good punishments".
Though often, most of the clashes are usually bad unless they help to reduce the unfavourable elements.

Translated Chinese Article written by Zheng Dan:-
" This Snake Year (2001) has Four Major Animal Sign / Earthly Branches
offends the Grand Duke (Tai Sui). "
This Snake Year sees many animal signs offending the Grand Duke due to the
Snake Year which is represented by its "si" Earthly Branch under the Pillars
of Destiny. They are the Pig/Boar, Tiger, Snake and Monkey animal signs.
There are three categories of Grand Duke:-
(i) Direct Conflict with Grand Duke (Zhi Tai Sui)
Snake is in Direct Conflict with Grand Duke, meaning that this year will
result in making rash and/or irrational decisions and/or actions. The
character "Zhi" represents harm / danger, with temper in such a way that
once you blow up there is no way to stop or correct your mistake.
Usually the Grand Duke is in motion. However, during the Direct Conflict
with Grand Duke the stars does not move much. Because of this it causes a
unnatural influence creating problems.
Besides the Snake animal sign that is in conflict, those whose surnames
bears Guo, Yang, Wu, Xu, Zheng are also in conflict, plus those who names
contains ya-something etc. (Please refer to the actual Chinese characters
for accuracy)
(ii) Clash with Grand Duke (Chong Tai Sui)
The most severe clash is the Pig/Boar. This is because the Year of the Snake
clash with Pig ("si" clash with hai"). This is because of the hidden stem
"geng" (Metal) in the "si" (Snake) destroys the "jia" (Wood) in the "hai"
(Pig/Boar), and "wu" (Earth) controls "ren" (Water), making "hai" (Pig/Boar)
lose its balance and fall down. This results in changes for the Pig, such as
moving house, migration, changing jobs and feeling nervous of changes.
Rather unlucky and likely to have lots of health problems, and traffic
accidents.
Pig/Boar is represented by "hai". Because of the Chinese characters on the
left of the word Pig/Boar (in chinese) looks similiar to the word "jia"
(Family), and the character "hai" is part of the right hand side of the
character "hai" (Children), thus it means that Family and Children also
clash with the Grand Duke.
Surnames such as Wu, Xie, Gua also clash Grand Duke, plus a few specific
names such as ya bao, ya cheng, ya shou etc (Please refer to the actual
Chinese characters for accuracy)
(iii) Punishment with Grand Duke (Xing Tai Sui)
Tiger Animal Sign is in Punishment with Grand Duke. while Monkey is in one
of the 6 join combination with Snake, therefore is not a serious Punishment
combination, but it must try to counter the Grand Duke to bring luck.
Punishment with Grand Duke means many obstructions, bringing gossips or
lawsuits related problems, therefore much prevent.
Surnames Hui, Zhang, He are also in punishment, plus names like ya guang, ya
dian, ya chao etc. (Please refer to the actual Chinese characters for
accuracy)
The method to cure / counter Grand Duke is to add a Grand Duke Tablet in
your Home's Ancestor / Worship Altar or simply worship to Grand Duke for
forgiveness.
" Worship Grand Duke on the 8 day of the Chinese Lunar New Year "
In this Snake Year:-
(i) Pig/Boar sign is in Clash with Grand Duke
(ii) Snake sign is in Direct Conflict with Grand Duke
(iii) Tiger and Monkey who is in Punishment with Grand Duke
Monkey who forms a 6 join combination with snake is the least serious of the
four animal signs.
Those born in 1935, 1950, 1959, 1968, 1977, 1986, 1995 are regarded as Grand
Duke Followers should avoid seeking the source of illness problems.
Those who offends grand duke need not worry. China has a culture / method to
cure Grand Duke offenders. Besides worshipping or praying to the Grand Duke
for forgiveness, you can reduce the problems by praying to the grand duke on
the 8 day of the Chinese Lunar New Year between morning 7 to 9 and from
afternoon 5 to 7.

Dear Kathlee,
It is only bad when placed in locations where there is inauspicious flying star (which will create more inauspicious influence).
It is also bad for bedroom when the mirror can be seen when you are say lying on the bed or when you get out of the bed. This is partially due to the "shock" you may get when you first get up still not awake. Seeing an image of yourself can create a shock which is bad for yourself.
Otherwise, having a mirror which is used say when dressing or inside the wardrobe hidden when not in used is not really an issue.
Warmest Regards

in General Help
Hi Bharat Mayani,
Generally, your problem here is regarding door facing each other. Well, generally for such situation most of the only cures you can use is really to put a bagua on the door.
However, personally what exactly are problems you have with your current situation?
Is it that you often have conflicts with your neighbour? It looks to me like the neighbour is basically not around most of the time.
So what other problems are you actually facing?
If there is nothing, then basically nothing much to worry about. There is a saying that goes if nothing is broken do not try to fix it.
If you facing problems with areas such as financial or sickness then, you should look more within the house. So unless you have a specific problem to solve personally don't really know how or what to advice you on.
But based on what you have provided, you need to cure only when you have problems with your neighbour otherwise you can leave it.
Hope that helps:)
Warmest Regards

Hi Henry,
Generally a wind chime should have hung on the outside rather than inside.
However, please take note about wind chimes as different number or rods or the type of materials the rods are made of can greatly have an impact if hung at the wrong location of the house.
Usually wind chimes can be used as a cure to cure different problems. But if hung at wrong locations where the elements are not needed etc, may cause more problems than good.
Warmest Regards

Hi,
Generally, you should not have any object blocking your main door, as it will divert or split away the Qi (C'hi) from flowing into the house through the main door.
Also, if you can see the threat it is often considered a poison arrow.
However, may I ask how long have you moved into the house. And whether since you move in did you encounter any problems? One way to see if the tree is really bad or not is to see if you have any major problems (sickness, accident etc.)
Also wether or not you should cut down the tree also depends very much on whether it helps you block other more dangerous poison arrow.
For example if there a street lamp behind the tree, then the tree actually helps you block the Sha Qi from the lamp post.
You should check out the surrounding after the tree to see if there are any other such more dangerous poison arrow.
In another way to look at it, having a tree direction in front of the main door is not very good due to say if a lighting strikes onto the tree and it collapse, there is a high chance it will fall onto the house, thus not very good either.
But you have to decide to see if there are any other poison arrow it helps to deflect before you decide whether to cut it down or not.
Warmest Regards
