I will not recommend the 5 rod wind chimes partially due to the 5 and wind chimes are known for bring other influence. (Please search the forum for more details about why wind chimes should not be used).
You can only active the star if the area is neutralise (eg. your 6 coins) and if it falls in a bedroom with the direction having no windows. Please see extract in the next para.

This is a very interesting question you have put up so let me explain a little here.
Flying Star is an extremely powerful tool that can apply to:-
- a plot of land
- a house or building
- a single house or apartment unit
- a small room
1. Usually, our website focuses on the single house or apartment unit. This means taking the main door of the house.
This is because we want to find the birth chart of the house which belongs to the owner.
Thus, we ask all users to find the most accurate direction of the main door.
2. However, flying star can also be used for analysis of the entire building itself. Similarly, it can also take the reading for the house and the exterior. (Meaning a Plot of land with the house)
So depending on which reading you wish to anlayse you take the main entrance based on the main door, main entrance of building, main entrance to the plot of land etc.
So you see the term house facing can be defined in a few manner. However, on our website we focus on the interior analysis of the house itself thus the facing of the house is often taken as the main door facing.

So in general, there can be several facing directions / frontage.
Some common frontage are:
- based on the main door (true house facing)
- based on the view of the living room for example (virtual house facing which you can see but cannot enter or exit)
- based on the house facing (this is where the door can be located on a different direction as compared to the house direction), etc.
Each can be used depending on what you are looking for. In the flying star for a house you need to take the true house facing. In the flying star for the plot of land you need to take the house or land facing. In relation to shapes and forms and flow of Qi, then you may need to take the virtual house facing.
Normally, when you relate to flying star it helps to determine the influence of the house only. Thus you need to know the flow of Qi (C'hi) based on the main door.
But when you take a broader view where shapes and forms of the plot of land is also considered, then often you take the frontage of the house as the good view from the living room for example.
Thus, when a house main door faces the pool on the exterior of the building it is considered good. Similarly if your frontage based on the living room also faces the pool it is also good.
So how you use them very much depends on what you want to analyse. All are not wrong, but you need to know when to use for ehich portion.

Normally, we advise the use of the side door for those users who already have an existing house with a main door which is not suitable for them to use the alternative side door especially if it is better.
However, if you have not purchase a house, it would still be better if you find a house with the main door as the best direction rather than use the alternative side door.

Personally, as I mentioned although you can use the side door as the main door. However, since you have not purchase the house yet, why not look for another better one which has the main door as the best location.
There are several double 7 etc houses available in a few different direction. But you must also take note that you have to get the optimium benefit, as the suitability of the house to the owner is also equally important than a double 7 influence.
There are some people because of say the double 7 occurs together with that breadwinner's death or disaster sector, then even how good the double 7 is, the breadwinner is not suitable to it.
So in such a case, it is often better to get another non-double combination but results in auspicious sector, with suitable direction and favourable ba zi house element.

Normally what factors to look for are for:-

relation to your Eight House and 24 Ba Zi Direction to determine the various
excellent location for your main door.
For example, after the analysis it will tell you that N2, NW2, E3 type of
houses are excellent house for you. Then while you are searching for a new
home, you would than want to look for any house which has the main door
falling within the direction defined by N2 (0 degree). This will greatly
reduce the time you need to actually analyse each house as you find.
By knowing this in advance for example N2 (double 7 with suitable facing
direction etc). Then you eliminate the other houses which does not fit your
requirements. Then when you come to the few N2 direction house, you can then
use for example the Eight House to see which of the N2 direction layout has
a bedroom which falls into the good sector for you.

4. Bedroom that is good for you
After you have point 2 & 3, you must then find a house which the bedroom
falls under the any of the 4 good sector. This will ensure further
suitability to you.
Once you can find a house that can cover point 1 to 4. Then you will have
already identify the ideal house for you.
After you have narrowed down to the few units which you like, then you can
decide the house you wish to buy and do a detailed Flying Star analysis of
the home to solve all the imbalances and activate/enhance the good sectors.
Only by than will the house layout come in properly.

Flying Star cannot be analysed star by star.
It should always be analysed as a combination of the two stars or best still the entire sector by itself.
Often it is the 1-2-3, 6-2-4 etc, when the stars come together then you can analyse the whether they are auspicious and then provide a cure, activation etc to activate it etc.
For example even if 8 mountain is not a bad star. However, if it comes with number 5 it becomes an inauspicious sector. But if it comes with 1 for example, it will be considered a little better.
So if you only based on the star 8 and want to make activation etc without carefully considering the other stars in the sector you will only do more harm if you accidentally activate this star which happens to bring strength to a bad star.
Just like in your example, just because star 7 comes in a sector as a form of water star, you use a fountain, but what if the sector combination does is not favour water? You will end up doing more harm than good.
So all I can tell you here is that for the star on the left it is considered the mountain star so it can only be activated by a strong backing. How and whether or not to activate it depends on the sector itself.
Flying Star is an extremely powerful tool can if used incorrectly can create more harm than good. It is one of the Feng Shui area which you can greatly change the influence of the sector. If it is correctly done, you can enjoy a lot from the changes, but if it is wrongly done, it can also cause great harm.

1. The living room.
2. Preferably, it should not face inwards especially facing a toilet, the kitchen or the bedroom.
3. It should also not be placed on the same wall as the toilet.
4. Not place it in the bedroom.
5. In the living room, a good location is to place it on a display shelf or decorative shelf.
6. It can be placed in the dining room area i.e. on a display shelf there.
