Two-piece, Three-piece Mirror? OK?
Try to use a single piece (ONE) or (THREE) piece mirror as shown in the attachment. Avoid placing exactly two pieces of mirror at the dining table area. Often for convenience, the contractor will arrange for a two piece mirror to be installed. Most likely, if the wall is too large, it may either not be possible to bring up a single piece through the lift or even from the staircase. Alternatively, it only takes a few minutes to bring upa two piece mirror via the lift. However, two pieces of mirrors is considered inauspicious as the line"cuts" exactly the middle of the dining table. Thus symbolic of a "split" or food when placed on the table is cut into-half.

Bad Kitchen Placement
1. Usually it is difficult to provide an exact comment based simply on several lines of text. 2. You mentioned that the door is NW. Do a search under this forum and you can find discussions or concerns of a kitchen located within NW. 3. Usually a picture of the ocean on the wall is not good for Feng Shui of the kitchen unless: the kitchen is located in the South compass direction of a home. In general it is worse off if the picture is located in the North compass direction of a home. If in doubt, remove it, first. 4. Frankly, it is never good to do just piecemeal or "fast food" feng shui as many other considerations such as drawing up a Flying Star chart; knowing your stove's facing and sitting position are critical key success factors. 5. If you are going to DIY, then do find out more. For example, since your current specific topic is on the kitchen, try to do a SEARCH e.g. in this forum for the word "kitchen". And try to browse thru all the real-life real-people questions and replies on this topic. Quote: Colleen K. wrote: My kitchen is very small and has all the wrong elements and I need to know how to fix them. The kitchen is in the shape of a rectangle, the door is NW, a wall is on the SE (a picture of the ocean on the wall with a door to the right facing the wall and a short hall to dining area to the left), the West is the sink and on the East is the Stove and refrigerator - both in a corner. I have pictures of frogs in wood frames (4 of them) above the sink and other wood objects on the wall on the right and left of the kitchen door. What feng shui remedy can I use for this area? FS Combination
1. Please refer to your para 1. Taking up a proper Flying Star course with any specific master will often give you the breakdown of such things as the 81 combinations which you had described under "often quoted in the fomat of e.g. 1-2 or 1.2. " And you will certainly learn more. 2. Please refer to your para 2. Yes, if you have the time to read e.g. the forum messages you will find examples like : NW = Head of the house (male breadwinner) and such things like "fire at heaven gate" etc.... If you have studied some of the reasources; even in every season, earth is abundance and earth occurs in every season except that they occur at every "low" of each season or when the season is about to change to another season. By the way, earth occupies the centre palace. Quote: Recently i've been studying FS and kind of confused by some of the theories inside. Hope that u can enlighten me. Please forgive my ignorance. Trying to master the basics. Thank for your attention. Understand that different combination of stars coexist in any of the 9 palaces will have different effects, either good or bad. Is there any neutral effect?Have been reading some FS table stating what FS combination will have what implications on the homeowners and the combination is often quoted in the fomat of e.g. 1-2 or 1.2. May i know what do the 1st no. and 2nd no. indicate? understand we can study the combination of water&mountain stars, waterstars&time stars, mountain stars & time stars, etc. Does the sequence of the combination matters i.e. themountain star - water star vs water star - mountain star? Understand each trigram will have an effect on certain ppl in the family e.g. "kan" on the middle son. and since star 5 does not have trigram, does this mean it will affect everyone in the family?

house numbers vs. house location...
1. Please take note that the module for Flying Star House Number analysis, has mentioned that it is meant for high-rise buildings NOT LANDED property. 2. The Apartment number analysis takes into account that qi at different storeys (floors) differs. Thus an apartment that is at 5th storey may differ in qi from another that is say at 8th storey etc... 3. Thus you have used a module for the wrong purpose. 4. In terms of ranking or priority, I would be more concerned where the kitchen (stove) is located. Although a stove facing the sink is not the best, but can be "easily" remedied. 5. For landed property, key success factors include at which location water (drainage) exits a home etc...... 6. In addition, part of the home seems to be directly facing road, plus the home is not exactly rectangular ....... Quote: Hi Master Lee, We are making a huge step in our lives:making an offer on a new house on 7/20/08. We founda houseand I tried the Flying star house numbers:I entered 9361 and 2004-2023. Interpretation said prosperity and good wealth. Will that be only for this period? Also, here is a pic of the layout---Lot 27 (builder was suppose to have a different house built thereso the shape of the house is different from thesitemap). The problem/s I see is that the stove is facing the kitchen sink. Another problem I see, I'm not sure of not, the powder room with toilet is at the center of the house?? also, the house is somewhat near but not directly atthe t-section. Main Entry is facing north; kitchen is facing east. I know the house numbers are good---but will that somehow help with the layout situation/problems? any cures? somewhere in the forum, I saw a cure of the sink/stove (place a small mirror behind the stove and a small mirror behind the sink...) please let me know if this will work because I don't think we'll have money left for renovating a new house. would really appreciate any advice you give.Thank you very much!

Main door or Facing direction?
1. Yes, the key concept is to locate the "mouth" of a home. This mouth is considered vital as it allows qi to meander into the home. 2 A "mouth" needs to be opened, not all the time but at least, like a door or windows; need to open at least several times a day. Imagine, physically we have a mouth but never open it? Not even for food or water throughout the day? 3. You mentioned: "But these windows are never opened (due to extreme heat outside). what then?" Thus this set of windows if it is "sealed" for life does not "qualify" as the mouth of the home. 4. Your best bet is the other set of windows or the main door. But in my opinion, it looks more pronouced to use the other"set of windows" since you mentioned that there is darkish hallway. And a darkish hallway, is bad -- as it is to encourage "vibrant qi" to enter thru the main door. 5. Many Feng Shui practitioners do advise their clients to "switch" to the use of certain windows and even to close some so that qi can be manipulated into the home. Something like an "artificial" or secondary mouse. Anonymous wrote: I am quite confused about which direction to use for analysing a natal chart of house. i have read some posts but still not clear. If main door is the mouth and chi flows in through here so obviously this should be used to establish the flying stars chart. Yet what if this is a flat with darkish hallway but the windows of the lounge face the street and sea and let in more light? But these windows are never opened (due to extreme heat outside). what then? I am trying to figure whether to use the windows which is NE3 or the door SW3. would appreciate any advice, Thanks.

Matchmaking agency - which element?
In general, match-making involves co-ordination and "growth" thus can come under "wood" element. Dating is a process of getting to know, and trying (hopefully) to build a permanent relationship. Thus, since it involves also "building" a relationship, it can also be considered under the "wood" element. In a relationship, the act of quarrelling has to do with the "fire element". Apartment Center
It is always good to "visualise" roughly where - if possible the closest point to or the exact location of the "centre of gravity" of a home. If one is totally not sure, then, try to paste a copy of the layout plan on a cardboard. Then cut-out the outline of the entire layout plan. Then try to balance the entire layout plan onto a piece of nail. (If one can visualise, your original centrepoint in my opinion, will most likely not be balanced on a pin or nail point. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Thank for your prompt reply. Based on your suggestion, you have ignored the contributing factor of the BEDROOM 3 into the determination of the centerpoint. May i know when we should include protrusions and when they should be included in our centrepoint determination? Thank for your advice .

earth luck: flyng star (xuan kong) house
Yes it is possible to use water in a sector with water star #8 and base #5. Quote: Anonymous wrote: my house is a period 7 house with SE1 facing. Thanks!

Which do you consider my mom's real birthdate
1. Definitely, one has to use the most accurate birth date or our "real birthdate". Frankly, after so many years, in this line, I have yet to come across, such an (obvious) question. 2. Frankly, this is very common; especially in the past: Singapore, Malaysia and many other countries. Many elderly said that they were born on such and such a date. But, as they live in rural area, their birth was registered e.g. at a police post a few days or even months. Quote: Katrina L. wrote: According to my mom, her real birthdate is January 11, 1939 BUT her birth certificate was burned along with other birth certificates in the city hall of her province. When she applied for a new one - she applied for it when she was a teenager; she put 1940 as her birth year. So since then, her new birth certificate states january 11, 1940. In fact, all important documents from passport to bank certificates etc. state her "new" birth date as january 11, 1940. My question is, for purpose of feng shui and computation, shall I use her real birthyear which 1939 OR shall I use her new birthyear which she has been using for several decades now - which is 1940

Apartment Center
1. Attached, please see the proposed centrepoint. Which I believe would be "closer" to the centre of gravity of the home. Highlighted in Yellow are considered protrusions. 2. Yes, one way is to close the main entrance door when not in use or close some of the window planes. However, if or should the main door have excellent qi such as double #8's then, sometimes, it would be good to let qi come in thru the main entrance area. Again, this depends on the type of flying star numbers at either the main door or directly opposite window(s).

Gate facing each other
Traditionally, this "clash" does not affect one's wealth. Especially if both neighbour's and your main entrance does not face each other directly. It may be considered to affect relationship with the "neighbour". Thus, if your company does not have any direct dealings with the opposite neighbour, then, no major issue. Anonymous wrote: We are building our office. We are on the last part of the construction and we noticed that our gate is directly opposite our neighbors gate. I know that gates facing each other is not very lucky, what do we do? Should we put a wall instead? But if we do put a wall, then we would have no garage. Help.

Storm drain in front of the house
No, as it is covered up. The test is usually, from inside the compound of the home, can one see the drainage. For all landed properties, often, there are two exit points that "will bring wealth" depending on whether water flows to the left or right of the house. And often, a third exit point can bring "power and authority" to the home owner. If not sure, try to seek expert help from a Feng Shui professional. Quote: Anonymous wrote: We are building a new house, there is a storm water drain in front of it. Please look at the pictureand let me know if this is good or bad, will itcreate any ill effects? Is our house still period 6 or now under period 8?
No, the amount of renovation done may not be considered as being flown to Period 8. Katrina L. wrote: Cecil, This year: 1.we changed some part of the roof since the roof is old and we have been experiencing leaks from the rain. 2. changed the kitchen floor tiles and painted a new color on the walls of the kitchen 3. painted new color on the walls of the master's bedroom which we now turned into gym room 4. painted new color on the walls of the living and dining rooms. So, would you consider our house newly renovated and now under period 8? Or is our house still under period 6? Please advice. Thanks!

Meaning of base star numbers in flying stars?
Frankly, if you are so interested especially in Flying Star numbers, please go and take up a course on it. Katrina L. wrote: Cecil, What does each base star number represent? I only know that base star number 1 represents water. How about the other base star numbers? What is the significance of each base star? How does it affect each sector of the house? Is it less important than the mountain star number and water star number? I know these are a lot of Qs again. Hope you can further explain to me. Thanks much.

orange, lemon trees & fountain front house
1. Planting an orange or lemon tree has more to do with modern western "practises" than traditional Feng Shui. 2. In addition, especially during the communist take-over of China, many Chinese fled to either Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Far East. 3. In the far east, especially in Singapore and Malaysia, the climate is too warm to support both orange and lemon trees. 4. You mentioned:".... it said something about husband will have a roving eye when you placewater feature on the right side (your inside looking outside)." I believe if you do a SEARCH in this forum, you can find lots of articles or past forum message(s) on this topic and/or check out some of the "preventive" measure(s) available. For info, some of such messages are as recent as late last year to this year! Quote: hi, i read from a book that if you want to activate your wealth luck, you could plant an orange or lemon tree in the front of your house. would like to find out if this is true. also, in the same book, i would like to find out if the placement of a fountain outside the main door important?it said something about husband will have a roving eye when you placewater feature on the right side (your inside looking outside). just want to make sure i placemy fountain correctly. best wishes!

6 coins to cure sickness star and five yellow star
1. It is good to hear u have an airconditioner with the ion cluster (often the settings include "shooting out" all negative ions, or " a blast of positive plus negative ions). 2. Try to go for the modern method. However, if one is concerned with aircon bills, then there are relatively good "air-cleaners". No point having an aircon, with such a feature and if the aircon is rarely use. 3. Imagine, how wonderful it would be like if one can stay near the vicinity of a water-fall such as Nigara falls or Victoria falls. (Not so much of people jumping down them to commit suicide; but rather) the idea of a waterfall is that such "furious" water frictions with the air to create negative ions. And such negative ions, are charged to attract the "bad" positive ions. And for those who have visited a water fall can relatively feel the coolness and in particular the nice smell. 4. Thus, having a air cleaner that dispenses negative ion is the next best thing. 5. All the past messages that you had digged up are really "old symbolic" concepts. Why dwell with the past, "low tech solution" when there are better ones evolving - that are scientific and proven vs.. old sentimental ones... 6. For example, we have using the computing power of servers to generate complexed ba zi ... rather than spent the "stupid " time working them out.. But yet not even close to begin to analyse them! 7. I appeal to you not to drag up all - old and very old stuffs... If you read in-between the "lines" messages in the early 2000's technologies such as hepa cleaners etc... have already being emphasised more and more. And don't waste time buying "rubbish" fake commercial "in-the-name" of Feng Shui products.. inclusive those ridicious "Feng Shui jewellry " and "god given products... "

Can salt cure suppress #2 and #5 stars?
Please refer to my most recent reply to your last message. In modern times, with our knowlege of what positive and negative ions can and cannot do. And with the common use of silver nano technology - found in some high end washing machines and even can be found embedded into plastic containers... ain't these a better bet than relying on "older" Feng Shui cures? Katrina L. wrote: Hello Cecil, I am wondering if we can use the salt cure to suppress the #2 illness and #5 yellow star? Thanks.

6 coins to cure sickness star and five yellow star
1. The most common method today to supress #2 is as mentioned, below Para 1. 2. For #5 or if that sector has a #5 with #9 with/or #2 or any two or more of these combinations, Para 1. may not be sufficient. 3. Nowadays, hepa cleaners e.g. those quality ones by Honeywell or Sharp with their plasma ion cleaners are even better security against #2 ; #5 respectively. At the time of writing (those donkey years ago as far back as 1999 or earlier, such sophisticated cleaners are often meant only for hospitals or clinics costing as much as $988 dollars. Nowadays, many of these "cleaners" are reasonably priced and even come as part of or built into air-conditioners. 4. Thus it is more worthwhile to invest in these "scientific proven" units than many past practises. 5. As mentioned in several past messages, if one's bedroom is directly above the kitchen or garage, it is better to invest in smoke detectors than hanging say a set of coins. The detector, can safe life as it's siren can hopefully wake one up. While a set of coins, can only melt together with the entire family or person in that specific room. 6. Thus, with the event of better and cheaper "proven" technology, we should try to engulf or use them instead of the old traditional "symbolic" methods. Feng Shui also has to change with times! Quote: Katrina L. wrote: Hello Cecil, I've been reading the really old threads and you mentioned that one cure for the sickness star and five yellow star is: 1. place 6 ancient Chinese coins tied with a red string on the wall on that sector. 2. a `simple' 6 coins arranged in two rows x 3 coins is scotched tape onto a red envelope and placed on the curtain (mid-point of the window. http://www.geomancy.net/resources/slideshow/ss-6coins.htm So any of these two ways of arranging the 6 coins will suppress the illness star and five yellow star? remedies of a room with the annual illness star?
Yes, definitely, as you have already noted, the significance of each #number is different under Period 8. Quote: However, in the past 5 years, I've been sickly. I wonder if this has to do with period 8 which started in 2004 and will end in 2024.

True Center of house...also water fountain?
You can still use the proposed centrepoint and extend this to the family room. The rationale is because your "extended" room is tiny compared to larger spaces. However, if your "extended" room size is larger than 1,000 sq feet, then you can determine the centrepoint separately for this room.

Middle house
Further to what I had mentioned, in a case of a middle house or even shop-house, but if this middle shop-house is facing a T junction, then it will be affected by bad qi. Please see picture, under the url below:- http://www.geomancy.net/events/ExxonMobil_FS_Talk/em_talk_1_slide_21.htm
-
Middle house
1. Please refer to the example, below:- http://www.geomancy.net/events/ExxonMobil_FS_Talk/em_talk_1_slide_34.htm 2. It does not matter if the house is in the middle or at the side (or end). What matters is the shape and forms of the entire development. 3. In the above example, the corner unit home is entrapped by a higher "hills". Such a house can come to no good. 4. The bungalow house, at the lower, benefits from the entire terrace house due to the slope. Thus here, everyone in the entire row, may have their wealth drained towards the bungalow, house. 5. Thus the morale of the story is that there is no hard and fast rule as to what you had mentioned. 6. In fact, some of the principles of Shapes and Forms, has described the way a set of three homes on a plot of land in different configuration and the consequences on one or three of the units. Some consequences leads to "death" of the breadwinner. Some of these info, I remembered posting as far back in this forum as 1998. In one of these forum messages, I had cited a home sandwiched by two other homes at different levels. And a user, here also claimed that death had occured in such a home... 7. However, usually if all three homes are on the same level, same row and same height, have to look at qi in front of and the back of each plot for a valid assessment of concerns if any. Usual concerns include, T junctions, lamp posts, street signages - slicing the main door/gate or windows etc... etc... Quote: Anonymous wrote: I just heard from a neighbour that it not good feng shui for a middle house as it bears the burden. For terrace houses in a particular street, is it refering to the middle house of that particular road, even though there are lanes between the blocks? or is it refering to the house in the middle of each block?

remedies of a room with the annual illness star?
1. Frankly if the sector only has a lone #2 not withstanding other stars which may already reduce it such as #6 etc... 2. #2 can be neutralised easily with one or two items. No need to overkill with so many "metallic" objects, there. 3. In case I forgot, to neutralise a sector especially with just one #5 (again not looking at the other two variables : Water / Mountain or even Base star) a modern analog "metallic" look clock can help to neutralise it say on the wall.

True Center of house...also water fountain?
1. Please attachment to determine the actual centre of the home. This centrepoint corresponds also to the 2nd storey. 2. Although a proper assessment should be made to determine whether the water fountain is acceptable. However, under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, this water feature at the frontage of the main entrance is considered auspicious as it creates a "BRIGHT HALL" or "Ming Tang" at the frontage. 3. Such a "clear space" or bright hall is particularly good for qi to congregate at the frontage of the home. Thus from a Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is considered very good. Good homes always have some clear space at the frontage to "collect" qi. Quote: My questions are as follows: 1. Due to the unique floorplan, the extension of the garage, master bathroom, and the courtyard, I am not quite sure how I can determine the actual center of the home. 2. Also, there is a large decorative water fountain directly in front of the main door in the courtyard. I've denoted this on the floor plan as a grey circle. Is this bad feng shui?
