Confusion on changing Period 7 to Period 8
Dear Riccia, Please see below:- No you do not need to change the enitre roof. Yes, remove (not one) but a few pieces - during daylight hours to let light into the home. And as a precaution, or safeguard, do some cleaning of the roof tiles. This one on gardening is "suspect". The main door is the mouth of the home and this is OK. Another method is to have "activity" e.g. a party or function. Overall, all these influence, often does not take effect immediately i.e. the new influence kicks in often after 6 to 9 months, later. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Moles on foot sole
Dear Rachel, Frankly, there is not much material (if any) with regards to moles on the foot. The only "interesting" ones are those where the moles form a formation, similar to those of the stella constelation. But very (very) rare. And, perhaps, found only in story lines in some Chinese shows. From a commonsense approach, if your mole is flat (and not protruding), then, there is relatively no harm. But if it becomes thick and hard, then, it is best to be removed as it could affect the sole (which bears) the weight of our body. From a symbolic point of view, if one has a mole on one's feet (foot) it is symbolic of carrying a burden with us. For example, some Chinese feel that if they have a mole on the back of their body, it could symbolise carrying a burden. If in doubt, do check with your family physician, instead. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Ashes of the dead
Dear Emily, Further to what I had mentioned: For your mum's room (as a precaution) try to avoid: 1. Earth colours e.g. yellow, cream or beige (In general, East sector has bad earth often #2 or #5 or a combination of them). 2. Fire (pink, red or purple). (The fire element should best be avoided as under the Productive cycle - fire element further helps or fuel bad earth - inflamming it). Especially for the bedsheet or walls or curtain(s) Please note that is not a standard for East sector, but in general, many of the period 7 , East sectors have (often) #2 or #5. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Elle, Apologies, I had accidentally saved in under the Paint Shop Pro extension. (As Paint Shop has been my favourite line art/draw program - since I first started using a PC as far back as in the early 1980's.) I have attached another file saved under the .gif format. (Below) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Ashes of the dead
Dear Emily, 1. I am very glad to hear that you are very thoughtful and considerate during this time for all of you:)) 2. Yes, it is worth getting a set of 6 coins (tied with red string) to be placed/hung above your mum's bed. 3. In fact, I personally feel that at this moment, it is good if either one of you sleep or rotate sleeping with your mum. (This is only my suggestion.) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Tibetan Bowls and Bells/dorje in Feng shui
Dear Xin Xin, 1. The two traditional and thus considered authentic schools of Feng Shui originated from China: Shapes and Forms and Compass School. 2. As Chinese culture and beliefs has spread to many cultures, Tibet is very close to, and now part of China. 3. The Black Hat (BTB) Sect or often called the Black Hat Tantric Sect - has a major part to play with the marketing of Tibetan stuff especially, the mystic of the Tibetan bells etc... 4. To many Tradtional Feng Shui Schools, this is not an authentic school. But many of the authentic schools have considered BTB as a marketing ploy. With its strong association of fixed template FS and various products etc.... 5. Perhaps, since Tibet is often considered inaccessible, due to its physical location and mystic, in my opinion, it could be one of the ways to make the BTB mystic and estoric. Often this appeals more (in my opinon) to our inner greed. 6. In general, one should classify the BTB type of FS more towards enhancing "Human / Man Luck " than truly Feng Shui. 7. In the 1980's unfortunately, many westerners, had very little knowlege of tradtional Feng Shui, given the limited number of resources in (English) than. But, many of these westerners are highly educated. Today, I believe that many of the highly educated BTB pratitioners have (AT LEAST) adopted many of the Shapes and Forms concept. Thus, I would say that they are now part Earth-luck practitioners, than a decade ago of just merely (Make us feel nice - with Human Luck FS). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Going from Period 7 to Period 8
Dear Amy, If you do not do any major renovations, your home will be considered to have a Period 6 birth-chart. Under Period 6, the number 6 is always considered an auspicious number. Even after Period 6, say even a house with double 6's (mountain and water star) is also acceptable - auspicious numbers. Given that the Number 6 is always an auspicious number, even under Period 1 to 9. But however, the number 7 is different. Under Period 7, any number = 7 is very auspicious. But after Period 7, this number turns to it's own bad number i.e. 7 = robbery or theft star. Therefore, a house with in Period 7 i.e. has a double 7's (very auspicious during Period 7) will "turn against" it i.e. 7's will turn into x2 = robbery, theft star. As mentioned, under the previous message, if you only want to enhance your home, and very new to Flying Star or Eight House, you could perhaps, opt for "expert help - we do it for you". Other than, if you want to learn more or take up a course on Flying Star etc... this is another option, which you may perhaps like to consider, this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Flying Star and Eight House Chart
Dear Amy, 1. Perhaps, you may like to consider the expert help option (We do it for you). 2. Each of us have our own birth-chart. And the distinction between Eight House and Flying Star Feng Shui is similar. 3. Both takes into consideration the "birth-chart" of a home. 4. As mentioned above, each of us have our birth-chart. Same goes for a home. 5. Given this understanding, we need to balance the elements in a home's "birth-chart". And the Flying Star Chart actually analyses the "birth-chart" of a home. 6. Therefore, even if one is a metal element or other element, we MUST first balance the birth-chart of our home. One way is based on the advice provided in a Flying Star report. 7. The Eight House has to do more with: 7.1 How suitable are we to the home 7.2 Which are the best room(s) for us. Even if the bedroom is bad for us, there is nothing we can do, less of a miracle cure to make the room suitable - less we want to move house. 7.3 The Eight House is also about (TRYING) to see if we can sleep in good directions, or facing. Other than this, the eight house is limited in scope. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Metal Cure
Dear Amy, In general: 1. Colours are important in Feng Shui. Thus, do check the type of colour(s) used. 2. White - represents metal element. And if the room is in white colour, it already has one component which is metal. 3. Colours like cream or beige or yellow belongs to the earth element. And rooms that are painted in these colours and if there are #2 (bad sickness earth) and #5 (bad earth - misfortune/sickness). If the room has been painted this colour or other colours in the room e.g. curtains used cream or yellow, then, metal should be used, here. 4. Where possible for neutralising #5 - constant metal is needed. Cures for this would range from: 4.1. 6 rod metal wind chime, hung outside. If not possible, things like a pendulum clock inside this location of the home. 4.2. Or if the above are not possible: a jar containing salt water with 6 coins are placed at a ventilated location (e.g. window area). 4.3. If a location has a combination of #5 with #2, then one can also hang a set of six coins in addition with (para 4.1 to 4.2) Feel free to email at: support@geomancy.net with: 1. a description of the location 2. the flying star numbers encountered at this location e.g. #2 (mountain or on the left-hand side) with #4 (base star) and #5 (right-side star - water star) 3. the type of cure suggested by our report. 4. Optional : sketched layout plan of that direction/location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Fwd: Map from Streetdirectory.com
Dear Elle, 1. The good news! There is no major threat from Huamin Primary School. Fortunately, because of this school, the `flame' thrower-head of North View School (please see the attachment: poorqiflow.gif - RED marking "A".) has been blocked. It is good that Huamin Primary School should continously be around. 2. The not so good news:- 2.1 The External Environment Analysis 2.1.1 Please refer to the file attachment: anaxe.gif 2.1.2 I have drawn a profile (in red) of what looks like the head or blade of an axe hitting block 349 and 350. 2.1.3 There is a minor threat or sha qi (the service road) in purple marking coming towards block 349. I find this is not a major issue if one lives at 3rd or 4th floor and not directly facing this `threat'. 2.1.4 The three circles that I had outlined, shows that block 349 and 350 does not have good overall qi flow within it. And units especially at the corner are often entrapped. Much like the one marked in the `red' star. Ashes of the dead
Dear Emily, 1. Ashes of loved ones. Frankly, since this is only temporary, personally, I feel that there is no harm for the urn to be placed in the home. Ideally, it should be placed in the living room area. But, since it is only temporary, and even if there is a delay, it is OK to let your sis have her way. And it is good to light it up. Since your mum has no issue with this, and since it has already been placed there for some-time, there is no necessity to move it - Since it is your father's ashes. No issue. 2. Often, once it is time to relocate your dad to his new home, please follow the instructions of the temple / final resting place location, to "call" him to his new home. Often, a simple ritual is to place his urn into his "new home". And afterwards, all family members will "recite or call" to your dad, his new home address within the site. As this is a trying time for all your family, try not to `create' more stress than necessary, since both your mum and sis are ok to it. 2. East For a home built or renovated under Period 7, East is often, a location attached to sickness. And there is a higher probabilty for health related issues in this "east" room. Wishing you all the very best! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Anything wrong with this block?
Further to what I mentioned, the "clapsed hand" or "closed hand" of the two blocks symbolised "closed opportunites". Please see attached illustration.

Anything wrong with this block?
Dear Xavier, My frank comments are: Major disadvantage of this block: ================================= 1. This specific block is considered at an inauspicious "T" junction. Since the street Jurong West St 65 is like a straight water course (Sha Qi) aimed at this block. (As shown in the pink arrow line). 2. It is in a symbolic (Chinese symbol for "down") as shown in the red Chinese character to "down". Secondary Threat: ================ 3. The entire block 685 (A, B, C..) - outlined in "blue" colour is symbolic of a dragon (serpent). The mouth of this dragon is located at marking "A". And the head (brain area) of the dragon is located at marking "B". The body of the dragon is "C". This configuration is a sha qi to 684A. 4. Frankly, I do not like the two U shaped type of block as it is not favourable for the movement or flow of qi for the two blocks : 685's and 683-684's. The new Costa Del Sol condominium located next to The Bayshore at East Coast, also has such a similar configuration. In my opinion, based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, residents in this block will often have to cope with financial problems. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Cleaning energies/true chinese coins
Dear Xin Xin, Please see below: Feng Shui is all about symbolism. And since 6 represents big metal; six coins are often used as a cure. Sometimes 3 coins are used also because the number 3 represents wood. And as the coins are symbolic of metal (real metal), under the five elements concept: metal destroy wood to "create wealth". This is why, sometimes, some FS practitioners or authors recommend using a string of three coins. Often, if one has these items for more than a month and found no problems - life goes on as usual, then, there is no problem in not doing a spiritual cleansing. What you mention, sounds like an amateur cleansing, and more likely it is made to make a person feel good rather than being that effective in "chasing away a spirit". Warmest Regards, Cecil

Cleaning energies/true chinese coins
Dear Xin Xin, Please see below:- Generally, there is no issue with the type of `imitation' coin used. The 6 coins or 3 coins displayed is often based on symbolism in Feng Shui. Often, it is a common practise for some Chinese who buys figurines such as "Guan Yim" or Goddess of Mercy to be brought home to pray to. In such a situation, often the eyes of these figurines are `drawn' on. But, if you were to buy decorations, there is often no need for any kind of purification. The only thing to be careful of is to buy dubious "antiques" if their origin cannot be ascertained. As some of these may harbour - unwanted spirits. Otherwise, mostly imitation products such as porcelain etc... are often free of such things. Warmest Regards, Cecil

How to block a 'SHA HEI
Dear Kok Seng, If you have a relatively large garden or a garden cum car-park, then, see if you have a sufficient wall e.g. a brick wall to shield your home from this "T" junction. The other alternative is if allowed, often, the exterior of your home has some plants or bush such as a garden balcony attached to your brick wall. Or, have plants to help shield your home from this Sha Qi. Hopefully, your main door cannot be directly seen from this "sha qi". If so, the tradition, is to place a ba gua mirror above the main door or the windows facing this `threat'. Apply proper Feng Shui to: 1. fix leaks - if any in a home 2. enhance using both Shapes and Forms and Flying star Feng Shui. A full Feng Shui investigation or audit often involves: 1. Looking at the drainage around and behind the home (if any) 2. surroundings and plot of land 3. Interior Feng Shui of a home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Money Plant
Dear Karen, Studies such as those done by NASA, has shown that having a plant indoors can be beneifical to a home. Recently, I had posted a link in this forum to a Honeywell Site - which also has some resources on having a plant indoors - and that some plants are more effective than others in `cleansing' the air in a home. In my opinion, I personally think that there are two reasons why some people do not like having a money plant indoors i.e. home or office:- Reason 1: Some of us just use a glass plant container, add rocks, to `secure' the roots of the money plant. And simply pour water to this container. As many of us know, this is an easy option, as we do not need to water the money plant every day. But, if we do not add mosquito pallets or check this container often, it can be a breeding ground for these blood suckers. Which can bring dengue or malaria fever. Reason 2: Some people consider the money plant a vine. And thus, associate it with plants like the `poison ivy' etc... In my opinion, reason 1 is the main concern. But of-course, one can easily plant these money plants to a small pot filled with sand. And this would remedy the problem associated with "Reason 1". Therefore, othe rthan this, there is no major issue with having indoor plants. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Correction methed
Dear Yak Heng, 1. The only correction method is often, to tilt the door. But in a HDB senario, it is impossible to do so due to restrictions by HDB. 2. One has to understand the various concept(s), their strengths and limitations. 3. In case of the Eight House theory, "wishing" away the wrong direction is near to impossible unless one physically make changes under para 1. 4. Often, anything else, under the Eight House is like taking a sugar coated pill. 5. Therefore, it is not so easy to use a "correction fluid" to ease the `problem'. It will always be there! 6. What is more important is that since, this is already a `leak' try to avoid more leaks in the home. 7. Or, try to get as much marks for other sectors or areas within the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

How to know the house period and the star
Dear Yak Heng, If you are D.I.Y. Feng Shui, then, you may have to spent more effort in understanding the various Shapes and Forms as well as Compass School Feng Shui (which includes Flying Star Feng Shui). Frankly, you may have to `burn-midnight oil' digesting as much as you can on these concepts. Else, the last resort would be to get a FS practitioner. Since, your short question cannot be replied to in total as there are lots of concepts involved even within each Feng Shui principle/concept. Warmest Regards, Cecil regards yhgoh

I am the above named person from Kuwait. I am married to Dr.Harry Jones who worked with Kuwait embassy in Ivory Coast for nine years before he died in the year 2000.We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both born again Christians.Since his death I decided not to re-marry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of 10Million Dollars (Ten Million United State Dollars) with one finance/security company in Amsterderm Holland. Presently, this money is still with the Security Company. Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next three months due to cancer problem. Though what disturbs me most is my stroke sickness. Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to church or better still a christian individual that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct here in. I want a church that will use this funds to fund churches, orphanages and widows propagating the word of God and to ensure that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that Blessed is the hand that giveth. I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don't want my husband's hard earned money to be misused by unbelievers. I don't want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly manner. Hence the reason for taking this bold decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace. I don't need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health because of the presence of my husband's relatives around me always. I don't want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the Finance/Security Company in Amsterderm Holland. I will also issue you a letter of authority that will prove you as the original- beneficiary of this funds. I want you and the church to always pray for me because the lord is my shephard. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and truth. Please always be prayerful all through your life. Wind Chimes, is it overkill?
Dear Anon, Yes, placing too many wind chimes can indeed be an "over-kill" especially if one uses the light weight alluminium type of wind chime. For those using the much heavier copper (hollow rod) with an I-ching coin clinger, this type, in my opinion, makes almost few or no sound at all. (Even in heavy winds). Perhaps, some of these, (for decoration) is not an "over-kill" since they are (nearly totally ineffective in making large sounds). Why not consider planting plants or shrubs on the fence or use "day" curtains. Both are equally acceptable. "If it is not seen, it no longer becomes a threat:)" Warmest Regards, Cecil

buddha and chinese warriors
Dear Deborah, 1. Apologies, the `dog' thing was meant to be a *JOKE* Glad that you have well trained (civic minded)dogs:)) 2. Frankly, there is no hard and fast rule on what makes a perfect garden. 3. Most of the time, in-fact, it is what you and your family feel comfortable with. 4. From your description, you garden sounds lovely. This is already a plus point. 5. The other `secret' ingredient to a successful (area) is the sight of birds. Birds, like us, do appreciate good location. Hopefully, they are not king fishers or fish eating ones (especially if one rears koi fishes:) 6. Don't worry, so long as one has a passion of gardening or simply admiring or making effort to make one's garden look `nice' often, this is already a success! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Checking for poison arrows
Dear Anon, Please see attached illustration. In this illustration, I had given two Case Studies: Case 1: Threats from lamp posts, trees or the pointed roof of a neighbouring home (Here, the threat should fall within the markings A to B as shown in the attachment). Case 2: Threats from the sharp edge of another near-by building. (Here, the building need not be directly in-front but at the side of the main door or window.) Hope you can see the difference. Warmest Regards, Cecil
