Dear master Lee,

I have two questions, and am hoping that you could give me some advice.

1. My house has two floors, the kitchen is located on the first floor, and the master bedroom is on the second floor. My master bathroom is located directly above the kitchen, and the toilet (bowl) is almost directly above the stove. Is there something to be concern of, and is there anything I can do?

2. Entering my house at the front door (where the living room is), the stairs that go up to second floor is right in front of the front door. Does that mean "money comes, money goes"? Besides using a screen to block the stairs from being seen from the front door, is there anything else I could use? The area is kind of narrow to use a screen. I do feel that I have a hard time saving up money since moving in. Please advice.

Thanks!!

1. Under Commonsense Feng Shui, definitely, it is considered not ideal to have the master bedroom directly above the kitchen. As it is believed that there is a higher incidence of a "fire" starting in a kitchen. Thus, this has more to do with "safety" aspect than of Feng Shui. However, in modern times, things like smoke detectors / fire alarm sensors / panels maybe in the master bedroom can help in such a situation. As fire travels upwards and such things can help.

2. Under Symbolic Feng Shui:-

2.1. Yes, the stove direclty below the toilet bowl is a major concern. Often, again one aspect is based on commonsense Feng Shui as often the sewerage pipe is thus directly above the stove. If there is a choice, not withstanding other Feng Shui concerns like "fire at heaven's gate" e.g. moving the stove may mean that the stove could be under the dreated NW compass direction. Would also be a double edged sword. Under Symbolism, some Feng Shui practitioners just ask the client to hang a wooden bottle gourdaround approximately 3 inches between the pipe and the stove. - Symbolism at work.

2.2. Yes, the main door facing the staircase door is a well known Shapes and FormsFeng Shui problem. As it symbolises wealth leaking out of the home e.g from the sloping staircase towards - out of the main door. This has a higher weightage asit can be considered as a majorwealth leak. There may be other wealth leaks - which is not covered, here as it involveslots more Feng Shui investigations.
