Posted April 6, 200916 yr Hi shifu Is this a good parition design ? beams with frosted glass (not fully covered) thanks
Posted April 6, 200916 yr Staff Please note that:-1. It is good to use frosted glass or sand blasted glass "side" facing the main entrance door.2. Contrary to popular belief, a partition need not be "air-tight":-2.1.Need not reach towards the ceiling2.2. Some people try to avoid "four bars"or even for "strips of vertical " glass or beams. Especially the Cantonese dialect group view it as inauspicious as it represents = 4 = "death".
Posted April 7, 200916 yr Thank you for the prompt reply.if the design is with 5 pillars & 4 vertical frosted glasses inbetween izzit also not advisable?thank u
Posted April 7, 200916 yr Staff 1. Frankly, the number of pillars and glass is more symbolic or based on cultural preferences like Cantonese dialect group seems not to like 4 etc...2. Other considerations include having an auspicious width of the partition. Most of the time, for government Housing Board flats, if the main door is immediately next to a side of a wall, then often, an optimium width of the partition is between 106 to 109 cm and if more exact, it could be 107 cm. Some partitions can be longer approximately 127 cm thereabouts.
