Posted July 27, 200916 yr I bought a new house, originally built in 1952 if you need that. It's perfectly aligned with East facing out from the front door and West facing out from the back, however the main door is inside a courtyard with a high wall, and the back has a hill.Should I measure the size of the windows to determine the facing and sitting sides in Flying Star Feng Shui or should I use the main entrance side as the facing side? The back has French doors leading out. To enter the front, you go through a locked gate and then through the front door.
Posted July 27, 200916 yr Also, I should note that the backyard is sloped, so the house is below the house and road behind it.
Posted July 27, 200916 yr Staff 1. If you have pictures of both sides would be good.2. Majority of homes have 4 sides. If it is standalone home (bungalow) then 4 sides. If it is a semi-detached home than 3 sides to consider as the "facing" direction. For terrace home only 2 sides.3. Often, if the "back" of the home has the washingarea/ washing machines, kitchen (wet and or dry) and rooms said as spare, guestor maid'sroom and toilets; then most likely, this area standing inside the home facing out of this areais not the"facing" direction".4. Facing direction shouldoften preferably to "light" airy and bright. No need to measure windows, a visual look of how many openings and how much light comes in would be one consdieration indetermining the facing direction of the home.5. Your call, because, it is difficult tounderstand from a simple forum message. The saying goes " a picture tells a thousand words".
