Hi, i living ina terrace house, my house's main door is facing NE2. i been convince by some fengshui book saiding that, to determine the facing direction, we must look at the external factor, like is it facing unobstruct view, facing a road, or facing a max yang energy. now the question isfrom my back door,i actually can see some viewbeyond and is facing a main road( house level located higher than the road), also i can see there is a school at the west direction; while from my main door at NE2, all the view is blocked by the houses opposite.

consider all the factor , i am actually decided my house facing is at the back of the house, which is SW2 instead of NE2. could you advise if thats correct way in determine the facing? Appreciates your favor reply.

1. What you said makes sense; but take note of the following factors:-

1.1. Usually, this is more effective if one is building a NEW home from scratch. For example, if you have a better view at the "back" of the home; and want to really consider SW direction as your "facing direction" then:-

1.2. Try to make the SW or back of the home your daily activity area : especially make this area as a living room area with optional patio etc...

1.3. It is fool hardy to pretend to make the SW area of your home your frontage especially if your washing / drying / garbage depository / kitchen is at this location.

2. Thus, even if you have good external facing direction but as the saying goes the back area or back yard is "like shit" then it makes no sense to have the SW as the "frontage" or the mouth of the home.

3. Please look at the above points. And if your home has activity area at the SW side; then by all means, go for it! Therefore it depends!

Hi Cecil, thanks for your reply, NE2 is my livig hall, and you are right SW2 is my kitchen area, actually from the back doorto the main road, there is about 30ft of empty land, i did plant some vege there and it also a area i play with my dogmost the time, butthere also use as my dog daily 'discharge' area.

it seem that a bit of dilemma at this moment. the reason behind is my main door is at NE2, if the house facing of SW2 is right, than Water star 8 will be at my NE2 area which is my main door area and living hall, those i can make use the powerful flying star 8 at NE2.

i have a thought, will i be a good choice to put a water feature at NE2 to test if there is any money luck so i can know if i choose a right facing direction?normally how long will it take effect if i do so?
