We are about to buy a new
home. The house is
facing SW. The
backyard is slopping up away
from the house. In
front of the house on the SW
side, there is a 1-acre storm
detention pond. Does
the storm detention pond
pose any harm to the
residents of the house?
Thanks.

1. I hope got what you mentioned correctly. You are saying that the backyard is higher than the house? If so, strictly based purely on Shapes and Forms, it is akin to a mountain (tortise side) at the back of the home - which is generally good.

2. Seriously - a picture tells a thousand words. And these two sentences, ain't going to help .. one bit. Chinese saying "catch-no-ball, here"

Dear Master Cecil,

I am trying to post the photo again. The pond shown in the photo

is rain water retention pond which temporally hold rain water before it

goes to the sream that runs through the wood area behind the pond. The

water is nearly all year around in the pond (typically hold water of

about few meters.

Thanks in advance for advising us if the pond would pose any harm to the

recsidents in the house.

Mike

PS: the front yard (SW) of the house is few meter lower than the back yard (NE); and the east side of the house is only a half meter higher than the west of the house inside the property. Further west of the property, which belongs to community, the elevation starts to drop about 2 meters from the property line to the pond boundary.

1. Purely from a Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is considered inauspicious.

2. This concept is based on the "East Dragon" and especially more towards: the "White Tiger" concept.

3. Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is not good to have an "open" mouth somewhat circular or looks like a hungry tiger's mouth. And since this home is facing SW, the water retention pond is considered as at the West side of the home - ie. the "white tiger's domain.

4. Just imagine, a tiger's mouth is always open "hungry" ...

5. Thus in general, even if the home is considered facing a favourable direction under Period 8 : SW, the prime concern here is the external Shapes and Forms Feng Shui - prevails.

Thanks for your generous
time in replying our question.
We wonder if this
would help
if we
re-orientate the house so
that the house is more facing
the south than the
west.

or we could make the
house facing the exactly
south.

The circular is a cal

1. What I had mentioned earlier is based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. And Flying Star is totally different area i.e. I am relating it to the concept of the "White" tiger at West of the plot of land.

2. And the above concept is distinct from the Flying Star Feng Shui. Bear in mind that : It is not like changing the "face" or facing direction and Para 1, disappears totally or it will go away.
