It's common name: Spider Lily; indeed the white flower looks like a spider. It belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family. The plant and flower comes from the West Indies. However, this plant with white flowers are not popular with locals as they consider : white (white flowers) inauspicious. The Chinese and Singaporeans prefer brightly coloured flowers, instead.
