Dear Master,

Our steel doors (one smaller for person's entrance and driveway door for car's entrance) are in line with the perimeter wall; and also parallel to the door entrance to the living room.

Which one is considered the main door of the house?
1) Is it the smaller door on the same line of the perimeter wall
2) or the door in the driveway on the same line of the perimeter wall
3) or the internal door attached to the structure of the house?

What if the external door is facing North?
the main entrance to the living room is facing East?

Which direction should be used in determining the facing of the house?

What is the ideal size of the external door and the internal door so that it wont be too big or too small?

When I took the measurement of the facade from the ends of the perimeter wall and measurement of the steel door:
1) the entire facade is - 15meters
2) the driveway door - 4meters
3) smaller door for person's entrance - 1.5meter

Is this size proportion to the facade?

Again, this is the first time in my whole life where I encounter : steel doors, entrance, driveway door, smaller door and so many wordings on doors.

Frankly, Feng Shui is not so complicated, but a newbie reading this will think that Feng Shui belongs to rocket-science.

1. If you so interested in getting "perfect measurements" the easiest is to go purchase a Feng Shui ruler. Find out more about the measurements:-

http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-ruler.htm

2. Again, unfortunately, you make Feng Shui reallysounds so complicated: what with entire facade 15 meters etc...

3. Frankly, again, you are the one and only person; throughout the existence of this forum as far back as the 1996's that posts such ...

4. If you really are so into measurements, I sincerely advice you to go learn VASTU, the Indian art of "Feng Shui".

5. As in fact, last decade or so, there are some in India, which strictly build homes that strictly must fit precise measurements: room by room kind of situation.

6. Hey! Feng Shui or Chinese Art of Feng Shui is more practical. Only certain measurements, try nice to have. And even in the forbidden cities, the concept of 9 or 999 are very important. But to make sure that when we "Feng Shui" build a home, everything must fit Feng Shui measurements - is not practical.

7. Frankly, those who are too obsessed with Feng Shui and in Singapore, we thought that some are kiasu, but you are the ultimate "kaisee" fella.

Dear Master,

I understand that the door size should not exceed 33.33% of the entire facade.

However, what is the size of the main door to consider it too small, is 1/5 or 2/5 of the facade consider as too small.

Appended on 4 December 2019:

Suggest, please go directly for an in-dept understanding of the Frontage of a house. Is it always the main door?

Please refer to the attached resource:

For practical reasons, the smallest Asian sized door width is 35 inches. For European or American standard - should be 42 inches or 48 3/4 inches roughly within such a range.

Commonsense approach is that if the width is larger; the larger clearance the door has to "swing" inwards. And imagine if the door size is 58 inches (one or two leaves) and if the door swings inwards; the foyer of the home has to be pretty wide to cater for this width.

Furthermore, if the home is to be lived in and ifdoes have a family: again just imagine a little cute boy or girl 4 to 5 years old struggling to open or close the door not withstanding any high winds nor the weight of the door. Doors that are at least 1/2 hour fire rated doors ain't lightweight - for sure!
